Friday the 13th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday the 13th

Postby Othersharon » Fri Sep 13, 2019 11:11 am

Good morning. Again for just a couple of minutes! Hard to believe the temps flirted with 90 just a couple of days ago and so far we’re still in the low 60’s. Crazy! Back to long pants and long sleeves! I spent some time yesterday at the campground where tailgaters for the university’s football games are being parked now. Friends of mine belong to the Grange and are now working the gate and parking crew. University downsized camper parking around the stadium and asked Grange to take it over. Anyway, we set in their camper and watched the parking crew lead campers to their spaces. They finally opened the gate an hour early to accommodate. This is a big game this week end so a lot of fans coming into town. Me, I’ll avoid State College this week end! Learned my lesson last week end!
Friday the 13th and harvest moon tonight. Not looking promising to see it tonight with the cloud cover. And not particularly superstitious so just another day. I managed to get my running around done that I needed to do so I’ve no plans to go out in the next couple of days. Need to catch up on chores here at home. Never ending! So not much else from me today. Just hoping you all have a good day and enjoy it.

Hello Sharon & everyone!

Sharon, I am superstitious so we're laying over for an additional day in Amarillo TX and will leave here tomorrow to go to Yukon Oklahoma for a couple days. We took the limo from the campground to the Big Texan late yesterday afternoon, at no charge to us, and had a wonderful meal. The tater skins we ordered for our appetizer didn't arrive until our meals were almost done, so we brought them home along with lots of other leftovers, so we'll that those for today's dinner. It was cool when we got up this morning, too, and the high today will reach to about 81, but it's supposed to warm up tomorrow. Enjoy your day, whether you're on the road or home.

Happy Friday!

I was born on the 13th (Sunday, not Friday) so I don't have any superstitions about today. :)

Tina, Thanks for the FB tip about Solo Women Travelers. You're right - It is inspiring & they offer lots of ideas for traveling solo. Did you join both - the one for over 60 & the regular one? So far I've just joined the over 60 group. I figure I have more in common with them than with younger gals.

It's warm here today - just turned on the a/c. Ready for the cool down - maybe next week.

Getting my hair cut after work today. I wait until I can't stand it anymore. Glad the lady I go to can usually fit me in quickly. I wish I could bring her home with me - she always makes it look so good when I leave. I can never do the same on my own even though she tries to show me how to do it. You'd think it'd be simple with such short hair. :?

Well, better get back to work.
Stay safe out there.

Catherine, that's a trick... Doing at home what they do in the shop. I don't think many of us have learned it.

I actually have always liked Friday the 13th. And I love full moons. But I do know friends working I hospitals have talked about strange happenings. I believe it's more the pull from the full moon.

My work day is done unless anyone calls. Just relaxing now. I'll share a pic or two of Ty looking at buffalo during our ride yesterday.

Beth, After looking at the adorable pix of Ty, I was wondering how close he has
been to a buffalo and if he would be frightend of it? They are so huge!

Hopefully he'll never get up close and personal with one. But they'd be likely to ignore him if he did... Unless he did something stupid like so many people do. He didn't bark or even growl (and that's funny because earlier in the day we went past a single cow and he did).

Been busy today getting ready for my trip. Got the car cleaned out, gassed up and washed, and loaded up all the ferret stuff. Got a new harness for Lola, got mostly packed, and now just relaxing and enjoying fresh brownies.

I was so frustrated when I went to buy kitty litter and litter box liners. They are making the boxes of litter bigger and bigger. Went to 4 different stores to find a smaller box of the brand I like. I can't lift and carry a 20 or 30 pound box! I have tried the new lightweight litters but I don't like them. Because I get the scoopable litter, I usually don't use box liners, but because Lola still gets diarrhea, she sometimes gets it on the sides of the litter box which is hard to get off once it dries, so I thought it would be helpful to use liners. Can't find them anywhere! I finally found some at PetCo but they wanted $20 for them!! I will look on-line and see if I can find something more reasonable. Meanwhile, for the trip, I will just line the box with a large garbage bag. (I got a high sided box so nothing goes over the side!).

Will try to be on the road by 9am. Need to get to bed early in order for that to happen.

Ava, if you read this, contact me if you want to get together while I am in Phoenix. I will be heading back Monday afternoon.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sheila, with my previous two phones (a Palm phone then an iPhone ), I started getting that full error. Took it to Verizon and they replaced the tiny Verizon micro sd card in it and all was well. Might try that if you are wih Vetizon.

I don't think it came with a sd card I bought one and had one of the kids put it in... some things you can't move over to it
like we can't figure out how to put the pictures over to it so guess I am going to have to send them to me and put them on to the computer...like I know how to do that either...
but thanks Velda for the suggestion
