Oh, I know what I want already, I'm no stranger to class c's and class a's. My parents had them both for many years and I camped in them. And Melissa was spot on when she said like kissing frogs! My first tc was a real frog! But I found my current one and moved on from there. I may go back and see if that diesel one is still sitting in the driveway down the road from me and talk to my mechanic about it if it is. I'm in no hurry either way. Plus the longer I wait the more money I will have to spend on one!

Sorry to hear the C was a dud. At least you had a good day out with friend. The 2012 tc I had my eye on for $8000 @ Rick's RV is gone. Well, like you said, just more time to save (unless I see a must have at the RV show in February).

Dr.'s office just called, the one on my face is a basal cell cancer. So back I go for MOHS surgery on Feb. 26. The other spots were nothing apparently as she never mentioned them. Well, this isn't my first go-round with bcc.

Not the sort of adventure to seek out but sounds like you have the map to get you through it. Keep us posted.

Here's hoping it's an easy go round.

If I gotta have a skin cancer, this is the one to have. Least aggressive and not very invasive.

I arrived at Chiricahua NM today - am kind of settled in for my two months. Still am off level a bit front to back. Will probably fiddle with that tomorrow - depending on if it's raining or not. My first day of work, officially, is Saturday - will be training. I like the coordinator who hired me and all the park service personnel I met today. Not so sure about the other camphost. It's a couple, but sounds like he does most of the camphosting, she does some work in the visitors center. I didn't meet her today, but he came right over. That was nice, but then he was telling me how I should do everything HIS way. Not sure I'm going to do that lol ... but time will tell. We also share a "vehicle" - not sure what it's called - will find out - and after he told me that he "broke it" shortly after getting it I was told to baby it. And I got a lecture about how it needs to be plugged in - and the way I parked my rig, it would be hard to do, etc etc (I didn't have a lot of choices - the site has trees, rocks, etc) ... I have an extension cord - I'll do just fine. I have a feeling he's one of those who wouldn't have selected a woman as a camphost. That said, we only work one day a week together after the training - otherwise, I'm on my own my other days. Just the way I think I'll like it. And I truly feel that in a few days, he'll be fine, too. But I'm wondering if his attitude is why the other camphost left. The rangers here love him - and his wife - so, I won't rock any boats. I'd like to be able to come back another time, I think - especially in possibly April, May or fall. Those are hard as that's when I'm always working for pay.

Shortly after getting here one of the rangers came by on horseback to say hi. That was kind of neat.

Was a cloudy, sometimes rainy day. Next two should be some more of the same. At above 5000 elevation here, so this will mean cooler temps on the way. But I'm plugged in and my electric heater is working fine! No cell service here - although my phone works right at the entrance, but no data. They have good wifi - for staff - so that's good. He even said I could watch movies, should I want. Guess I won't have any problem watching videos, etc on FB.

I picked up the rest of my uniform today - got 2 short sleeve and 2 long sleeve shirts, jackets, vests, etc. But guess what? The dress code says I'm to wear a belt. The only belt I own is multi-colored and I know wouldn't be acceptable lolol. I'm guessing no one will notice I'm not wearing one as long as I wear a vest or jacket.

Also learned we have free laundry on site. That's awesome. Of course, I'm going to have to learn when to try to do it when it won't be in use - but I'll work that out.

They gave me a phone today - but not a cord that would work to hook it up - the other workamper suggested I go to town and purchase one - said I'd be able to use it other times. I politely told him that they will provide me with one. He acted shocked that I wouldn't just get my own and that I wouldn't want one other times. I told him the only other time in my 10 years I would have used it, I elected to not take the offered phone. Here that's not acceptable, so they WILL provide the cord. He had to go up to the office and guess what? They gave him a 25' cord for me. He also couldn't believe I have a rig without a phone outlet on it. Not a priority of mine. That cord will come right through the drivers door and that's where the phone will sit. Will get it set up tomorrow - while I'm on the clock. Then will have him call me - as the #'s on the paper I was given make no sense - they were supposed to match my site number, but instead, it shows my phone # the number of the site next to me. We'll check that out.

I was supposed to get a walkie today also - but didn't get that. I could do without all this stuff. Ah, I'm sure it'll be coming.

Met the wife today. She seems nice. Talked to the husband several times today - things were okay - and we agreed to start the day tomorrow at 8. I'll probably not be starting till 8:30/9 on my other days. And I'll start later on our shared Saturdays after tomorrow - he can start as early as he'd like and I'll start later and cover into the evening.

Can't wait till later this week when the weather is predicted to be nice for a few days. And it should be right through my days off. Am looking forward to getting out and seeing the beauty all around with the sun shining (and stars shining at night).

Chilly right now. I think we hit 55 for a high today. Supposed to get up to 70 mid to late of this coming week, but, go figure, nights will be colder. I'll be living for the days we get to 70 while I'm here.

Beth, those are the weather temps we have been enjoying here in north central FL. Chilly at night and going up to low 70's during the day. I like them better than having to run the AC.
