FREE FRIDAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FREE FRIDAY!

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Apr 17, 2009 6:07 am

Good Morning All you campers and campers-to-be!

I did book me another sick day! Hence, no alarm clock to rudely awake me at 4:30! I just stoked up my wood fire, as while I'm home, I have the kerosene Monitor stove turned off. It was a beautiful sunny day up here yesterday, and got almost to 60! It's a warm 22 for morning right now, so might get really nice again here today. I feel way much better this morning, but had already told school yesterday that I was taking another day, as I still had a fever. Fever feels gone today (my skin doesn't hurt any more----a fever sign for me!) so I am hoping to get some yard and home chores done.

I tried to start the Kicker yesterday, which is in front of my trailer in the shelter, but the starter, which was iffy at best, finally gave up the ghost. I will call the local towing-repair shop guys today to come pick it up and replace the starter and put in a new battery for it. Fiddling with the wire to the starter just didn't cut it any more yesterday. 50 attempts in and out of the car and fiddling, along with a jump starter on it, and NOTHING! Peculiar, as I managed to get it started even in the horrid cold all winter long. I can't wait to be able to get it up and running for my back trails and to use it to carry all my 'stuff' to the leanto so I can stay there during Spring Peeper season. How I LOVE to hear that chorus in the spring!

Coffee is brewing, and I have a cup of instant Hazlenut while waiting for the good stuff.....help yourselves.

We might get some rain later in the day, and probably tomorrow, so I need to make good use of this grea sun that's rising now. Molly and I will walk to the pond today and see what needs to get done to the leanto. I am anxious to try out my new 12-volt digital TV down there, too, if I can rig up an aerial for it! Some of our local stations have free-over-the-air digital broadcasts now!

Hope you all have a fun day, wherever you may be.

Happy travels!

Morning all. Sparkle and I were supposed to go up in a hot air balloon today but it was canceled due to the weather. We're going to try again on Sunday.

On battery power here - and have used most of it doing business. But just had to say hi to all you great women.

Have a wonderful day.

Good morning Soos and Bethers!

If you go in a balloon, pictures, pictures, Beth!

Soos, I'll bet it is lovely at the pond this morning... I'm envious!

For me it will be more outside work. The challenge of being single is that there is only me to do my "honey-do" list!

Have a great day everyone!

Good Friday morning to you all!

Roe is all afluster this morning as he watches me go back and forth to the rv. He knows we're going camping tonight! We're going to the National Forest cg (campground) we couldn't go to last time because of forest fires in the area. The FL scenic trail goes right by the cg. Tomorrow we will also hike the Yearling Trail, so named because it is in the area where Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings lived with the Long family in order to do "real life" research for her novel, "The Yearling." The most interesting part of that trail is the Long family cemetery.

As I'm packing the rv for tonight, I am also considering what I'll need for the AK trip, what can come out, and where things are best stowed. My original plan to stow chairs & grill in the passenger side compartment did not work our as I found that sweating occurs regularly in that compartment, making things wet and moldy if not attended to right away. So now only things that will not be harmed by dampness will go there and the chairs are now in the back compartment. I also put a container of Damp Rid in the side compartment to see if that helps.

Back to work/fun... hope you all have a great day. Can't wait for the balloon ride story. Cedar, is this your last vacation day? Do something fun!

Sunshine, Sunshine we have sun for the day! Actually we had a bit of sun yesterday for first time in a while.

I planted a few sultanas in large pots on back porch. Then left Nicky for a long run with his playmate while I went for hearing aid evaluation. Hearing was checked earlier this week - 60% loss on one and 45% on the other. Anyway,I came home with a pair of hearing aids late yesterday. This will require some getting use to, not sure I can cope with all that noise  .

Hope everyone has a great day.
