May have found a TT today which is why the route south may be delayed. Same brand that I have now. If I decide to get it, that means I don't need to upgrade to a 3/4 ton truck & can do a 1/2 ton, which would save me a ton of $$$ on the truck side.

Hello!

I would be interested to know why you have decided to forego a slide. I looked at TT's for several years before settling on my Jayco 154BH Baja. It does not have a slide (I decided fairly early on that I did not want one - just one more thing to fail) and I am finding that it is just about perfect for me - quite small, as such things go - 17 feet - but an excellent fit for me.

I don't travel so much as some of you do, but I lived in it for almost three weeks during my Yellowstone trip this past spring, and found it very comfortable. Infinitely more comfortable than just camping in my van (which I did for a couple of years). My 1/2 ton van pulls it like it isn't there - although my Andersen hitch helps quite a bit!

Anne ~ Yes the slide failing is probably my biggest concern, crossing my fingers every time I press the button. Slides are much more reliable now, but I think my biggest concern is that I would have problems when there are no mobile RV techs in the area ~~~ then what do I do? Since I am fulltime and seem to move every 10 days or so, the slide mechanism does get a work out. I definitely would miss the extra room the slide gives for living space.

I didn't do what I planned yesterday. But I decided I was going to remake my divider between the cab area and living area. Thought I had it all figured out. Park members got to go into the main area of tomorrow's sale this afternoon and I saw a large, thick blanket for $1.50. Ka-ching! I can drape it to cover the whole area, nothing fancy, done.

I've got stuff out at my site for tomorrow. What was I thinking? I'll be walking Ty at the coldest hour of the day lol I hope we have an awesome sunrise... Got to be ready and out there when people arrive. I don't have much to sell but maybe it can pay for a meal out.

Same here Beth. Have to get up early to get set for our carport sale. It starts at 8am but I've been told that people start showing up by 7am or earlier! I am nervous about all the stuff set outside tonight and have all the outside lights on. I heard one of the homeless people out back of my house earlier and saw a flashlight in the trees along the creek back there. I turned on my flashlight and shined it all thru the trees to let them know I heard them so hopefully they left. But still makes me nervous when they are back there. Calling the police doesn't accomplish anything. They don't want to deal with it. I set up a motion-sensor alarm out in front of the carport that will go off if anyone walks in there.

I also don't have a lot to sell, just some things I had bought for that dog I had last spring, and a few things I bought for the house, that didn't work out or I changed my mind about. My roommate will have a few things there as well. Good luck with your sale!

Long day. I'm really, really not a morning person lol ... I handle it better than in my younger days, but I never looked at the sunrise! Bad me.

I didn't have lots out to sell, but considering my prices were so good, what I put out sold. Only a few things left. AND, I put a for sale sign on my scooter and took a deposit. It needs a new battery, so the sale can't be finalized until that comes (I have one ordered). Hopefully it'll go smoothly.

On another note, today Peaches celebrated her birthday at Rainbow Bridge. She was a special girl and taught me so much.

feel in the need for the campfire...they can be so relaxing!!!
it's been a trip but hey I am in Needles as we write... a few years ago I was at a truck stop
and this person came up and spoke to the gentleman that was with me...he thought I shouldn't drive up by myself so him and his wife came along...anyway as I recall they pointed out that something was indicating a problem with the hubs or axis on the trailer so since what they said and as you can see has escaped me had them do what they felt was needed...they told me to stop by and they would do the maintenance work on them...and I would think of it as I went flying by even slowed down once and it looked closed but this time was determined to stop... and since earlier in the day I had ran over the tire tread of a truck that had just lost it and when I got fuel a few miles back saw a wet spot under the cab of the truck couldn't tell if it was mine or left from before..so when I stopped they said sure they would grease the hubs asked if they would mine checking the oil if it was good then would know it wasn't mine drips...of course while looking at it as it's a tire place they looked the tires over and the front ones were wearing strange (I had noticed it myself but was hoping and still am that they will last a bit longer) they said that the shocks were making them wear weird so new shocks on the front will do the backs another time...as I was paying $$I mentioned that I needed to figure out why I couldn't hook up my propane (when I was getting ready to leave my summer spot I had son in law put the tanks in the area they stay in so assumed that he had hooked them up as I had used propane for heat while in Ogden...when I left Ogden I opened the door to see if it was indicating it was low and it was red so took it off and went to put in on the other then realized that it wasn't working and everything was strange ... pondered that as I was driving wondering what to do turns out when I expressed concern the guy came out and what SIL had done was leave the pressure gauge from the other tank on (in summer am hooked up to a much larger tank for the stove and heater) for the buddy I use the smaller tank as it needs a different adapter. so they quickly removed the one gauge and reattached the rest of mine to the hose and then I had propane...good thing as it was cold in Cedar City...got to Cedar City just before dark then this morning left with the thoughts of getting to Needles and perhaps if not too tired moving on to Q wasn't to be after I got fuel just outside of St George I had very little power and no place to pull over so up I went and on to the freeway in a bit seemed better then not so then better finally as I was close to the gorge I pulled over wondering what to do..called nephew the mechanic no answer in shop called his phone no answer waited a bit decided to call good sam's of course wasn't in a good service area finally after 3 calls got them to understand where I was and what the truck was doing...said would send out tow truck for both.. the one for the truck got there first and was looking things over and said we have a problem as you have a goose neck and he doesn't so called told him to bring a fuel filter to see if that was the problem and explained that I have a conversion kit on my hitch ....they determined if the filter didn't solve the problem they would take it off and hitch it up so drove to the next exit pulled into a wide area still wasn't sure it was working right so determined that we would go back to St George to the garage that was expecting me if I could drive the whole distance good if not they would be there to hook me up so got to the garage told him what was going on he took out the diagnostic thing took it for a drive came back in said it was ready to go... turns out he had had the same problem sorta knew what to look it was a low booster need it for power in the meantime I had text the kids my problem then when I left was trying to make up time like this was a 3 hour delay and wouldn't take note of a place I could pull over to text them the out come..so had them worried then I took a different route due to construction in Vegas had me worried no not that bad but took longer I think finally got to shotgun to get fuel and text the kids when my brother called my mom is in hospital as her hemostat was at a 5 not good so then off to Needles in the dark and with the phone pinging or texts going off..was so glad to get here..they finally got her blood type (somewhat rare) she needs 3 units and they need to figure out why... I have 3 brothers brother #2 called brother #3 as he was the closest so he went to mom's looked at her said ok we are going to the hospital and no augments last time I gave into a women not wanting to go to dr's didn't work out (he is the brother whoe's wife died this spring) so that was my day tired and just looked at the winds might be here till Sat was hoping I could leave Friday at noonish but not looking good I know I am a woose but the winds are up in the 30 MPH
you all have a great day

Wow, Sheila, I do hope you get to rest up some and the winds abate. Good that your brother knew to stand up to your mom. Old and stubborn can be a double edged sword. It helps keep us moving but sometimes clouds our judgements. Stay warm, don't blow over and continue on down the road when you can!

Sheila do not ever call yourself a woos. I am of the mind set it is much better to be safe than sorry. There is nowhere I have to be when conditions are not optimal. I held up in Bakersfield for 3 days due to high winds. When I got to Needles they said good thing I didnt come the last couple of days it was terrible....so see I dodged that bullet. You are close so just wait it out until you can drive comfortably.

Yikes, Sheila, what a day. Prayers for your Mom. As to driving, do what's comfortable and safe for you! Getting to Q a day sooner or later won't really make a difference in the whole scheme of things.
