Mid-February Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mid-February Sunday

Postby IrishIroamed » Sun Feb 12, 2017 8:45 am

Mornin' ladies~~~

Been really busy around here so have been mostly just reading and keeping up with all of the going's on. Sue still doing projects. Do you ever sit down? :P Ava's birthday adventure, Barbie just about ready to head back to MN, Martha and the kitties, etc.

Project is live ~ giving it 1/2 thumbs up. The project itself was up & running, but some post go live issues, mostly due to some processes being deployed during my project and no on bothered to pass along the information, so a couple of scrambles going on, but nothing we can't fix within a week or two.

Colt is officially gone :( He was a good little trailer for learnin' Signed the papers on Colt 2.0 yesterday, but he is staying at the dealer for now. Did the walk thru yesterday and did not find any pains that I didn't know about, which is the handles for draining tanks. Anyone know of a way to extend them easily? And I have drawers in the kitchen! Thought I did, but the brochure shows a cabinet. The little things gotta make ya happy.

BIL's surgery on his back was not a piece of cake like he thought (i.e. outpatient and 100% better immediately). He's in a lot of pain and is now in rehab for 4 weeks. He is not a happy camper. Dad lost his wallet in FL this week which everyone knows causes a big bother all over the place. NO news with Ma so that's good news I suppose.

Have a good day everyone and stay safe where ever you are.

Good morning gals! :D

Slept good last night. Yesterday was slow going but I managed to get quite a lot done around here. Today I have to pack up my clothes, personal stuff, food, and do one last load of laundry. A little bit of cleaning too, and then will be hopefully ready to load the trailer when I pick it up tomorrow morning. Would like to be on the road by noon tomorrow.

Am planning to drive about 5 hours per day. i will adjust that depending on how I feel along the way, tho, and according to the road and weather conditions. So far the weather looks pretty good. I will be right behind the rain system that is coming thru here today and heading east. Clear skies behind that all week.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning ladies
Local parade yesterday, Parada del Sol, grandson school was in
one of the floats and daughter talked me into walking with them.
I was pretty wiped out by the end and had to reschedule my dinner
date with son. I slept so hard last night, didn't wake up til daylight!!
So, today I promise myself to get some housework done. If I do the
kitchen area at least,,,I'll be happy, then I can move on to other
areas. Now that I'm retired, its been said many times,,,when did
I have time to work!?let me add to that,,,,when did I ever have
time to do housework!? Lol
Barbie, have a safe trip back, hope you get a chance to post along
the way.
Time to get some breakfast, y'all have a great day, be safe.

Good morning
A few of us decided to extend our stay at Hardee Lakes. Only able to get 5 nights but thats good for now. Campground filled up over the weekend but is beginning to clear already. The 4 of us staying may have it pretty much to ourselves again.
Our 2 attempts to get local strawberries have failed; we will try again on Monday. It is just one relatively small field and they ran out of berries Thursday and Friday. Owner said she would not open again until Monday and expects more berries to be ready to pick by then.
Cheryl - Liz had both the pull handles and the dump pipe extended on her rig last year. I have't seen it yet but she says it works so much easier. You might check with her about what/how they did it. Believe TriAm in Ocala did hers.

Good morning!
Sunny & cool out here - very refreshing...
Barbie, stay safe - please, do keep us informed of your progress is you're able. Will be praying for clear weather & easy driving days for you.
Ava, that's what I've heard from other retirees - glad you have this problem instead of work issues. Enjoy! Oh & happy belated bday! Looks like you had a real adventure!
Sarah, glad you're out & that you were able to extend your stay. :)
Cheryl, good to hear that the project is in.There's always some gotchas afterwards that just need to be dealt with - onward, always onward... Sorry about Bill's expectations were so vastly off from his current reality - hope rehab helps his pain & healing. And what a bummer about your dad's wallet - that is a pain!

The kids went to Mammoth mountain for skiing & snowboarding this weekend so I had doggie-sitting duty at their house. Poor Sadie - she is definitely an only child & doesn't like having doggie cousins who lick her all the time. Thankfully we don't live too far away so we come back to our own place during the day & only spend the evenings/nights there. Can't wait to hear how Gaby's skiing went - this was her first time, while her hubby is used to skiing the Alps. He promised to be take her only on gentle slopes. ;)

No big plans for today.
Hope you all are safe, warm & dry & able to enjoy whatever today brings your way.

It's hard to believe it's almost the middle of February and it's 86 degrees. I am really going to be unhappy if it freezes again. Hoping for good traveling weather for Barbie.

LOL Ava, on the housework. When I see something I need to do I think I can do it tomorrow. Sometimes it takes tomorrow a long time to get here. I have a habit of running the Rumba on Sunday mornings because Harold is gone for a couple of hours. I had to dump the cat hair 3 times.

I made a recipe from the Pioneer Woman for a Twice Baked Potato Casserole for lunch. The recipe called for 16 potatoes so I halved the recipe. I think a 1/4 would have been plenty. We will be eating potatoes for a while.

Losing a credit card is a royal pain. Harold lost his card getting gas January 5th. I cancelled the cards and they were suppose to send new cards. After about 3 weeks we didn't get new cards so I called them. They wanted me to wait another week. I waited 2 weeks and they are suppose to be sending new cards again. I applied for and received a different card waiting for a new Walmart card. I need to be sure I have different cards from Harold if I'm on the road. He left a card at the local fuel dock last week and they brought it to us.

Almost done packing and cleaning. Just some last minute stuff that will probably end up in a box labeled "misc".

I do need to reroute my trip now tho. There is a winter storm warning for most of the northern third of New Mexico including Albuquerque all along 40 and into the Texas Panhandle. Will watch it tomorrow but will probably have to stay south thru part of Texas anyways. I wonder if I should just take 10 to 20 to Ft Worth and catch 35 north from there? Any thoughts?

ABQ is a mess in snow storms, a lot of wind and white out conditions... I've stayed in roadside cafes for a couple of days at a time in the past.

I'd go on to Texas. You could still hit snow and cold going north, but you'll be past the elevation changes you'd have in northern NM.

I am going to take #10 into Texas and take #20 up to Abilene and then go north from there to OKC and pick up #35 to MN. The winter storm warning is from Albuquerque all the way to Amarillo TX.
