Thanks for the orange sweet rolls Lori. Not being a coffee drinker, I will pass on the coffee though.

See you are having the hot humid weather that just left us. Not my favorite weather. Today's high is predicted to be around 63 and low in the 40's. Fine by me.

I've been under the weather per say these past few days. One heck of a cold or whatever. All congested with mucus like you wouldn't believe. My work partner went through this last week and was off work for three days. So far this week, I have been off for two. Plan to go back tomorrow though. I was trying to think of what I cold take to help clear this junk up and remember about my sinus rinse stuff. Hadn't been on it, since last year. Got some more and started treatment twice a day. Boy did that help. Been going through Kleenex like water. Feeling much better now, except for the cough that I will have for awhile. Always cough for about a week after I have a cold.

Was laughing when I looked at my kitchen this morning. I've just been nibbling on this and that the past couple of days, and just putting my dish on the sink. Right now it looks like a scene from a bachelor pad movie where all the dishes in the cupboard are on the the sink  Time to get busy washing. Think I will take a nice warm bath too. Been in my jammies for what seems like forever. Haven't even been on the puter here either, so am catching up this morning.

I did however take the girls for a ride on Tuesday for a bit. Snooped out on of the State Parks about 10 miles from me and then drove down to the town of Grayling to Lake Margarethe. A nice lake just out side the the town. On my way out, I had to pull over for a couple of DNR fire trucks and a tanker truck heading out of town. Figured they must have a grass or wildfire started. Once we got out to the lake, I was able to find a shady spot on the boat launch dock and let the girls snoop around for awhile. Tessa of course was wading in and out of the lake at her leisure. While I was sitting there I saw a plume of smoke start up above the trees about a mile away. It kept getting bigger and bigger and I knew that a wildfire had started and was spreading. Fortunately it was heading northeast, away from where I was. Watched it for about an hour and then decided it was time to head for home as girls were getting hot (87 degrees) and so was I. When I got back to the main road, the fire trucks, police cars and conservation officers were coming in from all directions. Found out that the fire burned 800 acres, but fortunately no homes were lost. A few outbuildings though. I was very near summer cottages and homes along a river back there, but the firefighters doused them with foam and water to keep them from burning. Had it been any windier than what it was, it woould have been much worse. They are saying it started by lightening, but funny, cause there weren't any storms around on Tuesday. May be from a strike a bit ago that just sat and smoldered. Was hoping we would have had some rain yesterday, but it all passed over. There is so much pollen around, we need it to wash it away.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are doing.

Is it Thursday already? This first week of retirement has really flown by.

Orange sweet rolls - yummy! Thanks. Tastes great with my morning chai.

The goddess and I are just waking up in an rv park in the Cherokee foothills on the North Carolina side. I've uploaded pix and comments on my blog so you can click on the link in my address line to view them. Feels good to be on the road though only for a week. Heading home tomorrow to tend to the sticks and bricks issues. But we are leaving at the end of June for about a month to OH PA NY and other stops not yet determined.

Cool and misty in the mountains this morning but hot and humid on the other side as we head back to Nashville.

good morning ladies,
watching the news and getting new details on the Wallow fire burning up here in Arizona. So many mountain towns
have been evacuated. I guess the Wallow fire now has its own facebook page.
Really had a chuckle at myself last night when I decided to get ready for bed and get my jammas on, HA! I never took
them off, lol, stayed in my jammas all day. Can't remember when I EVER did that unless I was sick.
Picking up an extra shift at the airport today, will do the dinner break shift. Its my favorite shift really.
Time for my coffee refill and find something for breakfast, maybe toast and a yogurt.
Enjoy your day :D

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING TO ALL!

I slept very fitfully, sometimes with hours of wakefullness last night, due to many lightning-thunder showers that passed through here all night long. The sky was lit up most of the night with tons of lightning. I had to leave the lightning capital of the world in FL to get it back home here! We had a pretty bad wind at supper time and a touch of rain, but the more violent showers happened in the middle of the night. Today they are to be even worse, some with winds up to 70 mph! So far, the one just now passed south of me.

I swamped out the leanto yesterday in the stifling, humid heat. I vacuumed up more white pine pollen than I have seen since the kids were little and would come out of the pond covered in yellow! That pollen is thick, light enough to blow around when dry, thick enough to turn to yellow pudding-like stuff when wet, and so sharp that it crunches when you touch it. I have always wanted to look at it under a microscope, but it's probably a good thing I never have as it would be frightening. :o

The lawn mower is not at the pond, so I need to ask Wiley to take it back down there so I can mow the tall grass.

Today, in the rain, if it materializes here, I guess I will tackle a room in the house to de-stuff. ACK! Coffee time now and reading email----Thanks for those orange rolls!!! YUM! I hope you all have a good day!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Cooler morning here. We did finally get some sun this past weekend. Actually broke 70 degrees on last Saturday. It had been 249 days since the last time we got that warm.
I know some of you are laughing at 70 degrees being warm. For here our normal summer temps are in the 70's. So our 70 is like most people's 90's.

The TT is finally out of winter storage and in the RV service place for all it's annual work.

I will get the ads going soon to sell her. We opted to have all the spring stuff done. So whomever buys it all ready for the season. Now I admit I am not flip flopping on what to do. The reality is here...with 2 high school kids who do sports...I am trying to think..is it worth it...or should we sell it and wait...til we get back to a time where we have more time to go camping.

When we first bought it 5 years ago..we average 45-60 days out for the first couple of years. Then last year we were down to 30 days. This year..if you don't count the family reunion...we have only schedule 4 nights out (DH is not even going to make it to that one).

I think with the money we would save...$500.00/yr storage $130/insurance...then add in the yearly maintenance etc. We could take that same money and use it rent cabins/yurts for the mean time.

I keep debating on what I really want. No matter how much I would love DH to learn how to tow...I don't see it happening. He never towed the tent trailer, and he has only towed this one about 10 miles and we have 8,000-10,000 miles on it. So I am thinking maybe a truck camper instead of a travel trailer....I just don't know...ugh.

Baseball season will wind down in a couple of weeks. Then we will be getting ready to have a yard sale. Then our exchange student will be here from Spain. He arrives July 5th and rtns Aug 5th.

I am shocked how full my summer got..with high school sports having spring/summer training. We have about 4 weeks..where we do not have sports for the summer.

Well I will work on trying to check in more.

Good day everyone! I am a little late for 'good morning' but I am still having coffee. I think we have the same thing around here that Sue has. I can't believe how tired I am and how bad I feel from a cold. Anyway not much time to recoup as I have both granddaughters today. I usually have the 8 yr old 5 or 6 days a week and one evening while her mommy works but they are staying with us for a short bit while we redo some things in a home they just bought. I have the 2 1/2 yr old 2 afternoon/evenings a week and once in a while a day on the weekend. I love them dearly but they sure wear me out. We had planned to get out camping this weekend but DH says he is finishing the hardwood floors for DD so she can get moved. We hope to get out soon. It has been very hot here with heat warnings for 3 days, approx 95 before heat index. Supposed to start raining tomorrow and rain predicted for the next 6 days. Sure hope it cools down some. So happy to be here and share coffee with all of you. Have a wonderful day!
