UPDATE March 26, 2013:
Dates: Starting Saturday, September 21, 2013
Location: William M. Tugman State Park in Lakeside, Oregon (on the coast, sort of) http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=69
Reservations: http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgroundDetails.do?subTabIndex=0&contractCode=or&parkCode=tugm
Sites: C-loop (I reserved site C26 for 4 nights and I think Oregonluvr picked C24)
Park reviews: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Oregon/Lakeside.html it's towards the bottom
This is a nice little state park. And, its only $20/night!
Disclaimer: This is NOT beach camping. There is NO direct access to the beach. There is a really nice lake a short walk away at the day use area which would be great for kayaks or canoes. The longest available site is about 50 ft. and each site only has water/electric BUT they do have 50amp. There is NO guarantee that it won't rain
Karen and I went over last weekend and checked out the park. We thought it would make a great location for the gtg this year. This is Oregon State Park camping at it's finest. Very wooded with all the normal state park amenities. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site and clean bathrooms and showers. Dump station onsite.
We also found something that might be a fun activity: http://www.sanddunesfrontier.com/big-buggy-tours.php for only $12/person. If someone wants a little more excitement, you can pay a little more for this: http://www.sanddunesfrontier.com/sand-rail-tours.php
A and B loop are already completely booked so act fast before all the spots are taken!
Hope to see everyone at the gtg!
Laura

Okay, so I've been busy on my little computer the last few weeks and have a few suggestions for the 2013 west coast gtg. Get your mouse clickers ready cuz here come the links.
I have a few locations in mind but want to hear from anyone and everyone that would be interested in attending. All locations are in Oregon so it stays fairly centrally located for our friends from the north, south and east.
Here are my suggestions (in no particular order)
1. Fort Stevens State Park near Astoria Oregon: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_179.php (based on a review I found, loop M seems to be the best location)
I won't even bore you with everything there is to do so here's a link to just a sampling of what's in the area: http://www.oldoregon.com/visitor-info/
2. Cove Palisades State Park in Central Oregon: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_32.php (We would be in the Crooked River campground) We could rent a pontoon boat for half a day and putt putt around on Lake Billy Chinook. Bend, Oregon isn't that far away and it is a mecca of culture and has miles and miles of hiking available.
3. Bullards Beach State Park in Bandon: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_71.php (loop A would be my preference) Tons of stuff to do in the area
4. Valley of the Rogue State Park near Grants Pass: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_109.php (we just left there so please refer to the 2012 gtg thread for information on what to do in the area)
5. Silver Spur Campground in Silverton, Oregon: http://www.silverspurrvpark.com/
This is a Passport America park with NO restrictions on when and how long you can stay. They host A LOT of gtg's for other rv groups but if you have PA, then I would recommend that you just make your own reservations, say nothing about a gtg, and just park wherever they put you. The group rate is $29/night and the PA rate would be $17.50/night. I don't know about you, but I'd just book as a PA member and walk around to the other sites. I picked this park because there are many things to do in the area. Here is a sample:

http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_211.php (there's a good reason why I didn't pick this park for the gtg. Its too small and the road to get there isn't very fun)

Okay, so that's a first-look at the 2013 West Coast GTG. The dates would be in September again. If everyone picks Silver Spur, we'll have to work the dates around the local Octoberfest which is the 3rd week in September.
If anyone has a different place they'd like to go then please post your suggestion to this thread. This is not a final list by any means.
