Hi everyone! I am a native Northern Californian, currently living in Arizona. For the past year I have been blessed with having a dream job that allows me to work remotely, so I've decided that it's time for me to take advantage of that to pursue my other longtime dream of RV living. I am an avid traveler who moves WAY too often.
My current thoughts are to spend about 1/3 of the year in Arizona (where my mom and several other family members have retired to), 1/3 of the year in California (where most of my friends and other family are) and the other 1/3 going where ever the spirit takes me. I recently parted ways with a 25-year partner, although happily we are still good friends. Sadly he didn't exactly share my passion for the nomadic life - so I am looking at this as an opportunity to embrace my freedom to roam.
I can't begin to say how thrilled I was to find that there are so many wonderful resources online for this lifestyle, especially places like this, for women going it alone! I have previously travelled alone throughout Europe and have been to 48 of the 50 states during a 3-month solo road trip by car, so the concept isn't entirely new to me - although I confess the idea of driving such a large vehicle by myself is a just a wee bit intimidating!
I still have a little less than a year on my current lease before I can actually buy an RV, and am using this time to purge, downsize, do a ton of research, take RV driver safety lessons and make a couple test runs by rental. I look forward to learning all the lessons you more experienced folks have to teach, and being inspired by your stories! I will read through the forums and see what I can learn there before bothering y'all with a ton of questions, but I look forward to getting to know you, both here on the forums and eventually out on the road!
Happy travels,
Connie
