thanks to you all! I am looking forward to meeting some that I can around the actual campfire as well as in this great forum!

Birdie, I'd love to take you up on that but I will have to be working 8 hours a day while in Kerville. But there will be other opportunities I'm thinking.

And just adding this, if any of you are traveling through my area we have plenty of room for you to boondock here. We don't live in town and there is lots of space. You could be on the road or back in the pasture if you want some lonesome time! We have connections here for our 5th wheel and keep it hooked up most of the time. Around the holidays it comes in handy as we retreat to the RV and let the company have the house! But Steve (hubby) is planning to put in another set of full hookups for visitors. Its somewhere on his list (not sure where!).

We are about 27 miles due north of I-20 if you turn off at Colorado City and head north. Hubby seconded the invite. We always have coffee handy. I can't say most folk find it scenic here but we like it. This weekend they are having the rattlesnake roundup over in Sweetwater so there are a few things around here besides wide open spaces...which we have a lot of. :)
Come to think of it, we could hook you up for electric and water if you parked behind the house....

Hope you guys have a great time on your trip to K'ville and sorry you can't make the GTG. But....we will meet you down the road. Maybe you can make the Potter's Creek GTG in late Oct early Nov. Check it out.

Hello to the the latest welcomers! my goodness, you all outdo yourselves to make someone feel very welcome. I have lots to learn about this traveling life and my hat is off multiple times to the gals who do this as singles. You really are a special breed. I would like to think that I have the grit to do that if I were alone. And whatever your status, I enjoy sharing this love of traveling around.

Birdie, I certainly hope to meet you in person somewhere along the way. I saw some pictures posted by someone (can't remember who) of you all visiting the wetland bird sanctuary down close to Port Isabel and South Padre Island area. Now I just have to go there! I love watching for birds but don't know the names of lots of them. We keep some feeders here and the birds are just walking back and forth on their branches waiting on us to get out there with the feed every morning! Quite a few different kind! I will check on that gtg in the Fall. I am officially retiring next January so may have to wait until then to make it to specific places.

Those TX ladies have lots of fun so be sure you get in on some of the gtg's. I am in AR and hope to get in on one myself.

Welcome Gina, so glad you found your way here. We have a lot of retirees driving school bus here, I've driven a school bus
now for 23 years, and soon to be retired, I'll probably continue doing it just for all the time off to go and do stuff. We had
spring break last week but I'm not quite mobil yet, someday :D

Avalen, pretty name, I've never heard that one. I like your time line! I have a countdown clock on my computer and its saying 324 days, but take away weekends and vacation time and its less than 200! I'm planning on Jan 31st. Steve enjoys driving the bus but he has to come down on those frisky kids from time to time...not sure I could handle that. Maybe Arizona kids are angelic and never cause any trouble..

Liz, thanks for the welcome, I like your signature line, I think I have half a dozen of Tozer's books, he is one of my favorites.

Yeah Mitch, I guess I must have been dreaming to think kids are different from one state to the next! If I tried driving a school bus it would be a nightmare. I really do like kids but don't have the knack Steve has for keeping them under control and still being liked by the kids. We can't go anywhere without him running into some of his kids (its a small town) and they are always talking to him. If it were me driving they would just think I'm a grumpy old woman!

And if it were me driving, they would, for the most part, be bound and gagged. :o
