Warming Up Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warming Up Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jul 05, 2016 6:29 am

Good Morning,

Did everyone have a nice 4th yesterday . Was quiet around here. Didn't even feel like a holiday actually. Went grocery shopping in he morning and then made a gate for my porch so I can let the pups out with me when I am out there and keep them inside. Have to finish up closing off another area today. Had a few fireworks popped off last night, but short lived and pups could have cared less. But just to show you how things can get out of hand, some young man set off a firework from the second story balconey of an apt. building about 50 miles from here and set off a fire that destroyed the 16 apt. building. Some people just don't think. Guess some pets were lost to the fire too.

So off to town this morning for some business, Lowes and then home to get back to construction work. Going to get pretty warm, in the mid 80's, so would like to work a bit before it gets too hot. Yesterday was perfect.

Hope you all have a nice day today, no matter what you are doing. keep cool if in the extreme heat. stay safe on the roads, enjoy your travels wherever they take you, prayers for those with health issues.

My little pup doesn't like fireworks at all.

We ended up in a SC state park that doesn't allow them. Besides this state park has horses and stalls, and I guess horse people don't much care for fireworks either.

last year my poor doggy was outside with us when the firework display stated 10 minutes early and he went nuts. At the time I was walking with a cane and it took me a few minutes to catch the little fellow and get him inside the RV where I stashes him under a comfy pillow while I talked soothingly too him. His little heart was just racing something awful, but he pulled through.

So we were happy to have a quiet 4th.

Is anyone at all on the forum in the South Carolina area?

Have a great day!

I lived in South Carolina for many years while my kids were still in school. I lived outside of Greenville and go back each year to visit friends. My Mother lives in Franklin NC, so I hit SC after I visit her. To be honest I was very happy to get back to WI, the south is much to hot for me.

I have one more month of work, already have a couple trips in mind when I am done! Can't wait ---
They are calling for rain here in Mn today and we can use it.

Have a great week everyone and safe travels.

Good morning
Well I'm back in Superior, cleaning out my car today and get it packed up to return
home for a short while maybe longer, don't know. Although the trip was a lot of fun there were a few "deal breakers" that showed up. Not sure I want to go to Oklahoma
on this next trip he has planned. I'm still debating in my mind but leaning on the
DON'T go side of my brain. I've always listened to my gut feelings, but right now its up in the air, therfor, a few days at home will help clear my head.
Found a Phoenix Cruiser for sale in California, the model I want and in my price range.
It certainly will be sold by the time February rolls around but I'm back on track shopping.
Time to get dressed and get some stuff done while its cool still. Y'all have a good day, be safe.

Good morning everyone... living along the intercoastal there are a lot of Boomers for the 4th of July weekend Everyone likes to put them off over the water thank goodness Pheebe doesn't get bothered by them... all I can say again is hot here we can hardly breathe sometimes when you go... I've made a decision I'm going to sell my motorhome... the sooner the better... I can't deal with everything anymore so I can do something about my card I can sell the motorhome and downsize even more and still convinced that he has to sell this house there's some big leaks in the back of house they're going to have to hack out the cement blocks to fix it inside in and out... in a lot of other small two medium-sized repair... I'm no longer able to do all this stuff so it's Gotta Go... well that's my story for the day...have a good day & stay safe...donna

Good morning!
Yesterday I laid low and didn't do much. Went out to the back yard to watch fireworks around the lake. So much on my mind right now that I couldn't really focus on them or enjoy it much.

I talked to my dad's renter, Mark, on Sunday. So far, he isn't planning to move out even after the police incident last week, but he just found out that his son (who lives in San Diego) just lost his newborn daughter on Friday. So he is leaving for SD this morning for several weeks. That leaves my dad alone and without any transportation to the store or doctor appointments. His 90th birthday is Thursday and I have the day off. I am thinking about going over there and telling him that I will come over one day a week and take him to the store, doctor, whatever, EXCEPT not to the bank and I don't want to hear anything about the scammers. Not sure how that will go over. If he gets all bent out of shape, I will leave and he will have to figure something else out on his own. I am right on the edge right now as it is.

I am starting to consider, if I move from here, going to Arizona instead of Florida. It is very affordable and even tho not on the ocean, is close enough to San Diego for short trips there. I love the west and southwest and would be more places for me to explore on my time off. And eventually, would be a hop, skip, and jump to California if I decide to move there later on. Will have to see what transpires here in the next month or so before making a decision.

Need to get ready for work here. Hope you all have a great day! :D

It's getting warmer here, too. I can do errands this afternoon, though, and the van has AC. :) I need more mulch, I think. I have a few other errands to do, too.

"Fireworks" start in the afternoon in this neighborhood with loud blasting noisemakers. Wm doesn't like them much, but fortunately they don't frighten him. That's an especially good thing this year, because he fell down several times on the 3rd. Not epilepsy; just his legs giving out. He's feeling fine again today, thank goodness!

Sitting at the RV dealer waiting for my oil change to get done. Then grocery shopping and back to NApa. Later today I am planning on going to my son's house and cleaning out both kids' closets. Each has grown and has a lot of old junk in there that needs to be tossed. Then we need to determine what they need to fall. Already discovered on camping trip last weekend that grandson's pajamas are about 7" too short!! He is probably going to be tall like his dad and at age 11 has been growing like crazy lately.

It was noisy here in area last night but our cul de sac had its usual safe and sane fireworks and we had fun. Plenty of oohs and ahhhs. Our cats watched from the bedroom window. They seem to like the pretty lights. Seems everyone I talk to who were in area with fireworks had a much noisier night than in recent memory and not sure what is up with that but glad that part is over. We enjoyed our burgers and salads and I will post the Watermelon ice cream in recipes as it was a winner. A few errands today and thankfully we have cooled into the mid 90's. Have a good week all.

I watched the 4th show and fireworks on PBS last night and that was all the fireworks I saw. I didn't hear one boom around here. I had to go to New Iberia and made the big loop up to Lafayette and back to Abbeville. All the firework tents I saw are still up and running. About all I did was go to Sam's. The Shoe Station is having a clearance sale but It's jut to hot to shop. Like I need more shoes. lol

My grandson is a little taller than I am but that's not saying a lot. I hope he takes after his dad because his mother is only about 5'. He has always been small for his age. My first husband and his family were all 6' and over. I looked like a midget in the family pictures.

Just had a huge nasty storm come thru southern MN. We didn't get the tornadoes or hail where I live but it sure got really green looking outside! I was at work and we got a ton of rain for a long time. The sun came out just a few minutes ago as the storm was moving on and I got this shot of the double rainbow out my window (I am home now). It was a lot brighter in person!
