Campground Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Campground Thursday

Morning. Sitting her on the couch watching the weather trying to decide if it’s going to rain or be sunny. Hoping sunny wins out. RV techs coming to park this morning to give Talk and demonstration on winterizing.

Left earlier than planned to head up here. Last Saturday instead of Monday. Just managed to get couple of walk in sites for two nights. Parks are so busy, that if you don’t get to office way before they open, you are out of luck. My friend is changing sites to one opening today till we leave here next Saturday and she was there at 7 a.m. this morning. Another friend who lives in U.P. Here was here at 6 a.m. Office opens at 8. Two more people arrived later. It’s been crazy trying to get walk in sites up here. We barely got in yesterday. I do have the original reservations for Sunday through next week though.

Having all kinds of troubles and fun at same time. Was sick one night from either food poisoning or tummy bug, lost wallet with money, license, credit card etc. Anyway, all set for now. Friend has been having some issues too. Ahh life. Weather has been mixed bag with rain, storms, sun, clouds etc. That’s camping.

Off to to Tech presentation. Will catch up to y’all later.

Wow, Sue, sounds like an adventure!

Morning all, we are back from our month and a half in Florida. Enjoyed it for the most part but have to say I’m really ready to see some new places. We may go back during the winter for a little bit, but I’m hoping for a new view after that.

We’re thinking about some fun Midwest trips we’d like to take next spring/summer. Head up to the UP, go see friends in Minneapolis, visit Lake Superior again, nice places that don’t need a three day drive to get to.

Sue, a lost wallet sounds like more than trouble. It sounds like a nightmare.

Barbie, hope you can get your fleas under control. I'm surprised I don't have a big problem with all the cats I have. I was using Revolution on the house cats and the cheap drops on the outside cats. Since Revolution has gone to $25 a dose I only put it on Annie last month because of her allergy and put PetArmor on the other house cats. I have to fog the old house where the outside cats eat about once a month. If I see a flea jump on my foot when I go to feed I lock the cats out, pick up their feed bowls and set off a fogger. I have to be really sneaky to get the drops on the outside cats. As soon as they smell the drops on one they all scatter.

About noon yesterday a storm came through with a lot of lightening. The electricity went off and came back on twice and then went off and stayed off. I left at 1:00 and it was still off so I don't know how long it was off. On my way to town I met 4 fire trucks, a sheriff's vehicle and an ambulance headed South past my house. I never did find out what went on. While I was in Lafayette it stormed in Abbeville. When I came back the ditches were full of water. I had a couple of hours to kill before my club meeting so I went to visit Harold's best friend.

There wasn't any good news at the lawyers office. The judge has a problem with my son's will because it's not a Louisiana will, it's a military will. He has probably never seen a military will before. We'll see how long that takes to get resolved. The lawyer wants me to name a second person on my medical power of attorney after my son in case he can't be reached. My sister is 2 hours away so don't know that naming her would do any good. I am running out of relatives. The lawyer seems to be worried about something happening to me. I wonder if he knows something I don't.

I need to mow but it looks like it's clouding up to rain again. At this rate I'm going to have to mow high and then mow again.

Martha, I have a friend across country as my medical power of attorney. I picked her because I know she'll follow my wishes and the person doesn't have to be closer.

Barbie... I had a family of raccoons who spent nights near my rv one summer. Peaches picked up fleas just leaving or entering the rv. The park let me use the public bathrooms and she got a bath in Dawn dish soap daily until we left. And I carried her in and out of the rig for several sites until we left. Good luck!

Sue, I had my wallet stolen once years ago. No fun!

I have "lost" my wallet several times. I can usually track back in my mind where I used it last and if I don't immediately panic it decides to get found just where I left it last....

Being of a certain age I try to be extra careful about keys and purses and wallets and phones..... They all seem to enjoy roaming around if I don't keep them under surveillance when a am finished with them.

An emergency room lesson learned: For the past few days, I have been having brown urine, which means it has old blood in it. No pain, but I wanted to confirm that I was passing a kidney stone and that my kidneys were OK, so I went to an emergency room after trying an urgent care place that said I really needed a cat scan.

While I was in emergency room, they tested my blood and my potassium came us extremely high, so they were starting to treat me for high potassium which can be very dangerous as it causes arrhythmia. However, after much discussion of whether I should be admitted to the cardiac floor, and two hours later, they decided to check the lab results. Oops, lab error!! More blood determined it was within normal range. So I went in for a potential kidney stone, which they confirmed, but they also started to reduced my blood potassium, which is also very dangerous, and sent me to a cardiologist!!!!!!!!

I should have insisted they double check blood before treating me. Six hours later, they sent me home with a recommendation I see a urologist. Duh. Kidney function is normal, also.

WOW Judy, what an experience. And people wonder why I, as a nurse, try everything in my power to avoid medical facilities unless I am getting a paycheck LOL I did wait a little too long last April, had a powerful kidney, uti infection, was really sick, fell, broke my elbow...OK I wont wait that long again.

Still smoky here but we are supposed to get some breezy conditions this afternoon. Not sure if that will be good or bad for the fires, but the smoke should lessen hopefully.

Feeling very house bound so my friend Malia and I went out to lunch yesterday. She has been busy dealing with the medical profession all week so she was glad to go out also. We are trying to figure out somewhere to go where it wont be so smoky so might check out Lake of the Woods. Easy drive up and good burgers up there. Not sure yet about the smoke.

Was supposed to have the DirecTV VIP Installer here yesterday between 8=12. By 1pm I left to go to lunch. I did go online and cancel, rescheduled for Sat, we shall see. BUT I dont have anywhere to go on Saturday.
