I am still using 8.1. I got messed up a couple of months ago and I took it to my computer repair guy. He totally cleaned out the computer and then reinstalled the 8.1 again. And it's been working great, if not better. Took out a lot of "junk" that 8.1 had in it. There are a lot of bugs that needed removing persay within the program itself. He advised me not to load Windows 10 in for awhile yet as they are still working out some "bugs" in that too and later on will probably be better. Like a new car, need to get those "little things" worked out before one decides to buy it. I'm really happy with how my computer is working with 8.1 and have no desire to change at this time.

I haven't updated yet, but will at some point, or buy new, because I'm having a lot of things having issues with my current version.

Sandi ~ Go to Best Buy or somewhere so you can play with it. It's not bad.

For anyone who solely uses a computer to surf the internet, send emails, and play with their pictures, consider a chromebook next time. It boots instantly and it's only function is to get you to the internet. You can still create documents, you just use google-docs, not Word by any stretch, but very functional. The biggest plus is the cost, I paid $275 for mine and it is everything I need.

I am relying more and more on my iPad, first the old generation 1 and now the new Pro. I was reluctant at first at using for bank and such, but now I pretty much use for everything, only turning laptop on for backing up my iPads and phone. My son, a beta tester for MS, put win 10 on the laptop and it's ok, I just like my iPad better. And yes I paid considerably more than $275 for it, but hubby said get what I want and I did! :D I have heard in past week that MS will soon end free upgrades to 10 but did not see date but suspect if you want to do it, don't wait too long. I'm blessed that my son could do it for me. In fact I didn't want to but he insisted and gave valid reasons so I reluctantly said ok. It's ok I guess.

Well in 2006 I bought a Mac laptop (pricey) because everyone said "if you go Mac you won't go back". I bought several books teaching me how to go from Windows to the Mac.....what a total waste of money for me. I never did get the hang of the Mac, in fact I hated it, so it is still in "time out" in my closet 10yrs later LOL I have an IPAD and don't like it much either. My IPOD touch just hangs out in my car for music. I love my Kindle and my Windows PC and my Toshiba laptop. I did upgrade to 10 and I like it so far, have not had any issues.

When ATT had the IPhone I was sooooo wishing I had ATT so I could get one but fast forward a couple years when they were open to all carriers I went to Verizon and played with it and did not like it. I did like the Samsung Galaxy phone and still love the Android system so guess I will stay in my rut.

Karen, we're in the same rut. And this winter, using an I phone at work for over two months convinced me to personally stay with Android.

I upgraded to Windows 10 last year and discovered one annoying thing: Windows 10 does not come with a media player function. So, if you like to watch DVD's on your laptop (as I do occasionally) you'll have to download one of the many (fortunately) free media players available. I got VLC media player and it's worked fine since day one.

Really irritated with MS wanting me to upgrade to 10 on my PC! No way to click "no!" So that dialog box continues to take up booting time on my PC.
That said, after getting an iPad 1, I now only use my PC (Win 7 Home Edition), for my finances (Quicken). I did get a Mac Pro but only use it for backing up my iPhone/iPad on iTunes. Other than that I don't feel the Mac is all that user friendly.
Would be lost without my iPad/iPhone.

My netbook is a POS, and my laptop is really too big and heavy for my lap, so am seriously thinking of getting a little Chromebook for doing emails, FB, etc on while sitting on the couch. WM has one for only $139, so I think I will try that. Sounds pretty easy to use and fast too. I can keep my laptop on my desk and use that for my autobiography on MS Word.

One word of caution on Chromebooks (love them) be sure the screen is decent. Some are harder to read than others, just a quality thing I'd guess. Mine is okay, but my next one will have better resolution.

In case anyone is passing thru the Las Vegas area, a new art installation has been created along interstate 15 - 21 miles south of Vegas. It will be here for 2 years so if you drive by an wonder what it is, here is some info.

Cheryl, thanks for posting the link to the Seven Mts sculpture along I-15. What a neat thing to see as one drives along the highway. Last Dec somewhere along I-25 between Raton Pass and Denver I saw American flags placed atop knolls for miles and miles. Had no idea who placed them or why, but they held my interest. Peggy

Picked up the motorhome today, the generator and electrical stuff all works now.
I even checked out the cruise control on the way home. Its now usable!!! One more
and Bills 3 grandsons will be here and end of June we will use the motorhome to
take them back. We'll be up in the Reno area. Took a nice drive on some local jeep
trails today, weather was nice but could have been cooler.
