Thanks for the campfire pic. That's a nice one. I just brought another case for "the wall".... and a new box of wine, and a batch of chocolate fudge. Don't laugh,.... white wine and choc fudge = yum! And also,.... I dragged in a cooler of assorted soft drinks. There.... now I'll just plop down in a chair and watch the fire for a while.

Is it just me, or is it taking longer and longer for the first new post to come up? Should we start a Chapter Two of the Campfire?

Glad you kept the fire going and that you stacked up on drinks. Gee----everyone should be happy with your efforts Cedar! I'm in Texas and am just snuggled up watching the campfire with one eye and Vanderbelt gals play Aubourn with the other. I'll take a couple off the wall--one for each hand but don't have time to count!!! Lori!!!!

Okay....lets see....Karen must have taken 3 off the wall since she sang "97 bottles of beer on the wall".....and Cedar brought to the campfire beer wall another case.....assuming that it was a 24 case and not a 30 case.... and Fernie took a couple.....Wait, I think I got it.....97 +24 = 121 -2 =119...Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

we went to a campfire tonight and a log was put on called a tum-tum wood put off these colored flames so pretty if I new where to find it I would bring it to the fire!!! heck i'd bring it to my own and invite you all Oh I never have any problems getting this us.

zipped right up with the latest message for me just now. Couldn't sleep so here I am sitting at the campfire in my bathrobe! Threw on some more wood,.... just sipping herb tea as I want to get back to sleep soon!

I can't sleep either Cedar so I'm joining you with my hot choc. in one hand and a hot cinnamon roll right out of the oven in the other. Sure do enjoy a good campfire----especially one with all the pretty flames. My brother called and let me know he made it home, which I ask him to do. My phone plays Rocky Top so it woke this Tn. gal right up!! HA HA. After I pottied, I couldn't get back to sleep. Ya'll know how that is!! Anyone coming through Dallas headed north, let me know and I'm meet ya for coffee somewhere!! LOL

Well today it was right there, so hush mah mouth! Word of warning. Camping World sells packets of powder to put on wood to get pretty colors. Reviews say it is a waste of money. Now they did say that pinecones soaked in salt water, then dried make pretty flames. I wonder is ocean water is salty enough?

To early to sit down but thought I would drop off some wood while I had it on my hands. Planning ahead for when I will need some and not have the energy to get up and find it. The fire is simmering and waiting for the evening gathering. The squirrels seem to have found some of the left over peanuts that were stored away. Those critters can be as troublesome as bears when they think they have found the mother lode. Better get going on my errands so I can relax later and think I accomplished something....

I just brought in a load of wood too to add to the pile and threw a few more logs on the fire. It is blazing good. It is raining here in Texas so our little fire is just the thing. It is a little chilly this morning but not cold. I got my Earl Grey tea this morning and some goodies I snuck in Barbzeee's kitchen. I got a big pot of vegetable soup on cooking for later today!!

I'm glad everyone is bringing more wood because the weather here has taken a nasty turn away from the spring temperatures of a few days ago. We're back in the 30's with a wind chill in the teens . A nice roaring campfire would certainly keep the cold out. That vegetable soup sounds really tempting. I'm here with an empty bowl and a bunch of crackers! Cheryl

Oh! I love veg, soup, Mother made a big pot Tuesday.. yum yum,Fernie hope all is well in Texas.. raining here to and a little cooler, Hope all is warm around this great fire. keep it going Girl's want be long we wont need it.

Nope, we will always need this campfire. No matter how warm the temps get. No matter who is where or when. No matter how many other campfires might be going. We will still need this one. And want to sit around it at all hours of the day or night.

Where else can ya go and know that no matter what you will find a Sistah or 3 to sit and laugh, joke and share with. Where no matter what there is joy, caring, love and sharing. Where else can you go and you know you will find a shoulder to lean on, to cry on, a hand to hold or a heart to share pain with when something in your life has crashed?

Where else can you go and find someone to tell you to put on your big girl panties and to grab your boot straps? Where else can you go and find someone who cares enough to give ya a swift virtual boot to the azz and a good talking to when your indulging in a pity party for your self?

This might be a virtual campfire but it gives off more warmth and shares more laughter and tears than any real one. Yep we need it.

And speaking of the campfire? I just threw a few pieces of wood on. Dang neighbors work me up a little after 4am. Hooting and hollering, squeeling, laughing, the dang horn on someone's car going, 'beep'-'beep', 'beep'-beep' every time they played with their door lock/alarm remote. Got up dressed in jammies, pottied and went out the door. I hollered and got their attention and asked them if they realized it was 4am and how much racket they were making? Female turned around and said, "AND"? Jeepers give me a break. Told them that they had woken me up out of a sound sleep, that they had woken up my daughter, got the dogs to growling. Let them know that there were some people who were actually asleep at that time of the morning.

Got my coffee in hand. It's straight up this morning, no Baileys or anything else for that matter, just coffee!!!!

YAY---the campfire is nice and warm here! And, as it's only 8 degrees F. out there this morning, it sure does feel good! I am leaving some more kindling and logs, in case it dies down and someone needs to revive it. Coffee by the fire seems like a great way to begin my Saturday of household chores, and taking Molly to the vet's for her annual exam . I hope you all have a great day!
