A Special Monday Morning.. "Memorial Day"... I chose this poem, "In Flaunders Fields" by John McCrae. For the longest time as a kid I never understood the reason for the Poppy. I mean, when I'd see a man with a soldier cap standing in the door way with a basket with theses little poppies, and when someone gave a few coins, they'd be handed these cute little poppies.. I'd see people all over New York wearing them too..until I came across this poem. I kept it, and ever since I've posted this poem. How do we ever repay for what they gave, those brave young men and women. Still today we have those same kind of men and women giving. So as we have our CookOuts and our Get Togethers give a few moments of your time and Thank them, as it truly is a "Special Day" God Bless Them and the USA !

Again, I want to thank all of you for sending your prayers and good wishes.. it feels good to be home ! Ain't no place like home ! (Where's my Ruby Reds) :)... I've been scanning through.. and see some wonderful pictures..

Reading your updates always makes me want to hurry over and read the source materials. So glad that you are feeling up to sitting and computing at all! Hope the healing time flies by. I am resting up from the drive to northern Ohio. All the pups came back with me but I have two families that are suppose to call me to check them out in person. On is from the Lexington, KY area so I am not that far for them to travel. Herschel says that he hasn't visited his friends for a week and wants to head over to the nursing home sometime today. And it is back to work for me tomorrow, but I think the project I am on is just about run out and I may have a couple days off this week before the next one starts up on Monday. I got excited for about two seconds this morning thinking maybe I could head off and camp for a couple of days but then remembered that samping with a pen of puppies is not really good for anyone....pups or the neighbors in the camp ground. At dog shows its part of the scene but not campgrounds. Oh well, we are enjoying the little wigglies while they are here. They traveled well yesterday. I took the MH. The new bed that replaces the pull out sofa works much better! I still need to have a mattress made to fit it, the one in there now is 36 inches and a bit wider than I would like. When I am driving down the road, I can imagine a time when I will just keep driving to the next night spot. The time will come. :) Hope everyone enjoys their holiday and takes a moment to remember the reason for the day. Nick Russell's (Gypsy Journal) blog was very good today...

YAYYY! Barbzee is back! Welcome home! So nice to see the kitchen up and running and full of taste-tempting treats!

So you now have one replumbed leg, yes? Can you tell the difference in the circulation in that one yet? Or is it still too sore to even think about? That surgery worked wonders for my father-in-law for years and years, and I am hoping for the same for you. Too bad they couldn't have done your two legs together, but I suppose it's easier to at least have one good leg to stand on while the other heals. So happy to see you!

Coffee tastes great this morning, thanks! The sky is clear, the sun is shining through all the tall white pine trees here, and all's right with the world.

I hope we all remember those who were once a part of our lives with fondness and happy memories today----all of our friends and family, both two-footed and four-footed. And we need to think of all the families whose sons and daughters have given their lives in the service for our country.

Off I go for a walk in the woods with Molly! Stay in touch as often as you can.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning, everyone. Hope all of you have a great Memorial Day.. We are pulling up stakes here In San Antonio and heading toward Del Rio. Barbz, glad to see you at the table, perking our coffee and putting out goodies. Nope, no shopping for me. I used to do that a lot, but now there is no room at the inn and don't need a lot of clothes.

My DH has never been to a waterpark, so yesterday we went to Schlittenbahn, considered one of the top parks in the country. (check out our blog). Had a blast and now he can check off one more thing to do in life. carold

Afternoon all...
DIdn't make it in this am...dealing with 5 11-12 year old boys...trying to get tents down, sleeping bags rolled and stuff cleaned up...so the yard goes back to looking like a yard and not a tent site at a campground. DH took all the boys home and we still ended up with a couple of socks...hey at least they match...that it a rare. A strange back pack.

Now I have the first load of trailer stuff in the truck. The linens, towels, bathroom stuff, and some food staples like sugar, oils, seasonings, etc.

Who knows I may actually have it all put together and ready to go by Wed am.

Good evening everyone. So good to see you back and recouperating, Barbzeee. That's a nice special tribute you posted. Beth, Carol, and I got to Custer's Last Stand in time for a Memorial Day service at the National Cemetery there. Pictures will have to wait till we have hookups. We've been taking advantage of free or almost free cgs the past few days, so have to run the generator. Phone and aircard service is iffy too. But don't you worry, we'll catch you up on the neat places we've visited soon. we're slowly making our way to St. Mary's at Glacier NP where we'll meet up with the others.
