Wednesday 9/19

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday 9/19

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Sep 19, 2018 8:58 am

Another day in Ohio. I almost said another exciting day but I won't until the evening comes and the balance of an everyday Wednesday gets evaluated. The little Honda got driven over yesterday to it could have an oil change and a health check up. Apparently with not going to Florida last winter and the purchase of the Town and Country mini can, the Honda Fit got over looked. The car never once complained. At eight years young I am hoping that I can keep it humming along for another 100,000 miles.

Lark is going to obedience classes with me on Mondays. I looked at my fall schedule and figured out that I didn't have any excuses not to sign her up. I can train her at home but it helps to have the added distractions of other environments and dogs around for her to get that the rules cross all environments.

Now I am eyeing Audrey and thinking how I can get her involved in some activities.

Heading out to my 50th high school reunion this weekend. I gave up a perfectly fine dog show and what I expect will be a wonderful RV GTG this week to stay in town and attend. But then again I was mostly an observer in high school so I will go and continue to observe. The nerd in me is curious. I was yearbook editor so my knowledge base for classmates in wide but no necessarily deep. I spent my weekends and summers working at a riding stables but then back in the dinosaur ages school sports for young girls wasn't quite as developed as it is now. And the skills and personality of cheer leading wasn't in my skill set.

Hope everyone can find some pleasing adventures today to keep them out of trouble!

Good morning Tina and those who follow!

Slept almost 10 hours last night! I was really tired yesterday and it was a very stressful day for me. I had a client from Hell yesterday. And of course our GM was there evaluating us so I was nervous anyways. Luckily both my manager and GM were very understanding and supportive. But it shook me up for the rest of the day.

Got a few things I need to do around here today before heading off to work later. Then I have tomorrow off. Need to clean up and reorganize my bedroom and bath.

Hope you all have a good day! :D

Just checking in. We buried Mel's body yesterday at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery and it was a beautiful ceremony. Today family and friends begin to drift back to their lives, while I find myself in my first day in over 5 years to be able to choose what I do while planning all the places I need to call or visit to get $$ flowing in and final details done.. The death certificate was sent to wrong Dr who basically just made up cause of death, which was totally wrong, so now we are getting that fixed so I can proceed! I'm ok, as I can be for now. Still feeling the shock of finality. Visitation, funeral, and burial were perfect and a fitting tribute to Mel. I'm starting to get inklings that his spirit is still watching over me like when his phone called me yesterday using a photo ID that is different than the one he actually used. No one there of course but several verified that no one had their hands on the phone at the time!
I'll be ok in time but it's sure lonely even with people around. Often I'm glad I'm alone because I'm still talking out loud to him and am quite ok with that, as long as he doesn't audibly answer me! I'll stop in as I feel up to it. Happy travels everyone. I'm headed to Curves.

Nice hearing from you, Velda.
Take it easy - have some good conversations with Mel & who the heck cares if you hear him respond. :) Love the story about the phone call. Keep your heart open, you'll pick up on his presence when you least expect it. Rest & don't rush anything.

Tina, my '06 Honda Odyssey has 180,000 miles- quickly catching up with Gaby's '98 Accord with 190,000. Not ready to let mine go until I'm ready to do more cross-country trips. Right now flying is quicker & cheaper.

Haven't been able to get anyone out to bid on regrading my patio area so I think I'll attempt it on my own. The patio has the right grade to it so I figure I can just start there, putting the pavers right next to it, keeping them level with the patio should keep them at the same grade. Just need to go get me a rake & some paving sand & I'll give it a go. Painted the part of the fence that was behind the shed & really enjoyed doing it. No rush on it as long as I get it done before we get rain again - which is 'who knows when' :?

My brother has an overnight layover in LA Saturday night so he'll stay here. Looking forward to catching up with him. Plus he just might want to get his hands a little dirty in the patio area.

Well, I'm going to run to Home Depot.
Stay safe out there.

Velda, that is so cool about the phone call! Mel just wants you to know he is OK and still with you. I totally believe they communicate with us from the other side, watching over us and helping when they can. I got many signs and dream visits from my mom the first few years. Still get some now and then.

Haven't seen much of my roommate yet. She leaves early in the morning for work and I leave before she gets home. By the time I get home, she is already in bed. I have Saturday off so will probably see more of her then.

Mel has made his presence known more than the call, but it's not something I really want to share. I had been waiting to "hear" from him and I am.
Had a productive day with calls and Curves etc. one day at a time. Still can't decide whether I want to drive 150 mikes south to my HS picnic Saturday in the van with having to mess with filling water tank and empty tanks on way home since it would be dry camping. Just not sure I'm ready for the boisterous crowd yet.

Velda -

You're doing just fine. There are so many details to handle! I'm sorry you had the death certificate problem. Hope it straightens out quickly. I still talk to my soulmate all the time and he's been gone 11 years! I also still see signs from time to time that he is trying to watch over me. Not as often as in the beginning, but just often enough to make me sure his spirit is around sometimes. I feel lucky because I'm not sure everyone picks up on their particular signs. Keep your mind and heart open and bless the times you receive messages.
