Goooood Morning Sistahs!!!!
Brrrrrr it's pretty dang chilly on the back porch this morning and the wind that's blowing hard out there of course makes it worse. The wind is blowing hard enough that it makes the pant legs on my jammies flap and snap.
Barbz you have my support in what your doing that's for sure. I know we've had dogs that would have caused a problem to rescue crew. Luckily the one time something did happen my Dad had the dog under control. It's not a pretty picture to have in mind of what to do when the person on the floor is in a life threatening condition and a dog wont let anyone near. When to make the decision and how do to make that decision to put down an animal to save a life. I wouldn't think it would be an easy thing for most anyone to live with. Not if you have any heart at all. When I was a kid we had German Shepards who were extremely protective of the family. Which in one way was a very good thing but it did cause more than a few problems. Mom would have to have Dad put them out if she was gonna discipline me. The one time she forgot and cracked my butt with a paddle, one dog grabbed her by the arm and held her. The other dog got in between us to guard me. Oh boy was my Mother PO'd. LOL Yet they would have turned right around and done the same to anyone to protect Mom. So how does anyone make the decision to put the animal down or let the human die? And when family is involved it makes it so much worse. How many family members are gonna thank the rescue people for letting Granny die or junior die because they would not put a dog down. I have to admit if it came down to losing Kelly, David or a dog no matter how loved I sure would choose to save the kids over the dog??? Were it me on the floor? If I were in the position of needing life saving medical care and someone was gonna shoot my dog to get at me? I would be wanting them to find another way. DON'T shoot my dog. A rabies pole comes to my mind and sleeves.
Lot of good postings on the forum this week. Sarah's post of the missing person has really had me thinking hard this week. Oh boy do I wish I could find my missing person. I lost track of her not to long after she was 39. I think she might be hanging around somewhere but there's a lot of life and water over the dam blocking and hiding her. I honestly don't know if I have the energy and strength to help her get out and into the light again.
Looking at the Weather Channel. Ewwwwwww! Nasty weather out and all around. Last eve at work while we were out on break the dang skies opened the flood gates and added some hail into the mix too. I hope everyone is safe and well tucked in to ride out the storms. Altho I know Sooos wont be riding, she'll be gliding!!! LOL
Ok I guess it's time to get off my butt and get dressed. Need to leave a little early for work today. Need to get the water bill paid and then stop at the store quick, then it's off to the daily grind of phone calls. ~sigh~ I'll be sure and fill my travel mug with some of your most excellent coffee and I think I grab a piece of that Apple cake too. YUM
Hope everyone has a great day, stay safe and warm.
Love to all
