I knew the Titer test is used a lot to lower quarantine time when an animal is transported to another country that requires quarantining. Mitch, it checks the immunity level in the animals system. The exact same shot can be required annually in some states or counties, and only every 4 years in others. I will only get them with a minimum of 3 years. Moxie had reactions to the shots and the less I had to have her get them, the happier I was. And she was. If a vet tells you the animal needs the shot annually (and it's not required legally annually) I'd change vets.

Good Sunday morning from Fitzgerald, GA. It's cloudy today, but the skydivers are still floating from the sky. I went to church this morning at one of little historic churches I saw when touring the town. Friendly congregation, and I was glad I knew all the hymns they chose.

After church I went to tour the Blue and Gray museum, but it was closed for lunch. So Thistle and I went for a ride to the nearby Jefferson Davis Historic State Park. It is the site of Jefferson Davis's capture near the end of the Civil War. There is a small museum, some historical markers describing the capture, a memorial at the exact site in a grove of old pines that were growing back then, and a small trail to walk on the old road that Davis followed to that location. I went in the museum to look around and pay the $3.50 entry fee. A lady came out and said a ranger would be out in a minute. I looked around for about 10 minutes, leaving Thistle in the car, then went to tour the outside areas with Thistle. Never did find anyone to pay.

Hope everyone finds something fun to do today.

Happy St Patty's Day
I've been overwhelmed with plowing thru 2 months of mail and a badly overloaded answering machine which I forgot to check while gone. Most is tax or insurance related plus inquires about my BIL who passed away while I was in FL.

Weather has been great making it difficult to stay focused on tasks at hand however that will end tonight as rain moves in along with a cold front. Potentially severe thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow.

Nicky is much happier about being back than I am. I sure miss all the company of the forum ladies. Discovered I lost a couple of pounds while gone; probably would have done even better if it weren't for that wonderful pie contest at Nan's campground.
Congrats, Sue on the retirement and Kathleen on the continued weight loss. Good for both of you.

Need to get back to work. Have a great day.

A little late, but wanted to wish everyone a Happy Paddy's day...

Sarah, I can imagine there is a let down after all the fun & company - especially when greeted with a pile of mail! Hopefully you'll be able to hit the road soon again & continue the fun of GTGs.

Liz, I love going to different churches - even here in town. I like getting a sense of the real life of the surrounding community. I have also loved all your posts of your travels - thanks for taking us along. :D

I've got a quiet day finally - oldest daughter & girls left for Texas around noon. Others filtered out shortly thereafter - just me, the college kids, the dogs & DD's cats... peaceful & quiet - amen! :)
New pup (Sadie) did really well with all the comings & goings - she is appropriately socialized now. We've had friends & family, son's Weimaraner, granddaughter's boxer/pit mix, cats & tons of activity the last 4 days - she loves the attention & fit in like she's always been a part of this crazy family.
Here are a couple of pics I managed to get...

Grandson & Sadie

Side by side with her idol - Sierra...

They look like they're the same size but Sierra has about 15 pounds on Sadie & is about 2 inches taller. Sadie wants to be her BFF & Sierra tolerates her, but the age difference has its challenges. Thankfully Sadie respects Sierra to no end & tries to 'pet' her, 'kiss' her & then lets her go off on her own without any protest.

Don't know how can anyone think this dog should have been put down?? :x :x

Well, I'd better get a bit of work done...
Hope everyone enjoys St. Paddy's Day... Stay safe...
