I have found all this very informative...but still am
a little lost...I just got MiFi from Verizon...usb air card
before..i hope this new thing servers me as well as the
air card did...I have the 5GB on my plan and most of the
time I use it up on my blog before the end of the month...
the only thing I have unlimited on is my Droid phone...and
it is grandfathered in as long as I don't change my plan...I
don't think I understand the watching of TV on the computer yet
maybe some day someone will do a thread on how that work..

Television in the camper: Yes, we use it while getting going in the morning, calm the little one down so she'll go to sleep (normally a DVD) and if the weather is crappy. I'd rather be outside. The point of camping for me is to mostly (not totally) unplug. I leave the phones on the counter when I go outside and have even been known to head off to Walmart without my phone. :o Does make it diffifult to find the rest of you party when you get separated though :?

We normally use the air signal through our roof mounted antenna, if I can find the right direction to point it.
If the CG has cable tv, I'll get out my cable tv cable and hook it up to the post. Remembering to turn off the amplifier for the antenna.
last resort is to pull out my phone and use its internal "mobile hotspot" feature to stream Netflix's to the tv (mini HDMI cable from phone to tv)

If I full timed I'd probably get a dish, but the tv is just not important to me at this time. I like the features Mitch has were the antenna will find the satellites on its own. All those little motors and computer to point the dish costs money, but heck I'm worth it.

I have two Droid Raxor Maxx phones with built in Mobile Hotspots which use my band. I can stream internet to the laptop, Kindle's or any other WiFi capable device (up to 8 at one time I believe). We use Verizon with a "share everything plan" and I get 8 GB a month. We normally use around 4-5 GB per month (Verizon bill around $180 a month). The 4G LTE connection to the Verizon system is faster than the free WiFi at our favorite CG and more reliable.

I can also connect my phones, like a WiFi capable laptop to the WiFi Hotspots at the CG, home or McDonald's, you name the place and not effect my band with usage.

Hey Anne. They had me confused and I don't have an issue with internet, Netflix, TV, etc. I use a Verizon MIFI with 5G and have ATT service on my phone and tablet but of course they will all run off the Verizon too. I decide.

Oh dear -- I'll bet I'm somebody who sounded overbearing! I do apologize!

I get so frustrated with companies that give the same name to different services and customer support centers that give misleading information. I just had to write it all down -- for myself, as much as anybody.
