Foggy Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Foggy Wednesday

Postby Birdie » Wed Feb 29, 2012 8:46 am

Good Morning World! I got to do the Leap Year first coffee - which is French Vanilla. Cannot believe that.

Slightly foggy here this a.m. Seagulls calling for breakfast. Got lots planned today and hope to get some afternoon sun. Tomorrow is the start of the Mustang island GTG and I am excited to get there and meet up with ole friends and make some new ones.

Hope everyone has a great day. Breakfast is courtesy of Mickey D's inside Wally's world. So you sistah's on the road, drive carefully, watch out for the other driver. Be safe and you know, have fun today.

Okay got to go find Liz's angel she dropped in the car, I really don't want to need that you know.

I see Gloria's post here.. which is easier to see than her rig.. which is parked four spaces down from me. Lots of fog here at Galveston Island State Park.

Hope to do a little hiking and geoaching today.

Tomorrow, back on the road.

I wish I was at Galveston with you gals this morning. But I had to brave the drizzle and fog (3rd morning this week) to drive to work instead. I'm not that far up the road from you - on the road to TX independence, where the San Jacinto battle field is located. We are now in the period of the year when Texians fought for their independence from Mexico. The siege on the Alamo has already started. Friday is the anniversary of the date TX declared its independence... can you tell I'm a native Texan? :D

Finally planned my route to Caprock Canyons so that I could get my stopovers planned. I'm taking 2 days to make the drive each way - it's going to be over 11 hours of just driving, not counting the gas/bathroom breaks. Unfortunately, I almost left it too long. I didn't get where I originally wanted but I'm stopping at Lake Whitney both ways, at a COE park on the way up and the State Park on the way back.

Need to go find some more Diet Dr. Pepper this morning. It's going to be a double caffeine kind of day.

Good morning, and it really is a Great morning. After viewing those pix of Liz's r.v., all I can say is THANK YOU LORD, for being with her and keeping her safe. Thank you also for all of our Sistahs out there being there every step of the way with her. To see the accident happen and be there, I can't even imagine (and don't want to), the scare it had to have been. So as I said, IT REALLY IS A GREAT DAY !! How anyone could walk out of that vehicle and be as ok, as she says she is.

I'm in Ocala, must leave in a few mins. to get service done on r.v. Maggie, would like a nice walk and I'm hoping fog lifts , only have over a mile to go, but I would like to be seen and also to see :o Have a really nice neighbor too, Sarah, hoping to hurry back and visit with others that are here. Irmi, fed us last night, now, now ladies, no envying there, yes, she is a super cook. A really nice person too, nice to come into a park you've never been too and have someone calling out to you, and you know them. Each day, I think we all have reason to find, that this Sistahood we have is a wonderful group of women. I, for one, am very proud of being able to be a member of such a fine group, thank you all.

Maggie has her legs crossed, Have a Great day ladies.

G'morning from dreary NJ!

My thoughts are, of course, with everyone, but especially Liz and Bandit.

Looks like we're just going to have rain instead of snow. I'm still so much of a Texas gal and young at heart that I enjoy watching snowfall. The little we've had this year is perfect; enough to go "Wow, that's soooo pretty," and then its gone within 24 hours. Had enough of shoveling big-time snow when we lived in northern MN for a couple of years.

No plans to leave the property today, as I was expecting nasty weather. WunderMap (I love this thing!) still shows we are in for a lot of rain, so I'll be sticking right here!

Have indoor projects to do, as always.

Told a g/f about this place and hope she will check us out soon. She is planning on retirement probably this year and has already picked out (but not ordered yet) the fifth wheel she wants! Is that cool, or what?

Have a groovy day, ladies, and - if you are on the road - may the only honking you hear be geese! 8-)

Wish I were on my way to the GTG :( I love foggy beaches. The sun is trying to come out here, storms woke me twice during the night but tornado warnings were just a few miles south when I checked the weather so went back to sleep.
Nothing planned here for the day until mid-afternoon so I may have to face the vacuum, Sue want to come help since your house is all clean!

Good Morning Ladies,

Birdie, it is very foggy here too, only it's snow and not fog. We are in a Major winter storm which is dumping snow very hard on us right now. Seems like an inch an hour to me sometimes. They said there would be a big burst this morning and then it would stop, but more coming in later this afternoon and evening as the storm moves past. Predicted accumulations between 6-10". Some areas are to get about 1/4' of ice from freezing rain. They have also said to be watchful for downed trees and powerlines and possible power outages. I'm prepared, so let it roar. I'll clean it up when it's all over. Sometimes I can barely see across the road out here. A lot of schools closed and so are country bus transits. Needless to say, no gym class either. Now way am I going out in this. Nope, am going to run the vac and do some dusting around here.

Certainly hope that Bandit can be located before Liz and everybody leave for the TX GTG. I would hate to think of that poor cat wandering around in a strange place and wondering where Liz is and I'm sure by now, that Liz is very concerned about him too. And I hope that Liz is doing okay this morning.

