we had rain and over caste/ clouds today but tonight when I walked Shadow the moon was clearly visible
so big
So why is it called the wolf moon??

I heard something on the news about this was the full moon where the starving wolves would gather near the Indian tribes, looking for food.

I got to see some of the moon rise tonight.
My great grandparents and grand parents always referred to each monthly moon by name; grew up thinking everybody did. Didn't discover that was not true until I went off to college.
Some of these are a little different but close to what I knew as a child.
