I am at Wickham Park in Melbourne Florida (Space Coast) with my Harley Dawg hosting a get together Dec 18 through February 15.
Let me now if you can make it for any or all dates. :D
Daily rates are $23 for electric, water, sewer, WiFi. (Weekly and monthly discounts available)
http://www.brevardcounty.us/ParksRecreation/Campgrounds/Wickham/Home
Roads are paved, lots are grassy and most are pretty flat and level.
The campground is located inside the county park which has a fenced off-leash dog park, as well as numerous ongoing activities.
Quite beautiful and peaceful yet tons of shopping is a short drive away.

If you want an official gtg, pick a specific short term period during this time. If you just want people to know you are there and would welcome any and all visitors, then that's ok, too, but not a gtg in the same way. I thought that's what you already had in another thread. If this is the case, we can consolidate the threads.

Hi Miss Mermaid,

When it slows down a bit after the holidays, I will definitely be over, even if just for a day. There are quite a few members wintering in Florida who may wander in as well. The fees are a value because Wickham Park definitely has a nice campground!

This is exactly why there needs to be a specific time frame set - everyone is waiting on everyone else - and good chance nothing will happen. CArol, how about you chime in on a good time for YOU to be there - and make a specific time frame - and hopefully others will then follow through?

This will not become a sticky until/unless there is a specific time frame for a gtg for people to reserve for (weekend, week - maximum 10 days which would include two weekends).

Actually, the flexible time period works well for me since I am working full time and juggling lots of other commitments. This is a little different, kind of an open house drop by GTG. It's nice to know I can catch up with Miss Mermaid and Donna will try to pop over whenever I can fit it into my schedule. Will probably just send them a PM when that happens since it seems to be a problem here. Others may want to set a specific time period that will work out better for them. Of course, it becomes more and more difficult every year to find sites for groups during the FL snowbird season.

This is not your traditional GTG....like Linann says ...the flexible time period works well
for a lot of people in this area or people just passing thur right now...
I don't have the funds to just go over there and wait
but I do have the funds and flexibility to go there when
people show up...and I am sure they will...I live 5 miles
away from this CG( I am over there all the time) and never had any problem with getting
a site...right now it is not as full as it usually is..so I really don't
think getting a site will be a problem at all....anyone coming or
going in this area please let me know and I will be there...like I said
I visit there all the time ...park my rv for the day when I visit or I park in the
day use part of the park...it really is a unique situation here...

I plan to get by there also; probably after Hillsborough as looks doubtful I can get to FL in time to go earlier.

Just so there's no misunderstanding - there is NO problem with this come and go atmosphere - we welcome it and it happens all the time places - like how many will stop and visit Sheila at Q over the course of her winter there. I hope that lots do get the opportunity to stop and visit ... singly or in groups. It's great that people can meet anywhere, anytime.

The women on this Forum are definitely what makes it so special; the sharing and caring that goes on here. Meeting other members face to face makes following future adventures even more fun. Donna and Miss Mermaid, please keep us informed on what is going on and who is on their way. I will try to get over for any scheduled visits. Sarah, can't wait for you to get down here again!

Bethers, maybe you need to tell us which dates you will be here and we will put the GTG on those dates.

I surely didn't mean to cause any trouble, I seem to do everything wrong on this forum, I am just a clueless idiot. I just wanted to meet some other forum members and thought the flexibility would help not hurt.

The campground won't hold a block of sites for certain dates unless I pony up the reservation money out of my pocket, and as much as I would love to be that generous, I can't afford that this year. The campground doesn't publish their reservation schedule so it does make it hard for me (or anyone) to pick a set of dates to tell everyone to come those exact dates and no other time.

Donna says she can come anytime, so that is already two of us, when a third chimes in with dates, maybe we can try to be a bit more formal and adhere to the GTG policy.

My posts float all over the board, seeming to move around on their own. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. But leave it to me to screw up something I thought was going to be simple and easy. LOL! Maybe I need to change my signature to "Clueless Idiot lost in an RV". LOL!

Oh my gosh - did you read my last post? You aren't doing anything wrong - you are wanting to meet people! And as long as you understand that doing it with a couple months as a time frame - the gtg isn't actually 2 months long - you're available all that time for anyone who can come visit. And that's great. And hopefully lots will come visit. I was thinking that if you wanted to try to get a bunch at ONE time - then you need to narrow down a shorter time frame in there for folks to make their own reservations (still wouldn't stop others from coming other times). Ha, am I muddying things up further? I surely don't (and hope no one else does) expect you to pay for any sites being held at any time. And if you picked a date for a gtg of a hopefully larger group - and sites ran out - well, people would be out-of-luck because they waited too long.

Wish I could stop by and see you and so many others - but FL aren't in my plans for this year - who knows when it will be again. Someday :)

And I was trying to help get a bigger gtg happening for you- not make things more confusing for you or anyone else who wants to meet up any other time during your stay there! Where you are located, you could get quite a few coming through.

Maybe I can help out here with the confusion....Last year we were spending a couple of months in Deming, NM...right along the I-10 going east and west...all I did was to give the dates on how long we were staying and just invited those who were traveling I-10 to stop in for an over night and have supper with us....worked out great!!...These are called "Mini GTGs".... ;) Nothing planned...nothing announced......folks just called us and said when they would be stopping and we just let the office at the RV Park know they were coming in..then we took photos of folks during supper and chatting and posted as "Mini GTG with....or "Look who stopped by".. Then you don't have to worry about making reservations and those who want to come by can do so at their leisure.....Hope this helps... :)
