HOORAY--RAIN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HOORAY--RAIN

Postby SoCalGalcas » Thu Jul 11, 2013 9:06 am

It's raining here!!! Such good news for us in So Cal. Hope it is pouring up in the mountains at the horrible fires there.

My luncheon yesterday was great fun. Food was excellent. We are making plans for the the 100th birthday next month of one of our members. Several of us are losing our hearing, so that creates many laughable moments!

Have a great day all. lyn

Everyone must be busy this morning!

Lyn, where are the fires out there now? Glad the rain is there. Hope it helps!

Good Morning... slow all around today... Margie helped me go through the pantry above and on top of my washer and dryer... got rid of a lot of things... do not need repair things in an apartment or at least minimal amount... she got the cupboard above the frig cleaned out it is very small... BUT wa la there was my long lost juicer! I thought I had my vases up there but only juicer... now I can do some juicing... this is a powerful machine leaves a small amount of pulp... I used to juice every morning... I had my recipe book but it is long gone... I made one drink that was pineapple, pear, carrots, apple it was the best drink ever!...

I did not take a pain pill before bed I wanted to rest a few hours... could not get out of bed and made a mess all the way to the potty! and to think I just washed all the clothes before I went to bed... such is life...

Very glad for the rain... was it enough to put out the awful fires?

Dave came and mowed my lawn this morning and relieved me of $25... at least it has been several weeks that the grass and weeds have not grown much...

Take care everyone and have a peaceful day

If you are familiar with the area, the Shriners camp on Mt Laguana has burned. The Sierra Club buildings have burned. Several private cabins on Mt Laguna have burned. Part of the fire burned down into the edge of Box Canyon in the desert. The Laguna Lodge has been evacuated. Winds have been erratic up there. So sad. lyn

Good morning, or afternoon as here in Biloxi. Dropped DH off at the casino to play a poker tournament. One more day for me to enjoy the beach before heading north. I've been doing laundry and making ready to hit the road tomorrow for Troy, AL. DH really loves genealogy and that is the area from which his ancestors Come. He has a distant cousin that works in the library and is a genealogist/archivist. Lucky the RV park has a spa and I plan to schedule a massage :P

The skies were black and threatening. You could see it coming. So I finished with the dumping and stowed all that stuff, took Tyler for a walk until the first rain began to fall. Now, it just started thunder, lightening, pouring rain and the 110 power went out. So, I sit. I'll wait till all the really bad weather lets up before I go out and check the pedestal and breaker and my surge guard EMS. So much for my last day at the beach  Hopefully it'll clear tonight for that last walk along the shore :P

I'm really sad to hear the Shriner camp and that area was burned down. My family were Shriners and that camp sure helped a lot of kids...at no cost to them. I hope no one was hurt.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Hello everyone!

Another afternooner here, but I was busy this morning. I went to the post office today, which is not a regular stop for me, although the postmaster said if I didn't come soon, she was going to call me. Fortunately, there weren't any bills waiting on me. We don't have rural route delivery where we live and I have to cross a major highway at a very busy intersection to go to the post office, which is a PITA. I'm going to make an honest effort to try to go there once a week.

I contacted our credit card company today to have that bill paid automatically out of our checking account. For personal reasons, I choose not to pay our bills online, so now almost every bill will be paid monthly without us having to worry about them.

Mom is very tired from her radiation treatments and her appetite has dwindled, of which she didn't have much to begin with. But she only has three weeks left to go. I must have gotten my appreciation for eating from Dad.

We're looking into purchasing a car carrier trailer for our lightest car, to pull behind our motorhome. We've put a down payment on it and were going to go there today to try to put my car on the trailer, but because of the rain, we're going to try again tomorrow.

Take care everyone!

Irmi, I have mine paid automatically also. Love that feature - get no bills by mail at all anymore.

It's still morning here in Alaska. Carold and tGM are here - they fixed me dinner last night, tonight will be girls night out. Not sure where Carol and I will go, but we'll have a good time. Tomorrow they'll come out on the boat.

I might have found the spot where my pesky leak is coming from - it's NOT on the roof and NOT around the front window, if I'm right. It's in one of the "seams" for lack of the proper term between two sections up in that front cabover area. Not sure what kind of caulk will work there so going to ask Fred what he thinks. Then will ask him nicely to do the caulking for me, if I get the caulk. We will not talk about why I don't caulk. Let's just say, I do it if I have to ... but it's not pretty.

Well, it's late afternoon here in Western NY.... ;) Got my BIG wash done (2 regular loads.... ) at my sister's this morning....I usually do the laundry once a week, but because of another dr. appt. tomorrow and my Mother's family reunion Saturday, so did it today.....

My niece, Renee', is "Spinner sitting" when I go for my surgery.....I asked her today....This helps Ernie so he doesn't have to take him with us and Ernie doesn't have to rush back here to walk Spinner...Renee' has a 2 yr. old American Bull Dog, Ari, who still thinks she's a puppy and loves to play and has met Spinner....I'll try to get some photos of the 2 of them...

Here at the campground, they had an ice cream, burger, and sub shop.....we're getting supper from there tonight......

Okay, that's all from here....hope everyone is having a great day....Oh, BTW, NO RAIN here today and the forecast has us sunny thru next Weds. Here's hoping my brother-in-law can get some of his hay in before it rains again.... ;)

That is so sad! I went camping there just 2 years ago at Mt Laguna Campground. Then, you could see the burned out areas around there that had bad fires several years earlier. That is/was such a beautiful area!
