Didn't know where this should be posted, so I am thinking of music as craft.
Back in my 50's, I began playing the cello again. I found a very patient teacher who agreed to teach an old dog a new trick. In late 2008, I learned about a contest. Yo Yo Ma (fabulous cellist) wanted original compositions to accompany his version of Dona Nobis Pachem. Collaborate with Mr. Ma!?
So with no composing experience, no recording experience and being a competent amateur at best, I entered the contest. First I had to compose my part. Then I had to record my part in a studio while listening to his part thru headphones. Then it had to be uploaded to the Indaba web site where anyone could vote. I did get some votes but I didn't win. Not even close. But it was fun and a new experience. A friend recently asked me if the result was still available for listening online. As we all know, it is out there forever.
I don't think I shared this with you before but here is the link. The title means Give Us Peace. If I don't post the link for my entry correctly then you will hear someone much better. Lol
