I'm still worried about Abby. Both she and Krissi are doing OK eating the chicken and rice and I'm starting to work in some Royal Canin Mini Special food recommended by the vet. I'm wondering once there's more of the kibble than chicken & rice whether they'll eat it. We'll have to see.
But Abby's complete blood test last week indicated high readings for the liver (ALT and AST). We went back today for another check of the liver (ALT) reading and it was only 2 points lower - virtually the same according to the vet. So now they're going to take a conservative approach (since she isn't vomiting, diarrhea, seems happy etc.) and give her a prescription for some antioxidants for a month which are supposed to help the liver. Unfortunately with my personality, if there's something to worry about, I will worry. If it doesn't improve in a month, then an ultrasound and possible biopsy would come next. This is really hard since in the last couple days my relationship with my daughter has just about disappeared. I think being so upset about that has left me with little resistance to worrying about Abby. Life sure is hard.
