Sunday morning and game day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday morning and game day

Postby avalen » Sun Jan 18, 2009 7:58 am

well good morning to all
coffee is brewed and blueberry bagels and creamcheese on the counter.
Today is game day here, its really a big event in this town cause if the Cardinals
win they of course go to Superbowl. Not really my big thing but the rest of the
city is all decked out in red in support of their team.
Sis will be here around noon, spend the last few hours here until they have to
check back into the airport with the rental car, told her to come hungry cause
we have a deli platter to eat and its got some really good meat in it too, Black
Angus Beef is so good and the pastrami is to die for and of course BlackForest
Ham has always been the best. I snacked a little on it last night, and muenster
cheese too. Macaroni salad and green salad, so they can make little sandwiches
to go even cause the plane doesn't feed ya anymore. I bought the baby cresants
to use instead of big hoagie buns. Much lighter bread and probably healthier too.
Gonna go make some toast as I'm getting hungry just thinking about that yummy
meat. Enjoy your day all, stay warm and be safe.

YUM! I am headed your way for something to eat!!!

Enjoy your last few hours with your sis. Hope she has a good flight home, and that you two will now stay in touch better. Family really is important. I never realized just how important until some of us began dying off, and then realized just how much I missed them. I suppose we all think we will live forever, including our entire family. With age comes profound understanding of life, and gone is the naievity of our immortal youthful persons! Sigh! Guess it's NOT the 60s any more, is it??
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Ava, Maryland is draped in purple, Ravens playing the Steelers for a chance at the super bowl. I couldn't stand even listening to the sounds of football. My husband would have the tv on and I would go shopping or anything to get out of the house. Then my grandson started playing football. Wow! I screamed louder and jumped higher than anyone there. lol Now I love it. Glad you had a good visit with your sister.

Moved this to the Morning Coffee room - hope y'all don't mind.

Peaches and I just walked the beach. We only were out for her morning walk around the park, but when we got to the boardwalk, she started walking down it and I said, oh, what the heck! So down we went. By the time we came back, the sun had managed to come out from behind the clouds and it was beautiful.

Had a message here from Sparkle asking if I wanted to go to breakfast. Tried to call her back, but got her voice mail. Am guessing she is AT breakfast :) - told her if she wanted to go to lunch or do anything else later to call and let me know. I mean, I fed us both meals yesterday - even if I did slightly burn part of the cake I baked (made my pineapple-mandarin orange angel food cake for the first time in the convection oven. - hmmmmmm, got to take notes on how it cooks!)

Okies, going to read the forum, then be a bum. Have a great day all.

Goooood Morning Sistahs!!!!

I've been up since about 8:30, which sounds like I really slept in, huh? Nope. I didn't go to bed until almost 1:30am. Checked in here saw that Ava had started the morning coffee and post! Kool beans! :D But instead of posting back I went to check email and get my comic fix for the day. I've simply been sitting here playing around and surfing the web. Ahhhhhh Sunday! And the next best part is that we have tomorrow off because it's a holiday! YeeeHaw I have kicked around the idea of going in tomorrow for a little while but I'm really undecided about it? I get paid for the holiday but if I went in that would also mean basically getting double time. Goodness decisions, decisions. Hmmmm? I suppose I could go in for 1/2 a day? I went into work yesterday and worked 4hrs so I have ended up with 98.25hrs for my 2wk pay period. Which is good as that check will is earmarked for rent and electric bill. For all the time put into making that paycheck it sure doesn't take that long to be gone! ;)

Game day?? Ewwwww Never been much of a sports fan. At least not the spectator type fan. When I was younger I played baseball and football. But I have never been able to just sit and watch, it just doesn't generate any excitement in my bones. :) I've worked as an EMT at Watkins Glen a few times, even once right in the pits. I fell asleep. For all the times I was at that track for different races I've never once watched a race. I've slept thru every one of them.

Got housework to do today of course and laundry. Then I think I will sort out some boxes. Give my friend across the street a shout, have her come over to see if she wants my dragons. ~sigh~ I really hate like blue blazes to get rid of them? But it's what's needed and I know if she takes them they will have a good home. I will only be keeping a few of them. Whatever furniture we have the kids will be getting except a few things that we can use on the road. I do think tho that I will pick up a decent sized inverter for in the Blazer. Be nice if we do a little tenting to be able to have the power to run the coffee maker if we aren't plugged in somewhere. My two coolers I will be keeping one is a 12 volt cooler and the other one is like one step down from the extreme 7 day coolers. Just might find they will come in handy even if only for grocery shopping as long at the store out in AZ is so far away. My brain has been on overdrive lately thinking and planning. Hope I don't burn a circuit out!

Well it's now close to noon so I guess I had better post this or I will have to change my greeting to Gooood Afternoon Sistahs! LOL

Hope everyone has a excellent day. Stay safe and warm.

Love to all

I spent the morning grocery shopping & looking at RV's online. It is rainy & cold here. I'm looking forward to soaking in the whirlpool & watching football. I am a HUGE football fan. I like college best but I keep up with NFL too. Good luck to your Cardinals Ava & your Ravens Shirlv. My 2 fav teams are already out so now I can watch the games & not get mad.

Well, I'm off to see what I've missed. Hope everyone has a good day! :D

I'm up,... since 6:30 and been doing laundry and just puttering around the house. I'm not a football fan so that doesn't capture my interest. But you all know I'm a local high school basketball addict! Only got five games this next week,... had 9 this past week. Only a little over a month left to play offs and state sectionals,.... i'm feeling the pangs of withdrawal already! :?

The Colts are out of the running so I'm not interested anymore. The Colts train here pre-season. So my town is Colt's country. Sorry to hear of Coach Dungy's retirement. He's a fine gentleman as well as a good coach. Cheryl
