TX GTG Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TX GTG Thursday

Postby Liz » Thu Mar 01, 2012 12:11 am

I think I'll be the first to post as it's about 11 Central...must be Thursday in the east. Today begins the much anticipated TX GTG. Silver Lining won't be there, but I will join Birdie and am looking forward to some diversion. There will be lots of diversion I'm sure.

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, help and generous offers. I can't express all that it means to me. One most generous offer that I plan to accept is the use of Karen's RV while I am shopping for my new one. No, I don't think I'll drive it. Karen is bringing it to the GTG and Birdie will help me get it to another location after the GTG. I'll get a rental car to do my RV shopping, and that will give me a little breathing room. So big thanks to Karen for that. Also won't ever be able to repay the kindnesses of Birdie, Beth, and Conni for all they have done to help me. I'll bet Conni will be glad to have her house back.

No luck on finding Bandit yet, but the landowners around where he escaped are all aware, and flyers with Bandit's picture have been distributed. He is also microchipped, and they have been notified as well. Thanks for your prayers for Bandit too.

I am sore, but not too bad, and can still function pretty well. When I picked up the police report, they told me that the driver of the other car is still in intensive care, but expected to live. Her baby is fine.

So off to bed for me.

Liz - thank God, the other woman is going to make it. And I pray that you find Bandit soon.

Just want to offer a suggestion of one place to look for Silver Lining's replacement. PPL in Houston has a great selection of all kinds of RV/trailers. And I live in that area if you need anything.

We were on their website last night - is a place I always check. And a friend from the single's forum who will be with us tomorrow sold his last rv at PPL.

Almost midnight here - my rv is a disaster - and I think will stay this way - maybe I can find some minutes during the gtg to straighten things out. Ha... who's kidding who, here?

I'm so glad you are doing OK, Liz, and can still attend the GTG. Thank God for girlfriends, huh? How nice to have the use of that RV! I'm sure you will find your replacement RV soon and, hopefully, Bandit, too!

So glad to see you a little upbeat and able to enjoy the GTG Liz. How very generous of Karen to offer you a temporary home while you shop for another rv. Expected nothing less from one of our sisters.

If you do any shopping on line and find something promising in this area I can go look at it for you. If it's something you want to buy we'll figure out a way for you to either come here to get it or bring it to you. I'm aware that you would never want to buy something sight unseen...I sure wouldn't....but there's room here for you and a car available.

So glad the other lady is going to be ok and praying that Bandit finds his way back home to his mom and brother.

Great news, Liz. Both about you able to attend the GTG and about the other driver. Those photos were just horrific! Take it easy for a few weeks because those bruises are internal injuries. Nothing wrong with a bit of pampering! ;)

Good Morning Ladies... Liz so glad you will be ok and also the other lady... what a horrific thing to happen....
Margie flew home safely yesterday... what a great visit we had!
Yesterday evening Irmi and Steve had Sarah, Carol and me over to dinner then we tried to get the Wii working in my motorhome... Carol got a bit tired and went home... we got it working and I was yelling with the other ladies... Carol came back and said she heard us and so did the whole rv park
Yes we have a great group of ladies...
Take care and be safe

Good morning
Liz - So happy to see you post and that you've made it to the gtg and have a plan with place to stay while you shop for a new home.

I had another problem develop last night with MAGIC. We went to visit with Irmi and Kathleen - were gone for about 3 or 4 hours - had a wonderful time.

When I came back my porch light was very dim. I check surge protector every thing else I knew to do. Finally called Steve. After a while he discovered my inverter/convertor (??) breaker had tripped and my house batteries were almost depleted. Once he flipped the breaker, it went back to using the parks power. No idea why it tripped however. Another thank you to Steve and one of the sisters as Carol had offered to travel with me back to Hutsville (before this problem). I'm so glad as now I'm not at all comfortable going alone.

Not sure we will have any internet after we leave here but will check in if possible.

