Sunny Saturday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Saturday Morning

A Sunny Good Morning to you all,

The sun is out from behind the clouds of yesterday and last night storm and 4 inches of fresh snow awaits me in the drive this morning. Breakfast is in my tummy and I will be heading out shortly to clean up the place out there.

That's the way it goes here this time of year. Just when you are hoping that winter will kind of melt away and let spring come in, it starts to dump more white stuff on us  . Course this is only the end of February so that's normal. Looks like a bit of a stormy week ahead too. Maybe a mess of mix more than all snow. But eventually it will all melt and the ground will once again appear. It just requires patience this time of year :) . I and have a busy week coming up this week anyway, so it will go fast.

Other than doing the snow, I don't really have anything planned for today. Have a piece of wood sitting in my breezeway warming up and if it does, I'm going to cut and trim it and start working on my Spring Welcome sign. I forgot to bring it in last night from the garage, so it's kind of cold right now  Hard to paint on something cold like that.

Gym class was fun yesterday. Our regular instructor was back from her FL visit to daughter and grandkids. The class was small yesterday compared to a usual Friday crowd cause of weather I think. It had been snowing and made for a wet sloppy mess yesterday morning. Very slick driving, so some of the ladies may have decided not to venture out. Those of us who did had fun. The other gal who had been conducting the classes was a younger young lady and although she is really good, she did kind of over work us older folks a bit. Usually we do exercises in bunches of 12 reps, she had us up to as many as 20. It was a good workout, but.... And she did it a bit differenly then our other instructor usually does, which dosn't really matter. But yesterday was funny cause everybody seemed to be having a hard time telling left from right, front from back and so forth as she lead us through our exercises. Even she was laughing. Getting back into the routine of our regular person

So guess it's time to get off this thing and get cleaned up, dressed in the outdoor duds and find my drive etc. Won't take long. But nice to work out in the bright morning sunshine and it's not really that cold out. So have a wonderful day all.

Good morning, good morning!

Here in Jersey we had a windy overnight and now a blustery but sunny Saturday. Awakening naturally at an early hour, my blog post for today is done, I'm fed and laundry is spinning in the washer. Back in November, we purchased a stackable, front-loading washer and dryer which is in the office trailer. Looks like we will continue to be here for a good while, so the set will have paid for itself by the time we leave when one considers the cost of a laundromat. Of course, this is much more convenient, being just a few steps away, and it's nice to know we are using machines that we, well, we know where they've been if you get my drift. If we go to another site owned by this company, we can have them trucked to us or, if need be, I'm sure we can sell the set.

Same thing for our generator. We experience frequent power outages on the property, so several months ago I said to Dave, "We probably should get a generator." His response (remember he's from Scotland), "We don't need one." Well, I'm a product of the Texas Gulf Coast - hurricane's ya know. So, I kept mentioning "generator" now and then. He went from "We don't need one" to "I won't spend more than $xxx" to "Just get whatever you think we need." This is what I got.

Danny, the demo guy here, told me about getting a discount when you open a Home Depot commercial card. Well, that, combined with the sale at the time, got this baby at a substantially lower than usual price.

Dave built a shelter and platform for this beast, a construction-grade, which runs our 5er without a hiccup. When the Nor'easter blew through over Halloween, we were off the power grid for seven days. We've used it for shorter periods since then, too. According to Dave, the generator was the best idea I've had. :D Well, besides full-timing, that is.

Listen to the Momma. She knows Things.

Enough rambling, I suppose, for this morning. I have the Web site to work on and some other creative projects, so I'm outta here.

Hope you all have a wonderful, peaceful, joyous and downright groovy weekend!

Last night was our annual GTG for the women that I use to work with. Some couldn't make it but it was nice visiting with the ones that did. Our hostess made chocolate martinis for us. I wish I had watched them make them because they were so good. The inside of the glasses were coated with the chocolate. Drinks usually give me a headache but these didn't. Oh no, another bad habit.

Nice looking generator, Betty. Home Depot gives a Military discount and we saved about $500 on a bathroom remodel using my son's discount.

There is a craft show this weekend so think I will probably head for Lafayette. I don't know why I go to these things because about the only thing I buy is food. I don't like the new building they are using, it's too crowded if there are a lot of people you can't get down the aisles. The old place got a new manager and he wanted people to buy tickets through Ticket Master. I don't think so. I'm not paying a ticket fee for a craft show and I think everyone felt the same. They only had one show after that change.

