Tomato Cage Christmas Trees

Postby bluepinecones » Sat Dec 05, 2015 10:50 am

Have been making tomato cage Christmas trees. I have a couple more in the works and will add those photos when they are finished. In the meantime, thought I'd share the process and a few of finished product. These are made on 4 foot cages but other sizes are available
Start by gathering your materials - options are numerous

Add lights - I recommend using LEDs as they do not generate heat (I like the warm white for most)

Then wrap with your material of choice, this is a vertical wrap

I added another layer for fluff, then just a few decorations
Image I decided to keep this one but here are a few others I put out for sale at some of my antique mall booths

Looked at 3 Wal-Marts here - no colored cages this time of year but I did find some at Home Depot. I did spray paint a couple of these after discovering how much more expensive the colored one were. By spraying with Rust o leum I think they will last a long time and you can get a good variety of colors as needed.
If I get back to it this weekend the next one will be purple
