Here are my Ruckus pictures.
Pete and my rigs all set up.
Anita arrives with her new truck camper.
Carol arrives with her new Chalet.
Carol pushes a button to raise the roof.
The walls are raised manually.
Up goes the dormer.
All done! Richard looks inside.
The whole ORS group: Back row l to r: Carol, Anita, Soos, Pete. Front row: Molly, Roe, Liz
The setting: View from our campsites

Juvenile Junco
White-throated Sparrow
About that sparrow
One of the many campfires we enjoyed
All too soon, Carol had to leave. Pete guides her as she backs up.
Bye Carol!
The next day Pete, Anita, and I visited High Falls Gorge

The Gorge
Pete poses in a tree that is clinging to the rock wall.
That evening we went to a park in Wilmington.
To hear some music and dancing in the rain.
And where we saw the rare double rainbow.
On Friday, Anita and I visited the Olympic Complex in Lake Placid.
Where we experienced the Bobsled Ride. First we donned helmets.
Our team: L to R: brakeman, Anita, Liz, driver
Here we go!
Next we went to the top of the ski jumps.
First a ride up the ski lift.
Then an elevator to the top.
Looking down.
Finally, we went to Whiteface Mountain
Where we took the gondola ride to the top of Little Whiteface
The view of Lake Placid
On Saturday we all left to get out of Hurricane Irene’s path.
The GTG was one of the best I’ve ever attended. Of course, they’re all the best when I’m there! Thanks to Soos for being a wonderful hostess, providing all our needs, and making us all feel welcome and relaxed.
