Where do four old ladies go when they want to feel glad to be alive? Why Historical Cemetaries of course. We found this one in the old part of Port Lavaca. Karen is contemplating all the flowers. We think that they had The Day of the Dead Celebration fairly recently. There were all kinds of things on the graves, toys, ceramics, even beer and a cigarette!

Birdy couldn't resist tidying up the things that had been blown off the graves

Some of the graves were obviously of fishermen, doesn't this one look the part?

There was one sad gravesite. Father, Mother and three children all died the same day. We assume it was a car accident. There are so many stories in cemetaries.

I missed the cemetary - and hope I miss it for many more years to come. But I did get here while they were having cocktails. And we got to visit a little bit before we all headed to our own rv's. Good to be here - and you'll just have to wait for "the rest of the story" as we haven't made it yet :)

Not much going on today. Went to Walmart nd had lunch at a place a clerk suggested. Bad suggestion. BBQ was apparently good and that was all. The day before Bogie had put his head thru Sparkle's screen door so the job of the day was to teach Sparkle how to replace a screen. How many women does it take to change a screen?

We did it. We don't need no stinkin' men!

There are some really cute mailboxes around here.

Its gotten cold, cloudy and windy. No more sitting outside drinking wine - guess we'll have to move it indoors.

I'm sooooo jealous! You guys are having just way to much fun!!! Yup, no doubt about it, anything a guy can do, we can do! Welllll, almost....I still can't pee standing up w/o making a mess!

Hey Sparkle, remember when we were at the big hole in the ground and I offered to take a picture of that family that had the young mom that had obviously just had chemo? For some reason she flashed in my head just now and I started crying....I sure do hope she's ok. She didn't want to be in the picture and I told her she was beautiful and needed to be in the picture with her family.

Anyway, glad you guys are having fun....ever notice when a few of us get together, no matter where and no matter how many, we have a wonderful time!

Moved the posts to the General Forum about the actual Get Together. We discussed it at lunch and everyone thought that some might miss them in the other room, especially since they were attached to the post for the planning. Maybe the planning should be there - and then the actual get together needs it's own topic - whether there or here. Anyway - now the actual get together is here - and where ever it is - when we do get face-to-face, it's not a bad idea to start a new thread, either place works :)

OK going to get my genie off for the night and go cuddle up with lots of blankets. So good to spend time with forum sisters :)

I loved the pictures of the mailboxes! I'm so envious of your shared time together. Enjoy getting to know each other and getting into trouble. Stay out of jail!   Cheryl

The picture of the man's face on tombstone pix (shown previously in this post) makes me think of a "cleaned up" version of Willie Nelson!!

I was thinking we could all take a run into Mexico and leave our Passports and Green Cards, (where applicable) behind and see what they do with us then. I would feel sorry for them when Karen got going. You should have seen her on the beach when a man was beating his little dog! The next time he raises his hand to that dog I think a picture of Karen is going to rise up before him.

I've never been to the Texas coast before so of course, when I come, it rains buckets and we haven't had any measurable amount for almost a year. Yesterday we all went into old Port Lavaca and had lunch (again) at the Green Iguana. The one thing we ladies do well on our get-togethers is eat! We visited a couple of shops that were closed the other day and Sparkle bought a FLAMINGO!!!! We went back to the beach and all scattered to our rigs. Not sure what's on for today - cold, windy and rainy here still.
