Mornin' everyone!

Have a nice Sunday planned with no real plans! Aaaahhhh. . .

Well, actually, I'll be heading out to do marketing with a first stop at the kitchen place in the mall. Seems we just can't get a decent pizza here, so I'm going to get a pizza stone and give a shot at making my own.

There's no Downton Abbey tonight except repeat of season finale. :| We play snooker on the Wii, so guess it will be snooker night again!

We survived the winds of yesterday; today is still very chilly but sunny out.

Have a great day!

Good Morning from COLD, RAINY Ocala.
I don't yet have an air card and the campground internet connection is slower than any dial up I ever had - took me almost 15 minutes to log in here. Was so looking forward to catching up on the forum but not likely to happen unless the speed picks up a lot.

The drive from Lakeland to Ocala yesterday was not any where as difficult as I thought it might be as there were wind warnings out for high profile vehicles. Magic started right up when we got ready to leave - still have not IDed the problem - just hoping it is gone. We stayed off the Interstate and took our time. Took a couple of trys to get into site here at Wandering Oaks; had to back around two trees. Nan stayed last night but she will be leaving for home later today. Been a real sanity saver having her with me. Irmi and Kathleen made salad and bar-b-que chicken for dinner and we had good visit in the community building (cold outside).

Glad I packed winter PJs; sure needed them last night. Turned heat on late to chase chill before going to bed. Had to turn it back off quickly as it set off the alarms. Have tried it a few more times this AM and still setting off alarm. Think it is the "new" smell" causing it. Hate wasting LP trying to get warm when I have to open the door right away to stop alarm - kinda defeats the purpose.

linann and her sister are coming this afternoon for a visit and to see my new rig. Other than that, I will probably spend the next two rainy days reading manuals which I haven't gotten around to doing yet. Maybe there is a hint on how to have heat without alarms.

Have a great day whatever you are into and I'll try to catch up a bit on forum as I can get internet connection to respond.

Good morning all, it should be in interesting Daytona 500 although maybe a bit rainy. I remember last year how a virtual unknown 20 (I think ) yr old kid won it. Sarah, I hate to tell you while you are in Fla it's beautiful in Alabama!! Guess thats another part of camping! Asked Scott what your starting problem might be, didnt know if it doesnt start at all or starts and won't turn over. That would be some sort of fuel problem, but I would take it to a Ford dealer and have it checked. There should be one nearby while you're there. Time for more coffee read paper and kids are stopping by later they said. Don't know what time but am going out to do something with this nice sunny day! Everyone be sate and have fun most of all! Sarah, good to hear from you. I was wondering how you were making out. I hate to tell you but the smoke alarm might be an on going problem. Hopefully once the new burns off the furnace it won't set it off. I have had problems with making toast in every motorhome I have had and sometimes what you are cooking on the stove will set the smoke alarm off. I have one of the shower caps that some motels give away that I put over the smoke alarm if I want to cook. You could also use a plastic bag and a rubber band. Just remember to take it off when you finish cooking. I wouldn't cover it and go to bed.

My son was talking about making his own pizza so I decided to try one. I didn't know what I was doing and it still came out pretty good. I didn't have enough cheese on it. It wasn't greasy like the ones you buy and I find some of the frozen pizzas too greasy.

No plans for today but getting ready to leave for Texas. Have to make a list of all the things I need to do before I leave. Can't wait to get on the road.

Good Afternoon to all you East Coasters and Good Morning to all those on the Left coast. Cloudy and a bit of a sharp breeze here today. Last I heard, might have a little light snow tonight, maybe an inch. No big deal.

Just came back in from taking the dogs for a short walk. Am heading over to my cousin's for game day in a little while. Haven't had that for awhile. Not that we don't see each other at gym class three days a week. She is going to be leaving for FL in couple of weeks. Just a short little trip down for a couple of weeks. Has a sister and some other friends down there. Hubby wants to go more than she does.

Went to church this morning, had lunch and work on my lettering template for my next sign. Need to realign a few letters one more time before I put them to the sign. The hope my paint markers cooperate. I really need a fine time paint marker, but only have medium here. May have to go get another one, but yellow is not always easy to find in fine tip. I can use a brush, but the marker does so much better on the lettering. Will see how it all turns out.