Have a great day.

Liz, so glad to hear from you this morning and know that you are a bit upbeat. My prayers are going out for you that you find Bandit and also a new home on wheels. Reading about Karen's generosity brought tears to my eyes. This certainly is a great group of sisters to belong too and I am so looking forward to eventually meeting some of you personally when I have a chance. You have made me feel that I can travel anywhere in the U.S. and know that there will be a sister willing to help should I have a problem somewhere down the line. I know it's been said before but "ladies you Rock".

Another thing too Liz. The National Multilist that your friends have their MH listed on, is showing some Treks for sale here in MI. Not that you will be coming north as I know you want to head west, but just wanted to let you know that. I"m sure that there are probably other states with listings as well. After looking at the pictures of the crash, all I can say is thank goodness for a well constructed vehicle. I'm also glad that the other lady is going to be okay although she will probably have a long recovery.

The big winter storm is over here now, just a few lingering snow showers along the east side of the state. We have at least 8 inches of snow on top of what was already here, so there's definitely over a foot of snow out there now. And another storm with more snow is expected tomorrow afternoon and night. Although this one might take the bulk of the snow a bit farther north. It has dashed any hopes of an early spring here. Though the long term forecast are calling for very mild weather next week and that will settle the snow down dramatically. I'm waiting for the county plow to clear the road before I go out and run the blower over the drive again. The plow will throw a mess into my drive, so want to clean that up and then be done with it till probably Saturday. Plan to work on my spring sign today too as I can just be a lady of leisure and do what I want today. Will walk the dogs later too as we couldn't go yesterday. Sure missed gym class yesterday. Should have class tomorrow though. I don't have a lot of weeks left, so want to get in all I can.

Well, the final leg toward the GTG has begun. Beth, Liz, Birdie from one direction, Pete, Gloria, Alice and Carol from the other. Wish I culd be down there joiining you, but... Probably better anyway, as I would have been on the road right in the middle of the storms coming across that part of the country. Let the good times roll! Drive safe all of you.

Hi Liz
Not sure if you are a member of Roadtrek International or not. Even if you're not you can still Access their website and look at Roadtreks for sale. You would be dealing with Roadtrek owners who for one reason or another are selling their units. Usually it is health reasons. Good luck in finding another Silver Lining.

So glad to see you posting, Liz. I just know Bandit will show up.

Karen, see there was a reason your RV hasn't sold yet. What a neat idea to let Liz use it!!

GOOD RABBITS MORNING TO ALL!

I forgot to remind everybody about RABBITS last night, but on my early morning bathroom trip, I remembered and shouted RABBITS before anything else. I sure hope that maybe it will bring luck to finding Bandit. I was so happy to see Liz's post this morning, and hear the good news about her having a place to live while shopping for a new house! (I LOVE Karen's rig, and wish I could own it----perhaps some day I will go that direction.) I'll bet those at the GTG will be more than excited to see her, and all the others, too, of course. I am also so happy to read that the mom who was in the crash is expeced to live so she can hold her baby again! I sure do wish I could have made the trip, but maybe another time.

Happy that Kath's daughter made it saely home, and I can imagine what a geat time together they had.

Sarah, am happy that Carol will be following you back home, too. Perhaps it was just a power surge that tripped a breaker?? Hang in there!

It's warm, expected to get into the mid 80s here today, but not too humid any more after the morning fog, with a nice breeze circulating throughout the house. It will be another pool day for me, for sure. The water is colder than it was a month ago, but very tolerable.

I gave the poochies their heartworm meds and put the flea/tick stuff between their shoulder blades, as neither of the meds, although they prevent and kill fleas, kill and prevent tick infestations. I was so excited when they first told me I would not need to buy and use the shoulder blade stuff, but they failed to tell me about the ticks. Sigh.

Happy wagon-training to all those headed to the GTG, and safe travels to all on the move wherever you may be.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
