Good Morning from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Sun is shining in the eastern sky, temps in low 60’s. Perfect. Having a great time here at Indian Lake. Fantastic concert on Friday night, then it was also Christmas in July yesterday. They did a Christmas trivia, caroling session at the camp host site last night. Only instead of traditional carols, you inserted camping theme into the words. Like the 12 days of Christmas became On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, a “tent under a Pear tree, Five Golden rings became “5 burning marshmallows” etc. what a hoot. Lots of laughing going on. Then for trivia, the kids had to guess different answers and they won prizes. The adults were laughing at some of the answers. There was also a drawing for a bunch of prizes, didn’t win anything. Just little fun stuff. Was really fun. And the camp host dressed as Santa Claus. My sloppy joes and sweet corn were a hit and we had tossed salad, Mac salad, homemade blueberry pie and ice cream brought by the rest of our group. We’ve been relaxing, visiting, out for ice cream and what not. Heading to a small town blueberry festival this afternoon. Some will be leaving today though. Tomorrow my friend and I are heading west about 120 miles toanother park for the night, before turning north to Copper Harbor which is at the end of the finger that juts out into Lake Superior for 3 days. Looks like 3 perfect day too with sun, temps in 70’s etc.

Now time to get cleaned up and get this day rolling. Pups need the morning potty stroll, although right now they are snoozing contentedly in their beds. Hope you all have a wonderful day today.

Good morning to all. Well we are on the road for a while. We wanted to get out of Las Vegas and the heat for the worst months.An we managed to do that! Yesterday when we arrived in Ely, NV it was in the mid 80s. This morning it is FREEZING - well not really but it is only 45! Not used to that. Glad I brought along my fleece shirt and long pants. Right now I have the little electric heater on trying to warm up the RV a little so Bill will be able to defrost and get up. Then I'm sure the furnace will go on for a while. Going to be in the high 80's later today. I don't know if we'll stay here another day or go on to Wendover, UT. It will be warmer there. Eventually we hope to get as far north as Glacier Park.
We plan on stopping to see lots of interesting things. But plans have a way of changing.

I'm in a brain fog today. No clue why. But doing simple tasks I do daily at the store took two and three tries. Mainly funny and luckily just a matter of wasting my time lol. So now I'm home. Ty is napping and I'm playing on the internet.

I bought a Navage system and got it the other day. My sinuses are always a problem and after never having luck with Neti pots and other methods suggested I decided to give this a go. So far it's doing better at clearing out my sinuses than anything else I've tried over the years. I've only used it once a day... And already discovered it helps more going in from one nostril than the other. I think I might, for a few days up it's use to twice a day. Fingers crossed that it continues helping!

Beth, I looked up that Navage system and that looks interesting! Do you get any water in your throat at all? Hope it does the trick for you.

Lazy day, slept in late. I need to finish my laundry and clean up the kitchen since my new stove will be delivered on Wednesday and I want things put away and out of the way before then.

One more hot day and then cools off a bit but the humidity/dew points go way up so will actually feel worse. I guess August will be more of the same.

Barbie, a little in my throat. I think my breathing might cause it. But I also, today, stopped immediately when I felt some going in my throat, then restarted a second later. That worked. And maybe after taking a breath before starting I shouldn't breath again before I finish. It's a learning experience and I, too, hope it makes a long term difference.

Carol, 45 sounds pretty good right now. It's raining off and on today so the temperature isn't too bad. I would like to go to the pond but the sky is too threatening.

I was wondering if the sinus treatments like the Neti Pot give you the feeling of getting water up your nose when you swim. I had a terrible sinus infection when I started college that I battled for almost a year. The only thing they would give me was some kind of red pills and I don't think they were antibiotics. The doctor recommended that I stand in a hot shower and breath the water in. That was a lot of fun. I battled infections off and on until I was in my mid 20's and finally had health insurance to get surgery.

