Hi just wanted to let everyone know Dave and I along with our dutch oven group will be at Hardee Lakes January 15-18. This is our usual get together not the cooking competition etc. that we did this past February. I think several people will be joining us as I have been talking about it on Facebook. Thanks for the heads up. I am hoping to be in Brookville at the dog shows that week but I had seen the Hardee Lakes reservation number that you posted and copied it down. It is one of the places I am hoping to visit either before or after the shows. There are about three busy weeks in January that ought to keep Audrey and Josef busy. So, though I may not make it that weekend I definitely want to get back and have a chance to take more beautiful walks around the lakes and down the roads. Hope you guys have a good turn out and lots of fun and good food!

Thanks Vickie. Dates may be a bit too early for me to make this one but I do plan to go to Hardee Lake while in FL. Hope to catch up with you, Dave and others probably sometime during Feb or Mar.

I will post when I know or decide anything. With solar available I wasn't going to worry that I couldn't find a place to park after seeing the campground last year. Mayby not on the lake but I think I can fit in somewhere.

As you are aware... thank you Sarah.... I'm in a Facebook Women's RVing Group (GRITS - Girls RVing In The Southeast) and we were trying to have a GTG at Hardee Lake during the time you were there in January. However, for a few the January date is a tad early in the year for them. I'm thinking of holding off until you make your February plans then jump on that. Don't think we would have more than 5-8 campers and I, for one, would LOVE to see DO cooking in progress and learn tips.

Will watch the forum for a heads up on your February Date.

Made our reservation today. We arrive on Friday, Jan 15 and depart Tuesday, Jan 19. We are in site 50. Hope that site is a good one?

I will be there also coming on the 15th and departing on the 22nd I will be there a week.... made my reservation already site number 49... sure wish I had a DO pot to cook in... think I will be checking out some antique malls looking for one I want to try my hand....

Ladies, I am very interested in this. I am just roaming around Florida. Can you give me more info, I have a Dutch oven and a volcano 3 that I am just learning to use. Do you think it is too late for reservations?

Hi Louise it's good to hear from you... we met at Hillsborough in 2012... I do not think you will have a problem getting a site at hardee lakes... it would be great to see you again come and join us...donna aka grammynmaggie

I haven't made a reservation yet but think I will head that way on the the 18th. I know that most folks will be gone but I will be in Brookville at dog shows until the 18th. Looks like Donna will still be around and I have been wanting to come back ever since I had to leave early last winter. I love the hiking choices around all the lakes. I will probable stay about a week until I need to be back in the Ocala area for the dog show up there. From there I have a couple of weeks with no reservations. May look on line and see if Silver River is accepting reservations yet. Other possibilities are McIntosh of the Nation Forest campground east of Ocala.......that is all the jello I have for now.
