First Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Friday

:P

Good Morning,

Just sitting down to a couple of slices of French toast this mornng, while I wish you all a Good Morning. I have bread here if anybody else wants any. Also have some bacon and OJ around. French toast just sounded good to me this morning. Will have a bowl of strawberries in little bit. Stoking up before I hit the gym class, as that will burn up calories fast, so one doesn't want to go on an empty stomach. At least we will get two sessions in this week. Wednesday was cancelled because of the snowstorm.

Speaking of snowstorms, there is another one coming. We are under a Winter Storm Warning again for tonight into tomorrow and this one sounds worse than the last one. Expected snow totals of at least 10-15 inches possibly more along with high winds and blowing anddrifting snow. They say it will fall at a rate of 1-2 inches an hour. If it hits as hard as they are predicting, we could have ourselves an old fashioned blizzard. We shall see. If it shifts north a bit, it will lessen the snowfall total here, but not by a lot. So that means, since Wednesday, we can have as much as 20-30 inches of snow in just a bit over two days  But next weeks highs are heading into the 40's and sunny, so this stuff being so wet and heavy, will melt down. I'm going to get out my one snow rake this afternoon and pull down what snow is on top of my TT's roof. That stuff is really heavy. I know those roofs can hold a person's weight, but why push it, especially on the skylight cover.

Wendy, sure hope you don't get any bad weather around your area again, but I know that this storm, like the last one is spawning tornado's and severe weather. Keep safe all of you in the midwestern states and across toward the east.

Well, it's the second day of the GTG. They were having a "welcoming party" last night, so wonder how that went. I guess Bob (ORS) had signs made up for everybody to put on their rigs with either ORS or Women RV of something along with names, handles etc., so they would know who's who. Clever idea. And Alice (ORS) was planning on doing some kind of LED light display last night too, so it will be interesting reading to see what all went on. Course doesn't mean they are going to tell us  Actually, they may be callling for bail money

I am going to mosey along here and catch up with some of the other posts. Those of you at the GTG, have a fun and wonderful day, anybody who's on the road, drive safe, if you are in the path of bad weather, keep out of harn's way, and for all the rest of you, have a great day.

Good morning everyone, from somewhere N.E. of Tallahassee. Having my morning coffee, haven't greeted Sarah yet. ( Hi, Sarah setting on your steps :) )
I'm not dressed yet, always like that first cup of coffee before dressing, now I'm on the computer, another excuse. Still early and not looking like a pretty day either outside. Before hitting the road on my trips like to let the morning commuters get to their jobs, don't want to get in their way, so have time yet to mess around LOL. ( that sounds like another excuse to be lazy ).

Wish we had had more time in Ocala, but my time has run out, have to get home and get my well working as my daughter and family are going to be there 10th or so, can you imagine, 5 more at my home, and no water? :o  Would so loved to have enjoyed Kathleen, Irmi and Steve's company for a longer time.

My app. for service on my r.v., in Ocala , turned out to be a joke, and a very bad one. After waiting for 2 and half hours and each time I checked he said parts area was still checking to see if they had my filters etc., he then comes and tells me, that I have a sprinter chassis's and they really don't do much for them, but would change my oil, then later he says no filters for my unti. I told them all of this when I called way back and made the app. Supposedly a place in Ringgold , Ga. takes care of what I have, and its closer to home, just more miles between oil changes this time then I wanted. Surpisely, I was not all riled up inside, just a wee ticked. Boy, am I getting slow to react in my ol age  , or maybe know things happen, roll with it . Not sure which but saved my energy and I'm ok.

I'm hoping Sarah won't have problems this morning, starting her r.v. Shakes her confidence and think she could really enjoy having it, if things would just quit happening. Yesterday was a good day, and she seemed much calmer then when we started, but then we all know how she was feeling and how once a trip is started, you settle back and start to enjoy yourself. Hope weather stays ok today, not looking to good, so won't go there now.

I need to get moving around here, so "we're on the road again".

Have a great day all and I am trying sooo hard not to think of all the good times you Texas GTG people are having, I would so loved to have been there. So enjoy all the fun for all of us, and keep us posted , you here?

SSSSooooo good to see that Liz, started yesterdays post, made for a better day.

Morning, Ladies
As Irmi reported in the campfire last night, Magic refused to start yesterday so Carol and I got a very late start. However once underway, the drive was not bad, light traffic and misty rain along the way. I started driving when I was about 10 years old and in those 60 years I've never fueled a vehicle with it running. I didn't dare shut her off yesterday but did turn the LP off; filled up then got away from pumps as fast as possible. In spite of the nasty little bugs Magic keeps throwing at me, some things are going well. Hooking up and unhooking have not turned out to be as difficult as I expected, nor has driving her. Backing up is a different issue but got lucky in this tiny campground as almost all sites are pull thrus. I certainly didn't need the stress of more difficult parking last evening.