Sarah, glad to hear you made it to Wandering Oaks. I envy you have a "new to you" rig and learning how to use all the stuff in it. I wouldn't be surprised if the furnace is setting of the alarms as my gas stove did that here when I first got it, till the "new" smell went away. Going to have to get a little portable heater. But spring and summer are coming, so you won't have to worry about that for awhile.

Carol, so nice to see you back. Missed your posts and looking forward to hearing what you have been up to all winter. Still waiting for you to make that MI trip someday.

sounds like everybody else are just having a relaxing Sunday, nothng exciting. Nothing wrong with that. So I am going to mosey along here and read some of the other posts.

Sarah, check what alarm is going off. I thought it was my smoke detector until i tracked the sound to my Co2 alarm.

Good afternoon all!
Just a lazy day here at the gate. Waiting for the rain to clear so we can enjoy Daytona 500. Here in Cotulla, TX it's sunny and should be in the 60's today. All the wildflowers are a blooming making the red dirt fields and roads beautiful.

I'm catching up on all the posts on the forum since I just joined. Enjoying them all. Now I'm off to make some lunch, more reading and probably a nap.

Mitch,

My oven goes up to 475. Hopefully, that will be good enough.

How about a convection oven? Ever tried that?

Cheers!

Good afternoon all!

I wish I could be in Ocala today to see Sarah's new rig in person and visit with all those there, but-----here's what we did instead of my trying to go there:

My son and daughter-in-law and I went to Sea World last night for the Doobie Brothers Band, Brew, and BBque concert. Unfortunately the Doobies tried to woo us with pieces from their new album, and we were all there to hear their oldies and goodies. It was very disappointing until the crowd stood up to call them back for an encore of their oldies----then all hell broke loose, and we all got a bit of satisfaction!

Following that, we walked to the Orena Bar and Grill and played some pool and some darts. A couple of neat guys and a girlfriend of one of them befriended us at the dart boards (the kids, actually, and put up with Ma!) and somehow or other we ended up going with them to a place called Senior Froggers Disco Club by cab. That was my first, and LAST, disco! The crowd was wall-to-wall, cheek to cheek and butt to butt, the workers blew ear-piercing cop whistles as they tried to make their way through the bodies, doling out freebee colored shots served in what looked like those old wax colored syrup suckies we ate/drank as kids, (I wouldn't touch one of those with a ten-foot pole----who knows what in gawd's name could have been in them!), ear piercing, icky music provided some earthly reason for those up on a stage wielding noodle balloons to dance like total idiots, madly waving arms and legs, screaming, writhing, jumping, (heck, I could be called a pro dancer in my ineptness next to them!) accompanied with flashing lights and lasers (making me feel as if I were having a seizure!) and I could find NO exits in the entire place but the front door we came in through! Talk about a madhouse and a fire trap and an eardrum-rupturing atmosphere, we were in it! I quickly stuffed napkin doo-dads in my ears)

Luckily Melissa was bought a two-foot high red drink served in something akin to a monsterous candelabra, and soon became unable to writhe and have any more fun----none too soon for me! (I think I read those particular drinks contained 6 shots of whatever) Weldon called us a cab, and we came back here by about 1:00 am. Melissa fell into bed, and Goog and I made us a frozen pizza and then retired ourselves. Whew---at least now I can say I have been to a disco!!

We spent the day here on the sofa, watching various movies. I even enjoyed the movies, until, just before I logged on here, the original Bambi came on. Although I was only about 3 or 4 years old when I saw the first few minutes of that with my mother, I instantly recognized the music from the kitchen where I was doing dishes, and began to cry. I quickly turned the channel before the hunter shot little Bambi's mother. My mother had to rush me from the theater back then, as I became hysterical. That was actully the last movie she ever took me to, and the last movie I ever cared to watch until just recently. Sigh----and she thought Disney would be a fun time for me. Poor Mommy!

It's overcast here today, but not too cold. A good day to do laundry, vacuum, and recover from last night!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
