My Soon to be New "Old" Rig

Postby Bethers » Sun Sep 24, 2017 5:42 pm

For about 1 1/2-2 years I've been looking at downsizing and getting a used Class B. I've been swayed by some of the newer models, like Liz's and a couple others (was seriously impressed with the manufacturer who now owns Road Treks rigs... Which they carried into hers. But while my plan is downsizing again I also determined I want to pay less and hopefully put money in the bank when my Winnie sells.

The deal is 95% complete... It's a 1999 American Cruiser... Almost identical to Linda's. And the pics below were taken by the seller.

There's a great YouTube video of this model. https://youtu.be/WeBmBTkTMDI

This has been challenging... The seller and rig are in Michigan. I used a mobile repair service to check it out and he's taking delivery sometime between tonight and Wed and will do some work for me. Then
I wasn't sure how I'd be getting it to Arizona, but today that seems to be falling into place. Whew lol

I've already gotten rid of three trunk loads of "stuff". Much more will go in my storage casita in Arizona. Just think, taxes etc will have a home NOT in my rig LOL

I've already arranged to have solar installed in Arizona... We just have to look at the roof to determine what panels will fit.

Congrats Beth. The ONLY thing I didn't like about my Roadtrek was the aisle shower. No way you could shower and NOT get other things wet.

I can. I haven't decided yet whether I will be. Eventually I'd like to get a 125 or 150 cc scooter. But this can go anywhere... So... I still have decisions to make LOL

Beth,

I am little late to the party. Congratulations on your new rig. I like the layout. I will probably end up in a Class B eventually. I have been looking at Chinooks that have a similar layout. I like the permanent bed. Have fun with your travels in your 'new' Class B.

I plan to be there the whole week! I have tons to do with the new/old rig.... Hopefully without a lot more cost. She's got new shoes and new good aux batteries. Have to replace some stuff/fix some stuff inside and add solar. But solar might wait for next year.

Beth, didn't you own a scooter at one time before? I was thinking you and Sharon Souter both owned one...
