Please allow me to introduce myself. I've been reading and enjoying this forum for the past few weeks. Camping has been part of my life as a child and an adult. I introduced my son to camping when he was 14 and we began seasonal camping the next year. We started in a tent, quickly moved to a pop up and then a travel trailer. He spent his high school years making many new friends both seasonal and weekenders from many different places. Life changed and we gave it up his last year in high school. I always talked about missing camping and wanting to get back into it. This past summer I finally took the plunge, found a new camper and rented a seasonal site at the same cg. Its 8 years later and my son is an adult but he still comes along and has made many friends. I prefer to relax by the fire, walk my dogs and people watch. Our camper was a 96 Jayco Designer Series travel trailer delivered to the site by the gentleman I bought it from. Unfortunately superstorm Sandy blew over a very large double trunked tree flattening the camper. Fortunately no one was in it. We decided to continue to camp and have replaced the tt with a 2001 Fleetwood Prowler tt. We have yet to camp in it since the weather has not cooperated. I will be 60 later this year so retirement is getting closer. It was my dream for a long time to buy a rv and go see the country. Part of me doesn't really think I'll do it. Your posts have been inspirational. Even though the only thing I've towed is a pop up( and lost it a few times, thanks goodness for those chains) I'm seriously thinking I could do it. I will probably always need to consider my son's living situation so I don't see me selling my home but I could take extended trips. My retirement income will not be huge but I should be able to get by. Anyway just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Keep those posts coming so I can experience the rest of the country while continuing to do the 8-5 routine.