I looked on line for a stand for Hank's food bowls and couldn't find something I liked. I decided to cut 3 inches off the legs of the one he has. I had already cut 2 inches off when I bought it but couldn't remember how I did it. Some of the things I forget makes me wonder. I thought about it a while and decided I must have used the hack saw. I got them cut but it was not easy. The legs are solid metal rods.

Martha, does Hank have a particular need to have an elevated bowl? The 'doggy' research now is advising not to elevate the bowls. It was something that was thought to help prevent bloat but now the new guidelines say not to elevate. Could be though they may change their minds again

You could put a regular bowl up on a small box of some kind. Just a thought.

Speaking of food bowls, Lola just ate almost 3 cans of cat food! She finishes one bowl of food and is meowing for another and another! The pred is probably responsible for that and I am glad she is eating so much. However, most of it goes right thru her within about 15-20 minutes so not sure how much is really staying in her system. She is still very thin. She doesn't care much for the expensive healthy food so now I am mixing some of the Fancy Feast in with it and she is eating that better. Am adding the anti-diarrhea drops and some probiotic powder in with it along with a little Pedialyte. Not sure what more I can do. The capsules are going down much better than the liquid in the syringe method tho. She is a little dehydrated since she isn't drinking a lot of water so I will probably go to her vet and pick up some SubQ fluids to give to her this week.

Barbie, try adding some water in with her food. And don't over do it with too much food at once!

I add a little Pedialyte with her food too. She has eaten another half can of food.

I used my dishwasher for the first time (been washing by hand) and it came on for a short time and stopped. I turned it on again and did the same thing. Then I looked at the dishes and they seem to be clean. It is a very small dishwasher so maybe it just doesn't run as long as a full-sized one. I did see a little bit of water on the floor tho. It is old so I may need to replace that eventually. Not a necessity right now so that can wait.

Hank has a problem in his throat so I thought it would help him not choke and it seems to help. The stand is 13 inches high and the bottom of the bowl is at 10 inches. The stand was for a really big dog but I found it on sale at a discount place. I had already cut some off the legs. The problem with the shorter ones is that the shorter they are the smaller the bowl.

I'm glad Lola is eating again.

I went fishing and caught 4 or 5 small catfish. They must have come with the flood because I seldom ever caught a cat fish anymore. If it will ever dry up I need to go through the stuff that washed up and pick up the trash. It is raining again.

Barbie I too hardly ever use my dishwasher. I need to use it at least once a month to keep it lubricated so I am told. I like washing my dishes, nice hot soapy water...bam they are done. I hardly have very many anyway.

Went and got my mail....jury summons. They summon me about every 2 years and my answer is still NO. I am not a citizen so wish they would just leave me alone.

Wasn't too smoky earlier today but of course since we have heated up and a breeze from the north has picked up the smoke is heavy now. Only went out to get my mail, spent the rest of the day inside.

It is almost midnight on the east coast and almost 9:00 here in the Pacific Time Zone. We are somewhere close to Portland Oregon. We are leaving in the morning to continue south to Florence for a couple days. Things are tense here to say the least. It's hard traveling with folks you thought you knew and now we find out we didn't know him at all. He's a control freak and all of us are stressing. I have a feeling we may split sooner than later and that may be a good thing. Sorry to be whining but my body and mind are just about spent. Have a good night folks.

Just heard about a deadly shooting at a festival up near San Francisco. So sad! You just never know when or where that will happen. Scary They are still looking for the shooter.

Got quite a bit done on the kitchen today but still have some organizing to do. There are two shelves in a large corner cupboard that don't quite fit and keep falling. I need to figure out how to get them to fit better so I can use that space for storage. I think I just need to get a narrow strip of wood trim to nail on the side of the shelves to add about a quarter inch more so they stay on the shelf holders.

Lola just finished another can of food! I will keep feeding her as long as she is hungry. I try to pace her with an hour or two between meals so she doesn't get sick. So far so good, except for the diarrhea.
