Monday travels

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday travels

Postby carolb » Mon May 12, 2014 6:10 am

G'morning all! :)

Wow, been a while since I've opened MC! In MN, trying to keep between a couple of huge rain systems--thankfully not snow  I need to get on my way so this will be short.

Belated happy mom's day to all--yes, fur, feather & fin "moms," too! Anita, great news about the "estranged" daughter!!!

Missed Pat in SD, I was too far north...Barbie, where are you? Sue sent me great info for touring UP, & has graciously offered time at her home. Looking forward to it :D

As always, have a great day & be safe!! 8-)

Morning Carolb and all,

Carol, hope you can keep out of the rain. Take you time heading across the U.P. as that storm system is moving through MI now and rain predicted for here and up there (some areas) for today and tomorrow. TStorms also possible here. Make sure you take in the Porcupine Mts. too while you are in the western part of U.P. and Marquette is a lovely town to visit especially the waterfront area. If you are lucky you will catch an ore boat loading at the docks. Just watch for a sign in Marquette for a street called Wright Street, by Target on M-28 and follow that down to the water. Right takes you to lower harbor and it's beautiful park and left takes you to the ore dock and Presque Isle park. I just got an email from my friend downstate. She too is coming up this week, not sure what day, but come ahead anyway. The more the merrier. Room in drive to park rig.

Sounds like everybody had a nice Mothers Day. Seems like the neighbors around here decided it was a good day to work in yards as things were buzzing around with lawn tractors going and what not. Was a nice day even with clouds more than sun, but quite warm in the mid to upper 70's.

I started work in my TT yesterday. Got the bathroom where I want it for the most part and am now working on the dinette seats. With friend coming up this week, the new cushions and reupholstery will be getting done, but we will also have some fun times too especially if Carol is here.

Today I call vet on Sassy and probably take her in for blood work. She's eating as long as I fix her some chicken, turkey or tuna fish. Otherwise forget the "dog" food. I want the other stuff instead. I may have to buy a chicken farm  She doesn't like veggies, never has and not too keen on rice either although I made brown rice yesterday and cooked it in chicken broth instead of water and she did eat what I added to the chicken, but not if I gave it to her alone. We did go for a nice walk yesterday and she had a stare down with a bunny along the way. He finally took off and had I not had her on leash, she probably would have made a half hearted attempt to follow.

Need to go out and get some supplies to continue working on TT. Naturally, I have every size screw here except the ones I need  and Also need a few other things as well. So depending on vet visit, will do that today as well. Always fun getting that kind of stuff. Debating as to whether or not I want to cut doors into side of dinette for easier access than having to lift off cushions, but might wait and see how it goes. I have what is called a kiddie dinette, so not too bad to get under there and I plan to store stuff I don't use often in there. Shall see.

So, guess it's time to stop jabbering and get the day moving along here. Dishes to put away and load of wash to fold before I call the vet's office. So you all have a wonderful and safe day out there.

Good Mornin' Carol, Sue & all that follow.

Carol - glad you are out & about and have a chance for some GTGs with a few of the northern folks.

Sue - so glad to hear that Sassy is eating something. Will send puppy prayers to her that her blood work looks good. Maybe turkey legs? One of my angel furkids lived on them for years.

Sarah - will continue wishes for your niece that she gets through the chemo. Stay healthy yourself please.

Kathleen & all the other ladies who may be suffering from falls, bumps, bruises, allergies, eye problems, etc, I am sending healing thoughts your way also.

Beth - seems like you're enjoying your new gig for this summer. Awesome,

And as for the Bickersons (Mitch & Vickie) - what can I say other than I'd love to be a fly on the wall, but with you 2, I'm sure I'd get whacked easily with fists flying, etc. Know you 2 won't behave yourselves, what fun would that be anyway. (And yes - I second Anita - Catherine - give us a spew alert warning! )

Good Morning... We have very humid weather here after last nights storms... more coming in today... ours were not tornado storms... thank the Lord...

Mothers day was like sweet and sour chicken... My daughter Margie and her family took me to Olive Garden I chose the chicken and dumpling soup... I got a second bowl for lunch today... I also had some salad and bread sticks...

