Just beautiful...to live out a lifetime and never have experienced the love of a dog, cat, ferret, etc is a life only going through the motions...My son is so much like his dad, lives for the big lottery win, keeps all his toys and home in tip top condition. He tells me Rudy should be outside in a dog house...I don't say anything I just demonstrate the relationship and hope he somehow will see what he's missing...he does have an outside cat for which he has a special caring ..I observe him and hear him speak of Gracie in an almost loving way but he holds back and I can see how he holds back with Rudy...Rudy meets him everyday and spends time in his garage with him..I can see that there is a little tug on his heart but he can't make himself cross that line over to real bonding... Gracie was infested with ticks one summer and he thought he was going to lose her..he cried and when I buried Rudy's little sister in his back yard he cried...
Thanks for letting me speak of something that causes a little hurt in my heart...