Carol and I pooled our resources last night for dinner and had a chance for a good long visit; even a couple of hands of cards.

Now if Magic will just start this morning it could be a good day in spite of the weather forecast - 30% chance of thunderstorms along our path today and 100% chance overnight. Once this cold front gets thru the temps are forecast to drop by 20 to 30 degrees; when that happens the threat of severe weather will diminish greatly. Thankful that the worse of it should pass over us during the night when we expect to be safely tucked in a campground somewhere.

Have a great day.

Hey all, nothing on the agenda today except go buy batteries for my weather radio. And a nap?! I have never heard before the weatherman telling us not to go to bed tonight. Wendy

Wendy, that is just too danged downright scary! Get some of those batteries, pronto, in case you do fall asleep. Does your radio go off with an alarm if there is a tornado warning, in case you do fall asleep? And, if it does go off, what is your plan on where to go? I think I remember you said you would head to the cellar somewhere, yes? Maybe you should set up a cot down there with your radio, a TV, some water, and Pepper. I could never live in an area where those whirlwinds come around with such regularity----I would be a gibbering idiot. (No comments needed here, y'all!)

For the rest of you all, GOOD MORNING!

Carol and Sarah are probably on the road by now, hopefully, and on their way northward. The more I hear about problems with motor homes, the more I think I am going to be happy with just my truck and my trailer. Although that beautiful Class C of Karen's keeps gnawing at me!

I hope all are waking up to some decent weather in TX, and the company of so many wonderful camping souls! The rest of us will be anxiously awaiting pictures somewhere on here, and please be sure you don't leave that chore to someone else, as you might all assume that!

Alice, save me some corn muffins or cornbread! I sure did pig out on that stuff in Wekiwa!

I plan to go again to the pool this afternoon, after I pick up around here a bit and perhaps do a dog walk earlier than usual. I am thinking of you Texans!

The weatherman told you not to go to bed??? Yikes! You guys have sure had your share of bad weather the last few years. Weather's nuts out here, but nothing like you've had.

Nothing new or exciting here. Chewy has a class Sat and Sun, a trainer that my trainer is bringing in. A special socialization class. The problem is that Chewy is a perfect little lady in class...and then she turns into Cujo when she gets out in public. I'm hIoping this class will give me some insight into what to do when she does that. Fingers crossed, ladies!

Haven't heard a word from the group in Tx, they're being way to quiet for my taste! Wonder why? Anyone gotten a call for bail bucks yet?

Hope Liz is doing better, and no word on poor little Bandit yet. sigh. I'm sure they'll find him, but cats are strange little guys and it may take some time.

Sarah, hoping your Magic started up ok this morning and the rest of the trip is drama free. Carol, keep and eye on her, you've had plenty of experience with recalcitrant rv's. Just be safe, both of you.

Sarah glad to hear you are on your way. Just remember that emergency start button will start your engine even if the engine battery won't. Be safe.

Wendy hope this weather will soon pass out of Alabama, this has been a very bad year there.

I am leaving Panama City Beach today heading home. My grandson is married, my daughter got a job, so leaving here with all is well.

Big storms just moved through here, our yard looks like a lake!! We had been to the vet with the two little dogs for their check ups & just got inside the house when the deluge hit. Our vet is about 20 minutes south and we got out of there just in time, the storm was even worse down there and we ran ahead of it all the way home whew!
The sun is out now and it is beautiful, this is strange weather. I hope Sarah's home is ok I heard Huntsville had damage. Wendy isn't far away so hope she checks in, I think Carol and Sarah on on the road.
Glad to see you post Mitch sounded like the storm was also going to be in your vicinity. I'm having a glass of wine, between the storm and the vet bill I need it!!

Maybe I do need to drive down to Rockport and check on the GTG - see if I need to stop at the county pokey first.

We've been out and about this morning. Went to PPL to pick up a blue tote. I have really small tanks and this will be the first time I will have been in one spot for 6 days. I imagine I'm going to have to dump at least once and would rather not go through the bother of unhooking and rehooking. Plus when I have my niece and her friend next month, I won't have to worry about them doing the dishes

I was going to give the Land Dinghy a bath this afternoon but we came through one tiny shower on the way home. Not sure it's a good idea now.
