Do we make the whale watching arrangements together? or separately? This will be my first GTG, I'm so looking forward to it.

When it gets closer to that time I will contact the charter companies and see if they have group rates, whether we can make reservations, etc. Will let you know.

I highly recommend that you check whether they take same day (or one day in advance) reservations and usually can accommodate those. While the tours on the boat I work the summer for in AK are well worth it no matter the weather, you might not feel that way and could have a better opportunity to pick the weather after you're there.

We have the choice of either a regular boat or a Zodiak for the whale watching. The Zodiak costs a wee bit more but would put us at the level of the whales. Maybe we could even pet one :D wouldn't that be neat? What do you all think?

Is it ok if I bring a friend? She likes to RV but doesn't have one. I'm mainly asking so you have a good head count.
I'm game for either Zodiak or regular boat (what is a Zodiak?). Just let me know how much.

Hey, sure, bring your friend. The more the merrier. Anyone/everyone is welcome.
A Zodiak is a large rubber raft with a motor :D
The boat is $25 (seniors) for 2 hours and the Zodiak is $35 for an hour and a half. If we get close to whales the boat gives you a view, the Zodiak could give you an up close and personl.

I've got it on the calendar but haven't told Jenny yet. Hopefully, we'll be there! 8-)

Hey, Sooz, have you made reservations at Beverly Beach? There aren't many sites left. Hope you and Jenny can make it.

I haven't been on here much, but I'm still coming up for the whale watching! For what its worth, we'd be interested in the Zodiac trip. :D

Do we have a total head count to date? And now I have to find my reservation...somewhere in this morass AKA the various in boxes!
