My name is Tyler

Postby Redwahine » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:52 am

My name is Tyler and I was born in Eugene, OR in 2003. They made me parade around in circles and people put ribbons on me and my owner took home big funny looking gold things. Then the vet said I had a thyroid problem and they did not want me to produce kids that had the same problem. So, they cut off my the parts that would let me produce little champions and put me on little purple pills for the rest of my life. Then I wasn't allowed to parade around in circles any more and my owners gave me to a family that had 5 English Mastiffs. They were all twice my size. Life as the little kid was O.K., but they picked on me alot and I had to learn to defend myself and I pretty much stayed to myself. At least there were 4 acres on which to hide.

Then mom (Red) saw me on one of her business trips to Oregon in 2007 and fell in love with me. Mom said she had an English Setter, Toby, just like me back in 1970s that she showed in dog shows. She thought I was Toby reincarnated. My owner said she was looking for a home that would love me, knew about English Setters and would take care of my medical needs. So after all the shots, blood tests and agriculture waiting period, mom cam to Oregon and we got on a long 5 hour plane ride to Hawaii. I loved Hawaii. Back yard was not big, but we were just a 5 minute walk to a huge beach and we went everyday. Then for some reason 2 years ago, mom and I got on that big plane again, this time for 8 hours and I arrived in Texas. This place has 3 acres to run around and I love "patrolling" the property and seeing new critters. They all look like cats to me and I hate cats. I'm not sure I like the heat, cuz I have to get groomed more often. The man that lives in the house does not like me and I just stay out of his way...Whenever mom goes somewhere overnight I have to stay at the kennels. I get really upset, but she always comes back.

Mom keeps talking about going on a long trip together and she promises that I get to go along. I can't wait.

This was so humiliating. Really !!??!! The Easter Bunny !!!???

Welcome to the Forum, Tyler. You are quite handsome. I am very glad you have a nice Mom, and you should bite that man who doesn't like you.

I can't wait to meet you, but please don't sniff my butt...I have never been socialized in that regard.

Love,
Abby

Hi Tyler,

We are Luke- a silver schnauzer, Rascal-a white schnauzer (my Mom definitely wanted a white one like me because people didn't use to like my color so I hear other white schnauzers were put to sleep. Yikes!), and Belle-a chocolate Yorkie (I was born with no retinas my vet doctor says. My Mom bought me so I would not be put to sleep too). Luke says when our Mom bought him he had Parvo and hook worms real bad. He says she did not sleep for about 4 days so that every time he got sick, she could disinfect his crate and rehydrate him. All this is to say we understand some people just don't recognize a really good doggy when they see one. Your Mom did too. We have never bitten anyone, but we think maybe you should bite that man who doesn't like you too. How could he not like you.

We live in Texas too. It is too hot here. Our Mom says we are going to get to start traveling to new places and get to meet new doggies and people. We love making new friends, both 2 and 4 legged kinds. We hope we get to meet you some day. Hope you get to go on your trip soon too.

Tyler you are very beautiful and I know how you felt with that bunny, I can definitely see it in your expression! Sometimes our moms get these strange ideas and we just have to indulge them. I'm sorry you have to live in that hot place and share your mom with someone who doesn't like you. I hope you can leave there very soon. My mom has started giving me thyroid pills too but I'm a girl and mine are pink. Did you loose some of your hair before they gave you the pills, I did but I hope it comes back now.
Sending you lots of Air Kisses,
Winnie

A big Texas welcome from Sophie (I'm the cute black and white one) and Buddy (I'm the big, mature guy). We traveled with our mom until she bought a place with a small yard and added a big deck for us to lay around on in the shade. Sassy (the small Lab in the photo) had gone to the Rainbow bridge a year ago and mom hasn't been able to take her picture off here yet.

Sophie thinks you're a pretty handsome fellow and hope to meet you one day.

Mom says we are going to school for "socializing" cuz I'm afraid of other dogs and sometime "nip" those little dogs that won't leave me alone. In don't mean to hurt them, but they won't leave me alone. Mom says I'm very well behaved. I don't jump on people, or get on the furniture. But she says I have to learn to play better if I want to go to the GTG in October. I want to go so I can meet evryone.

Hi and Welcome Tyler. My name is Rudy (actually Rudolph, birthday is just before Christmas). My mom says I was a 'handful' until I had my 5th birthday..she nicknamed me 'Rowdy Rudy' because I was into everything and had super doggy power, even bringing a lounge cushion 5' long through my doggy door while she was gone one day. Mom also says I am very special and she will never acquire another puppy the way she got me. I was born just as she took an exit off the interstate, fell right into her hand. She said I arrived loud and frisky telling her what she was in for but she loved me immediately. I had a little sister that looked like her mom..but she died a week later. Mom says I must look like my dad who had to be the leader of the pack. I also think you need to bite that mean man!

Hi Tyler! I'm Pepper. I'm a Cocker Spaniel and I live in Alabama. I have to share my house and my Mom with a big fat orange cat with the sissy name of Fluffy! But at least I don't have to share my toys because he doesn't play. All he does is sit on the back of the couch and swish his tail back and forth and stare. And he still gets to sit in mom's lap and get his ears rubbed! What's up with THAT? At least when we go bye-bye he stays home! Your friend, Pepper

Hi Tyler. Peaches here. I like boy dogs, so we'll get along fine. I kind of snap sometimes at other girl dogs. So I understand you not always getting along with other dogs. My mom says I'm a good girl cuz when she rescued me I was so terrified of people and other dogs and just about everything, that she doesn't get too upset when I snap at some dogs. I don't actually bite them - at least so far - and Mom tells me that's a no-no. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting you. If you don't want me close, that's ok, cuz I'm sometimes that way, too.

Love,
Peaches
