Friday is Passing

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday is Passing

Yep, it's already Friday afternoon. I've cooked a couple stuffed peppers and several stuffed jalapeno peppers. They are cooling to freeze. Cookies are in the oven. Tomorrow I think I'll throw some meat and veggies in the pressure cooker. Replenishing the freezer with quick meals is fun and makes life so much easier for me. The three cookies are just a treat.

If I don't go to town tomorrow morning my leaving will be put off till Monday as I want to fill my propane and can do it here in the park Monday morning.

Just finishing up last minute errands and watching the potential snow event predicted for the wester Carolinas and Virginia. Cindy and I usually head straight down I 77 but we may want to reconsider and take the I 75 route down. As of now I am moving my packing head of schedule in case we decide to leave early and get out in front of the weather.

Hoping Friday passes fast. In fact, hope entire winter passes fast. I am tired of trying to stay warm. Thank Heaven for two efficient electric heaters.

It got down to 25 degrees last night, making me worry about things freezing. Luckily, I have heated spaces where tanks are located and I am using water from fresh water tank. Big problem is that I have to put on warm clothes and go outside to pull the handles to dump grey and black tank and fill the water tank with my hose. Brrrr! High today is supposed to be 44, but it is barely 36 and almost time for sun to set.

Low tonight is 36, so no worries about freezing, and rest of week is slightly warmer. Tomorrow is supposed to be 55 so I will do my laundry then because I have to walk a short distance to laundry room. Been two weeks since i last did laundry. I own a lot of clothes for just such times when doing laundry is not convenient. And if I feel really lazy tomorrow, I can wait another few days, but I do need to change my bed.

Had a little bit of a fever last night and night before, so I did notify doctor but am still waiting for them to decide what I need to do, if anything.

I took a look at the creek this morning and I could tell it was a lot higher yesterday than I had thought. It came right up to my retaining wall. Another 5-6 feet higher and it would be up to my house. I decided I would call my insurance guy about getting flood insurance. But before I could do that, I got a letter in the mail from the insurance company saying my policy has been cancelled! I called him right away and it seems I missed a payment back in July and didn't realize it so in November they cancelled it. So I am not insured right now for anything. He is working on getting it reinstated and getting me caught up with the missing payment. I must be getting old...I marked that on my bills spreadsheet as being paid but nothing was showing for a payment made in my checking account. My bad!

I am not happy with my roommate right now. When I walked around the yard this morning, I went by the raised veggie garden in back which is made up of cement blocks with a top row of small red bricks. Apparently she needed to spray paint something before she went on her trip and just painted the thing on the bricks without putting anything under it to cover the bricks, so the bricks are now orange! It looks like hell. I confronted her about it and she said she was sorry and that she was in a hurry. No excuse in my mind! Who does that?? Even kids know enough to at least put some paper or something down before painting things. She said she will replace the bricks. Grrrr!!

I discovered the other day that one of my stove burners isn't working and now we can't get the oven to work. Always something!

Was very busy at work today! My feet hurt since I had no time to sit for 5 hours of straight cutting. Will be busy now until Christmas.

Hoping tomorrow is a better day...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
