A Message from the Other Side?

Postby Paulette » Wed May 02, 2012 2:15 pm

Well, I wasn't quite sure where to post this, or which heading to put it under even. But thought I'd share this story with you all, even though it has nothing at all to do with RVing. I hope none of you mind...but if you do you always have the option of skipping to the next topic.

A little preface...my father passed on 4 years ago. Prior to that, he had had a major stroke tht left him with aphasia, and so he came to live with me. Although communicating was sometimes difficult, I was very fortunate in that I could usually figure out exactly what he was trying to say. It was a blessing!

Night before last I had a couple of odd dreams, one right after the next, or so it seemed. In the first dream, I came into my house and when I got to the hallway, there was a strange man in the house. It startled me pretty good and when I looked around, I realized that none of the furnishings in the house were familiar. So, I guess it was no longer my house.

Next dream, I came Into my house again, and when I got to the hallway, I saw my dad sitting at the computer. He smiled, and even though I knew in the dream that it was only his spirit, he gave me a wonderful hug!

I woke up, and remembered both dreams...which is unusual in and of itself! Later on during the day, I was playing Hanging With Friends with Liz, and it was my turn to make a word. When the letters came up, I realized that the letters there spelled "Brandon", which was my fathers last name. Odd...so I hit the shuffle button, and the last three letters of the bottom row were "ROY". That was my fathers name!

Okay, now I'm not 100%sure why I felt liked needed to post this here...but maybe it is to bring comfort to those of you that are going thru transitional times right now. And maybe it is for those of you who have recently, or even not so recently, suffered a loss. I truly believe that they are always with us, always near by.

Happenings like those you experienced sure do make a person wonder, don't they?

Who knows what's out there in that nether world anyway----sometimes we just get little hints, but those are enough to keep us hoping and wondering and watching for more.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who experiences things like that. Thanks for sharing them with us!

What a wonderful dream that your dad came and gave you a hug. I love it when someone I miss comes back to 'visit' with me in dreams. He clearly was making contact to have the dream and his name appear in the game.

I think it's great that your dad is visiting you. I wish my dad would. I think my sister does from time to time.

I feel Jack all the time, 'specially when I'm getting ready to do something really stupid. The back of my head starts itching really really bad. He had an itchy scalp and used to take his ball cap off and scratch the back of his head. The reason I know it's him is I went to a psychic and the same thing happened to her and she said, Boy, he really had an itchy scalp, didn't he? I was wondering why I would get those itch attacks after he passed. And of course there are the times he just lets me screw up and sits back and laughs. sigh. I wish I would dream of him...used to have dreams with him in them when he was alive, but haven't had one with him since he passed. I'm glad your dad visited you and gave you a hug, that's so wonderful and so special. There have been a few other signs, you just have to see them.

I've had some experiences with different people that I've lost. I've always known just who and what they were saying. Love your dreams and then that the letters spelled out his name - how neat is that - he just is letting you know he's there for you still. At least that's how I see it.

That is way cool! I have had many dream visits from my mom and my grandma (dad's mom) and they feel wonderful! They usually look much younger (and healthy) in those dreams and I wake up feeling warm and fuzzy! I have had many other signs from my mom as well, that she is still around. My girlfriend in Florida lost her sister last month to cancer, and she has had a couple of signs from her already. I firmly believe our loved ones are still with us, watching over us. We just have to be open to the signs and messages...

I have had quite a few times where I just knew my DH was contacting me. I know he led me to buying Flitter because I asked him for help that day. I was at the end of my rope hunting for the impossible with no luck. I dispared of ever getting out from under the high payments on a too big motorhome and I just couldn't find a solution. Flitter sat in a line of RVs and "something" pulled me straight to her. If it is at all possible, I know my DH would watch over me. Flitter has been a very reliable rig and I know he's happy for me.

But the most woo-woo time was shortly after he died. My New England son was out here in CA for his Dad's funeral and borrowed my car to visit Malibu. Anyone who knew my DH also knew he loved golf and his beer of choice was the Boston Sam Adams, which wasn't as easy to find out here then. My son walked along the cliffs for about 3 miles, then climbed down to the sand. He had been thinking about his Dad, remembering things, along this walk. As he sat on the sand looking at the Pacific Ocean and grieving, he leaned back on his hands and felt something in the sand. It turned out to be a golf tee with Sam Adams written on it! We firmly believe his Dad was giving him a hug and saying I love you. Why else would a golf tee be buried in the sand at that particular spot of California shore? And why a New England beer printed on it?

Totally believe that our loved ones are close by...and I wish that I would be lucky enough to have them reach out and give me a hug!