Looks to be another beautiful day here in SoCal...the fog is gone and the sun is shining in a clear blue sky. Probabally not going to be as warm as the last few days, but I'll take it!

Spent a couple of hours on the phone yesterday trying to get appt's for all of the referels...only got one for the colonoscopy and ERD and that's not until April 12th. grrrrr! One of them has to be faxed over by the Dr and one of them had the wrong info on it. The way they wrote it, only one boob to be mamo'd. Another one the office was already closed. I can see how this is gonna go...I may not get out of town this year!

Martha, you need to get the recipe for those chocolate drinks...that'd go over great at a GTG! You might even replace Mitch as the Master Mixologist!! She's done some pretty good ones in the past. And I'm with you on the crafts shows, the only thing I would buy would be food!

Gotta get busy, going over to the BF's, he's buying dinner tonite for a late BD celebration. Going to really enjoy it as Monday I have to go get that dang tooth fixed and get a cleaning. It was supposed to be done a week ago but he had to cancel and reschedule. Good thing it was only a crown and not a real tooth, at least it hasn't hurt unless I get something really cold or hot on it.

hope everyone has a great w/e, sunny skies and good weather....

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Yep still morning here for another 5 minutes. Not a whole lot planned for today. Was gonna go to the storage room and get after that some more But I need to get my air filter for the truck washed and re-oiled. The truck has been running crappy at a real slow speed lately and dies when I back out of a parking place. So I am gonna do the filter to see if that help. David and I will try trial and error on getting that little problem. Idles just fine and runs like a champ at 30mph and higher but needs to run good at all times. So....... after I wash it and let dry completely I'll have to put the spray oil on and let it dry again. ~sigh~ I miss the old filters but this Air-aid one is suppose to be so much better. Kelly will be getting dishes done up and then we will both be doing some 'house' cleaning. Fun, fun, fun! NOT! :D

Wunderground says it's 52f outside but it's pretty blustery so it feels colder. Not looking forward to going outside and getting my hands soaking wet washing that filter out. Suppose to get to 61f but with that wind I don't think it's gonna make it. But at least it's now snowing!!! Thank the Gods!!! I see some of the snow up on the mountains here is also melting. I have no idea how much snow they got up at the Lodge this winter. Bosses have spent the winter in Williams this time. Don't know when they will go move back up to the Lodge. Chris I know has been up to the Lodge to check on things and to keep any deep heavy snow off the roofs. I don't think I would like to be running back and forth between Willams and the Lodge all winter but he didn't want Ellen on a snowmobile this winter after her accident last winter.

OK, gonna quit flapping my fingers in here and go check out what ya'll have been up to. Hope everyone has a super great day with lots of fun. Remember to stay safe.

Love to all

good morning ladies, and forgive me, I know its actually afternoon now but I've been busy all morning supervising the work on my car.
It broke down Wednesday on the way home from work so we got home via tow truck. DS friends are all trying to fix it and for the
past two days it was a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. Hopefully with all the extra cooks gone today we will actually get it
fixed. Keeping my fingers crossed, and hopefully it isn't an expensive repair.

Hmmm, this must be the car repair day. Had the oil changed and changed the air filter. Also, had to replace a headlamp that just went out. I was a nervous wreck getting home with only one headlight last night. Mechanic told me I need to change the fuel filter and service the transmission. He is right, but that will be next payday!

Afternoon ladies. We got up early and went to the Orange (TX) Hamfest. Martha, we didn't find any ham OR oranges! Just a bunch of old codgers looking at tables of stuff about as old as them. :o  Of course, Ronnie found a radio and antenna he couldn't leave without. Back home now, he's sleeping and I'm catching up on my normal morning computer stuff.

I know it's way past morning. But we got up this morning and got out of the house to drive over 60 miles to a dutch oven gathering or DOG. It was a lot of fun and we got some great ideas. A lot of the people in this group actually camp at the location it's held - an American Legion hall - so that's an option for us on camping locations.

And the American Legion vets were doing a flag burning ceremony, getting rid of old, worn out American flags. It actually was an interesting and kind of moving ceremony, with a 21 gun salute and Taps included.

I have to work on a paper this evening - joy, joy, fun fun!

And my truck fix-it problem - the cover on the truck bed has decided to break loose on one side from the clip that holds it in place. We have to fix that but Mark has to work tomorrow.

And Vickie - that's the problem with those hamfests. I'm glad we didn't decide to go.