Even though it is sad it helps to know that others have estranged children... My son did not call... first time ever that he has missed so many holidays calling... we were always so close even when he was a child... as for my twins hopefully within two weeks or so they will not be my twins legally...

I got a lovely crock pot from My daughter Margie and family... I have chicken and a can of tomatoes cooking now... for dinner... lunch will be left over soup... I wanted a white one that was more than 2 qts she found one that was white with yellow flowers and it is 2 1/2 qts... perfect size for me...

My back is healing thanks for the prayers...

Sarah do take care... Carolb be sure to take time in the UP, there it takes you back in time... there are some beautiful sights you don't want to miss... pictured rocks is beautiful well worth the cost of the boat.. However make sure you have your camera supplies they are beyond expensive on the boats... Irmi and Steve safe travels... Anita you too, drive safe everyone...

You all mean so much to me we have become family for many of us...

Me and My Shadow are sending you thoughts for sunshine...

On editing Cheryl came in... have a great day lady!!
Kathleen or Kathy

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

Good morning all. Was woken up by the fire alarm in my building, but luckily no fire, just annoying alarm for half an hour, and angry neighbors  . More rain over night and more coming today. May not be able to play golf tonight. The course will be very soggy tho, if we do.

Have the day off, so will be cleaning and sorting today. Breakfast first tho. :D

Carolb, I sent you a PM, so if you are anywhere near me today, I might be able to meet you somewhere for a mini GTG. (You are probably well on your way by now tho).

Have a safe, dry, happy day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning,

Carolb, nice to have you open MC!!

All of you with ouchies, I hope you are feeling better each day.

It's going to be a beautiful day! I have an eye appt - need to be able to read road signs!!

Great time with daughter and grandson again yesterday - even tho we were doing yard work and laundry! Went to a Mexican restaurant for an awesome seafood burrito full of veggies and seafood.

My daughter's mother-in-law says it is very inconvenient for me to be here Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend!! The kids were to go help with chores Memorial Day weekend until they learned I wouldn't be in town long. Her mother-in-law's comment was 'but you are suppose to paint the fence'! The woman has neuropathy but can do zumba tho she can't paint her own fence!! Don't know why her hubby can't paint it. She has always been a self-centered, selfish bwitch. Laid a real guilt trip on my daughter. End of rant.

Everyone have a wonderful day and safe travels to all on the road

I feel so lucky that I got to see Carolb in her whirlwind drive through.

Anita, I'm both laughing and crying about your daughter's mother-in-law. I so sympathize with your daughter. I loved my in-laws BUT they wanted us over for everything, ever week, etc. I am so blessed that my own mother was so easy going about everything - and often I'd bring her with to the in-laws (who, were fine with that) - but then caused trouble with my own family who didn't understand why she came with me to my in-laws instead of to THEIR houses. It's so hard to please everyone. And your grandkids have their priorities straight - you are only there a short time - of course they want to spend their time with you.

I'm hoping that if and when the weather here breaks again we will have seen the last of this winter weather. I mean, it's the middle of May! I feel guilty complaining after I had such a wonderful winter, weatherwise. But the locals really, really are tired of this. I think temps are about 20 degrees below normal. It's 34 right now - windchill of 25 or below. Enough already. High today should get to a whopping 43, but winds are to increase, also - so probably won't feel any different. Good day to work - and since the next two days are supposed to get marginally better - but not enough - they'll be good days for me to get that website built I need to get done. Sightseeing might be put on hold this week. But I do need to find time to organize all the pictures I've already taken.

good morning, at least for another half hour, then its good afternoon :D
two weeks to go for school, can't wait til its over with. I'm so done with all the dang politics and stuff going on, the older
I get, seems like the more it bothers me. I stay out of it, but don't like to listen to it.
I'm still so sore today, having a hard time climbing the stairs on my bus but I know its actually good for me to try and walk
it all out, the soreness that is. The extra strength pain killers from the OTC medicine cabinet help too. :D My legs have
always been my strong point, but not today.
About time to get out in the yard and water my two plants and let Maggie do her thing, then it will be time to get back to
work.
Enjoy your day, whats left of it anyway.