Just let Sassy in from off the deck a bit ago. She loves to be out in this kind of weather. Turns into an abominable snowdog. She came in all full of snow and shook off a pile on my kitchen floor  Hmmm, maybe I won't have to bother washing the floor today

Well, just wanted to check in and let you know that all's well here, I still have power and all that. Have a wonderful day. Alice, I hope you find a geocache on this special Leap Year day. Those of you who are on the road, please be careful. Everybody else, enjoy what you are doing even if it's working.

GOOD MORNING TX-BOUNDERS AND ALL!

I am so sorry for the fog that is blocking your views in sunny TX, and sure do hope it lifts soon so you can appreciate your surroundings. Although you cannot see the beach, according to Alice, at least you can hear the surf which would make me happy. Taking a ferry in a heavy fog as you all did yesterday would not be so much fun, however. So sorry that treat was blocked in for your eyes.

I'm hoping Liz is feeling more rested and less anxious today, but that she will obey the requests of her buddies to stay down, calm, and quiet while her body tries to heal. I read that she went to Silver Lining yesterday to either help move stuff or supervise, and that was probably very stressful. However, a ride there to the accident site where Bandit, hopefully, is hiding out, to call for him and try to get him to come to her would not be out of order, as that will help the mind to heal as well.

I saw on the news that more tornadoes hit Missouri again last night, Brandon included. It seems to me we know somebody who lives there? I sure hope everyone is ok this morning, and you all still keep a wary eye to the skies as you meander your way along. Our weather is becoming more and more iffy as our planet tries to adjust to whatever is happening to it, and weather stations, although they are still learning how to be more accurate in their predictions of what's happening, are still worthy of listening and watching.

Happy camping and geocaching and beach combing today to all of you on your way to the GTG, and the rest of us need to find something fun to do as well. I plan to get online to my bank to make sure my retirement funds were deposited so I can pay some bills and try again to get my feet clear of debt so I can relax more.

Sue, happy to hear you still have power and that you are enjoying the snowfall! As long as it's just snow and not that icy stuff, you should be ok.

I didn't realize that so many of you are still in Ocala north of me----I am so close and yet so far, until today when I should have my retirement funds now deposited in my bank account. It's dificult living from paydeposit to paydeposit, as by the time a new one is expected, the bank account is full of emptiness! Sigh---how well I know about Irmi's great cooking skills, and how I would have loved to sample more of them once again. Perhaps next year? Or, amybe she and Steve can come north to the Ruckus in the Mountains this summer? I think it's less than 500 miles from NJ to my place, and all pretty easy driving. (Which reminds me, it's nearly time to try to set a date for that event soon----after this huge TX event, when everyone can think a bit about what dates would work for them!)

Anyone celebrating a birthday today on this Leap Year day? I envy those who are legally only one quarter as old as the rest of us!

Heeeeeere, Bandit! Come home to Mommy today, please!

Happy travels!

Foggy and drippy here too, I am SO tired of gloomy loking days. Make me kind of draggy, was bummed yesterday. I guess because of Liz and especially missing Bandit, and my granddaughter ( gsons wife)lost their baby. They are doing ok, I didn't realize how much i had been looking forward to a small one (as long as someone else's) at famiy gatherings. And it was so neat seeing my son excited about becoming a grandpa! But add those things to gloomy weather, and ....Today I am going to the courthouse to fill out a card not to pay property taxes, that will cheer me up! Sarah, take your time about returning to drippy Alabama! Those with friends have fun, those traveling stay safe. Oh Soos, are we supposed to shout out anythin g for leap year day??? Wendy

Oh Wendy, I am so sorry about the loss of the baby. It is one of life's cruelest blows to anticipate a little life that will never become a reality. The only solace I was able to muster from losing an unborn child was that it made room for another little soul that never would have had the chance to be, otherwise. Hugs to you all as you struggle to get over the loss, and may another soul be looming in the future soon.

As for shouting something on Leap Year Day----I am ignorant of anything if there is something! My grandma didn't tell me anything about that!

As i am looking out my window i see snow flakes!! Of course they wont stick thank goodness... Can anyone spare some nice warm sun?

Do pray that LIz will find her cat today...

I started an excerise class last week but came down with a darn cold.. so have missed.. i think its alittle to 'bouncy' for me... so i will go over to Silver Slippers and see how active they are.. I went once along time ago and found it sortta slow, but maybe thats for me? I see they have no classes for 'inbetween'... will have to choose which i like best... Cold is still hangin on some so wont go because i will just start coughing again... Other than that i feel pretty good.

I got a call to take my pick to HOST at 2 different parks.. i really am not enthused about doing either one.. i wont go unless i can get satilite tv... even tho they keep ya semi busy evening are way to long to sit at the park for 30 days. I put in for the one i have done for the last 2 yrs, so will go back there if they call..
its close to home ( 20 min) so on my days off i can come home and wash cloths .. collect the mail and pay bills. with the price of gas i can go to far.

Well nothing exciting here.. hope all is well with everyone today.... Have a great day

The pictures were taken where the rig was towed to - not the site of the accident (which is where Bandit got loose).
