A Fine Saturday for Adventures

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Fine Saturday for Adventures

Postby BirdbyBird » Sat Sep 21, 2013 4:28 am

Good morning. It is early but when you have to wake up at 3 o'dark to make it out of the house and complete the hour drive to the airport, it is what you do. I have successfully made it to the car lot to drop off the car and get shuttled over to the airport and through the security. I am too old to remember all the steps....take off shoes, empty pockets, take out your laptop...belt! Don't forget the belt! Keep moving. Keep moving. Now put everything back on and stow your stuff away and take the hike to gate B12....a half mile this way. Now, since the lines really were rather short and moved quickly, I get to sit and wait a hour and a half for boarding. Barbie, I promise to wave from the Minniapolis airport as I change planes.

Hope everyone's day goes well. Mitch, if I find that handsome cowboy, I will be sure to send you a picture. You need to know there is more than one "Pedro" out there to hunt for!

Montana, here I come. :)

Well, good morning, Ms. Tina, who is sitting at the airport waiting for her plane... :D On your way to be a "Cowgirl" for a few days.... ;) Have a good time and yes, by all means, get that photo of "Cowboy Pete/Pedro" for Mitch...she does need to see that there are alot of Pedros/Petes out there.... ;)

Have to make a cake for the Cook out/Doggy Play Date today.....Andy & Ernie have invited our friends, Dane & Joyce, who now have 3 Labradoodles down for this....They have a new "Doodle", Honey, whom we've yet to meet...so to make it a good day of fun, Jim & Kim and Brandon & Veronica, have been invited, too....so there will be 10 "Hoomans" and 5 dogs....I'll be sure to take pictures..... ;) The guys have promised Gwen & me that we don't have to do any cooking.......I guess the cake doesn't count as "cooking"....that's "baking"....

Okay, the coffee is ready...help yourselves...I'm off to catch up on the reading here....

CArol, hey, I slept in to 5:15am...it's getting better in the sleep department... ;)

Have a great day, all

Morning all,

Sassy woke me up at 5 a.m. this morning too :? Yep, I think Lori must be spreading this "up early disease" around. Even our four legged kids are waking up too early. Course I wasn't about to stay up, so gave her, her pill, outside for potty and back in. Back to bed, but never really did go back to sleep. Finally said to heck with it.

Tina, have fun this week. I know you were really looking forward to it. And definitely look for that handsome cowbody for Mitch. Actually there may be a few others of us who might be interested. I mean, a nice dashing young cowboy up on a horse, well, actually even an older dashing cowboy would work too. A girl or lady I should say has to dream you know....

Going to be kind of a raw day here I think. Scattered showers and high of 53 with NW winds of 15-25. Yes Soos, my weather is ahead of yours and you will be getting this cold front too. But they say a beautiful weather patter for all of next week, so we should see plenty of sunshine :)

Think it's going to be a puttery day here today. Need to run to Hobby Lobby, a dangerous place to be actually. Very tempting on the wallet. Bad as Camping World  But need a storage box with compartments to store sign letters in. Then will go through my stuff and see what I have in the sign making dept. Plan to take some of it along when I head north this coming week.

Otherwise, same ol', same ol' around here. Have a wonderful day all.

Good morning everyone! Tina I hope your travel day goes smoothly. Have a great time and don't forget to share with us in pictures.

Glad to read that Mitch is home. Praying for relief from pain and rapid healing. Take it easy.

Carol and I are hunkered down for a rainy day. There will be a farmers market today here at the Fairgrounds where we are camped, and there's a big museum in town that will help to pass the time.

Good morning all!! Can't wait to see pictures of you cowgirl adventure, Tina. Sue, another opinion is definitely a good idea. Lori, that sounds like a fun doggie play date. So glad Mitch is home. Now prayers for a speedy recovery. It rained last night, all night. That heavy rain. Filled the pool and pond to the very top!! Lots of flooding south of us! So gonna stay in and work on projects!! Everyone have a great day and stay safe.

I'm joining the early birds here, I forgot to turn my alarm off that I had set for 6:00 yesterday morning :( I was awake just not ready to get up, of course the dogs had other ideas. Tina, ack three am, did you get any sleep, I would have been awake all night waiting probably. Even though it's going to be a cowgirl week, surely there will be some handsome cowboys to add to the ambiance, someone has to get those horses ready for the trails.
I have been in a waiting period here too for 6 weeks, but it's over and so far the news is good. Thank goodness for second opinions. I had a thyroid problem and here they said just take these pills and come back in six weeks. I read the insert  and decided to look online for other possibilities and found acupuncture was recommended. Fortunately we have a person here from China who does acupuncture, she is also a medical doctor but only does acupuncture now. I started loosing weight after the first of six treatments and at the end of the six weeks, went back to the doctor here who had prescribed the medication for a check up. I was 8 pounds lighter and had a perfect result on the blood test! Friday I went to see my doctor in STL who went over everything. After 'donating' a bit more blood for things they forgot to check here, I was off to the Whole Foods Store for a few of my favorite things. It was a long drive, this time with heavy traffic and RAIN (after two long dry months) 3 hours each way instead of the usual 2 1/2. I was tired when I got home as I had awakened at three am in anticipation for that six o'clock alarm I had set. Oh, the STL doctor said no more than my thyroid was out of balance she would not have prescribed medication at that point but would have watched the other levels. I'm so glad I didn't take it!
Well I've been up and down while writing this so it is no longer very early! Time to head to the farmers market to get a few things.
Have a good day and safe travels to all on the road.

good morning ladies
ahhh the cowgirl week, how fun, can't wait for pictures
so glad Mitch is home, looking forward to a post from that one too letting us know first hand how she's doing. I suspect one day at a time and soon she'll be right back to her old self.
Rested up well last night and expect to get lots of work done today. Shred some papers, vacuam and dust, then rearrange. Of course laundry
is on the agenda too cause its Saturday.
Ya'll enjoy your day, be safe and hoping you have good weather. Those in the rainy parts, hope the rain is minimal.

Wow there is a lot of activity here in the coffee room... and Mitch is at it again! you do look a bit spaced out but that is good as you will heal better with those awful pain drugs in you... so very glad you are on and thinking of things you can do but for now go back to sleep lady...

Tina how much fun can one lady have... you are right at the top with Liz and others who take life by the horns and ride into the sunset... Sue is this other doctor a second opinion or is he/she one that is recommended by the one you saw yesterday?

So many having fun... it is rather nippy here this morning so have a blanket over my lets... my hoped for other driver is not on the docket anymore...

Have a great day everyone can't remember what everyone is doing...

Just heading off to work here soon. Cool sunny day here today. Hope you all have a great day!
