I can attest to this....Cleaning Poem

I can attest to this....Cleaning Poem

Postby AlmostThere » Sun Feb 15, 2009 1:42 pm

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work.
I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into it.
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

So very true. I can see my entire little home from where my hiney is perched. Can't tell you how many times I look up and think "I have to clean up" but then this screen takes me away again - I've been kidnapped by the interent ;)

LOVE IT! lol -- My Mom's coming to stay with us for the next 5 weeks starting 2/17, and I simply cannot get my butt in gear to clean this place spic and span. Under normal circumstances I really don't care as I have a good reason -- I work hard all day, long hours -- Oh, and after dinner, like to spend time on the pooter ;) If I don't clean though, my Mom shows up and spends all her time putzing aroung the house cleaning this and that and she simly goes crazy with some of my stashed little boxes and such in the spare room. Hey it doesn't bother me...I think she should just come visit and leave my clutter/stuff alone. Okay...I'm starting to get stressed already...better stop and recite this cute little poem. Ahhhhhhhhhh gotta love pooters.

Especially true for me since joining the forum, except I haven't even cleaned the mouse.

Donna, your Mom is probably in her element cleaning up your "stuff". Be gracious, let her enjoy it, thank her, then reclutter when she's gone.

My attitude about cleaning house is : why bother? It just gets dirty again! An inch of dust on things isn't anymore disgusting than 1/2 inch, is it? :D Also I have the habit of losing things. So my counters are full of "things" I don't want to lose, dusty things, I have to admit. Because I have two goldens I'm forced to run the vacuum cleaner once in awhile or wade dog fur.
Vacuuming is about my only concession to cleaning.
