WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!!!

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

The temperatures here in Olando are record-breaking cool, but still warm enough for Laura and me to hang out at the pool and Jacouzzi-----which is finally, as of yesterday, UP AND RUNNING!!!!

Yesterday was great for two reasons----I had just ridden my bike to the pool and was ensconced in the Jacouzzi when my son showed up with a shopping list in his hand. I assumed he wanted to check out the temp of the water and make sure the jets were finally working. I asked him where he was going, as I hadn't known he had any plans for yesterday. He casually, with an uncontrolable uplift of the corners of his mouth, said ,"Oh I have a few things to do------before I begin my new job on the 27th!!!"

I shrieked and clapped and danced around the pool, crying with tears of joy for him! (Luckily we were the only people there!) If he had ever designed a job for himself, it couldn't be any more perfect than this one. He is an aquatic entomologist/fisheries biologist, with full benefits, paid vacations, bonuses, etc. etc!! They provide him with work official uniforms, so he doesn't even have to update his wardrobe!

SOOO....we still had 10.00-OFF coupons for the Lobster Feast place left over from our first foray there, and the 4 of us went out to dinner there again to celebrate! (I managed to pack away another 8 lobsters!) What a perfect joy to be here to see my son get his first specially-designed job!! YIPPEEEE!!!!! Both of my kids (that I raised) are now officially employed and on their way in life. I can turn over the expenses for this house to Melissa and Weldon, and put all that money that I have been paying forever for this place toward my 2010 retirement!!!!

Sooos, that is wonderful news about your son. Great to hear you are really getting to enjoy your trip as well. Are there going to be any lobsters left when you leave FL?

We have a nippy start to the day but weather is to start a decent warm up this afternoon, couple of days break in the rain and then it may be time to reconsider building an ark again. Blueberries were in full bloom when this last cold snap hit; hopefully it did not wipe out the entire crop for the year.

I've still got some straightening up to finish before company. Clutter, clutter everywhere. Also have to review taxes today before accountant files them. Two unpleasant tasks; then maybe I can find one that is more enjoyable to end the day.

Congrats Soos to your son. Nothing like that feeling of relief and happiness when our children succeed and are happy in what they do. Maybe we did something right or we got lucky. Whatever, nice that you can now start saving for that well deserved retirement. And please, save some of that lobster for me when I get back to FL. carold

Happily enjoyed another day of training. I am enjoying meeting all the other individuals that have signed on for these projects. The reasons are as diverse as the people and it is nice to talk with adults (Not just animals...) and find out about their interests, backgrounds, etc.

Congratulations Sooos! Sounds like a great vacation and being in the right place at the right time to experience one of those positive parenting moments. I, too, feel that knowing that my two kids have their educations, have work they are good at and enjoy, pay their own bills, live on their own with their significant others (somehow, if you live together...it is beyond gf and bf...) gives me a sense of joy....and the freedom not to worry about them as much...... Now I am making my plans

Being in a hurry here - and being so late in the day, I almost skipped reading this morning post. I would have slapped myself later - - Soos that is fantastic news. Nothing could be better. I know you'll miss having them with you this summer, but oh my - he couldn't have asked for anything better. And for you - you'll be closer to your retirement, which means you'll be able to travel to see them more. I'm tickled pink for all of you.

OKies, off here quickly - running gennie - and hate to look later and see lower gas mileage, even if I do know it's cuz I was running the generator! Oh, and it's worth it - paid $2 tonight for my boondocking spot - absolutely beautiful here. I'm sure Sparkle and I will be taking pics. And she's doing such a great job of posting them, isn't she?

Great news about the job for your son, sounds ideal for him and in todays economy, its wonderful news.!!! So glad for him. Really glad for you, if it helps you get closer to your dreams. Your Fl. trip has turned out way better then you could have ever dreamed, huh? That pool has sure looked inviting. I sure miss mine. Not the work, just the fun I had in it.
