Kitchen Cleaning Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Kitchen Cleaning Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:21 am

Good Morning everyone,

It's Thursday already! This week is flying. Seems like I just looked at the calendar and it was the first day of February and now it's almost over. Must be getting old, as they same time flies when you get older

Kitchen cupboard cleaning day today. Just have that and one closet to clean out and I will be done with my spring cleaning. My mind is on making another one of my wood signs, so when I finish this cleaning, will get started on that. Want it done by the first official day of spring, so i can put the winter one away. By then I don't want to see anything more to do with winter.

Was just reading through the Campfire post and I see that Echo and Kelly are making plans to head for home in a couple of weeks or so, now that she has a confirmed job at Dollywood. Although I posted to the thread, I want to say again, I am so happy for you Echo and Kelly too. A new adventure awaits you and so does your family.

I see by the weather that some nasty stuff has been moving through the south again. Hope all of you down there are keeping safe. Spring is starting to work in when that kind of stuff starts to happen. We here are just sitting on the edge of a snowstorm that is going to pass below us. At the moment we aren't supposed to have any snow, but 30 miles is not that far from the northern edge. Even if it does though, it will just be light.

So I am off to get started here. Want to get that project done and take the girls for a walk early this afternoon. My cable company is sending a tech to the house to install a digital box for me as I am upgrading my service. They were going to raise my rates again, so I was able to get into a 2 year service bundle that is actually cheaper than what i am paying right now. Saved myself a little "bundle" of money there, pun intended  I"m on digital now, but this is a more expanded version, so requires the box. Don't need an HD box as I don't have an HD tv as yet. Still liiving a a cave here :) There are days when I get disgusted with this cable business and think about satellite, but may service is through Charter Communications and right now they are highly rated for the best internet service and it is good. I have never had a problem with it and it is fast.

Good morning Sue and all, it is almost 60 degrees here sunny and beautiful at 9:00 AM!! I'll be whining it's too hot by noon, my DH says I have a 5 degree comfort range :o

Anxiously awaiting news of Sarah and Magic's meeting. Hope all goes well. Enjoy the day, I'm off to yoga this morning.

Howdy and good morning, ladies!

Mr. Sun is out (as is Mr. Wind) and it is a yummy 54 right now. So far today we've run two trucks across the scale, I have collected our mail (across the Delaware in PA) and taken photos of some of the demo work down at the other mill. I'll use the photos on the Web site for the demolition company.

Today is our one-year anniversary of being at this site and on this job. Hard to believe how the time has flown!

My office desk is less of a tornado scene today and I got our wireless printer back online with the Internet. Yay! No wonder I have a slow go at getting to my projects when I have to stop and wrestle with things like that for an hour. Sheesh.

Colliemom, I did major cleaning recently and am still in a "Spring cleaning" mood, wanting to rearrange furniture (tricky in a 38' fifth wheel) and toss out stuff right and left. I hear ya!

I went to yoga class at least once a week back in Texas and miss a group environment. There is a new yoga studio going in next door to the post office, so I may check that out when it opens. Or not . . . I try not to forcibly recapture experiences but find myself moving on to new routines, etc. I walk more, do my Wii Fit workouts, etc.

Listening to the Canada geese honking and posturing outside and thinking I best move along and get something done!

Hope everyone's having a groovy day!

Morning!

Well, we'll see what kind of weather today brings. Yesterday was blustery with either pouring rain or full sun. Really weird. Barely hit 50. I only got a short walk in as Choco and I are "fair weather" walkers. :D

Yesterday: I got motivated enough to vacuum and sweep floors and did a load of dishes and laundry. Tuesday after bowling I got my hair trimmed so yesterday I colored it. Looks better. Josh, my RV guy, called at 5PM to let me know he'd finished sealing Little Missy and so I drove out to the storage to inspect her and pay him. He does such nice work. He took pictures of every step he did and texted (is that a word?), them to me beforehand so I knew exactly what he was doing and when. There are a few places that the seals were still ok so he didn't replace them, but now it does look bad when you compare the new white seams to the older dark dirtier looking ones.

Today, so far, it's only cloudy but the temps will stay on the cool side for a while. At night the frogs are croaking away already. I'm sure they are confused as to what the heck is happening as Mother Nature seems to be confused, too.

This afternoon I have a funeral to attend. One of our Red Hat ladies passed away at her son's home in AZ on the 9th. She was 91 and the cutest little German lady you'd ever want to meet. She was best friends/former neighbor of my friend, Jeannette, so we often included her when we walked our dogs at the state park. The past couple years were hard for Hilda as her memory got very dim and she had to leave her home, which she loved.

On a more cheery note: so happy to hear Diane and Kelly are headed home to Tennessee! I'm sure her arms have been just aching to hug that grandson again. Safe travels, dear friends.

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

I just upgraded this computer's memory from 512 MB to 2 gigs, and it seems to have new life! Staples had the 2 Gig kit I needed, at a decent price, so I got it! Let's see how much of a difference this will make in the long run. One little teensy error I made was dropping a teensy little screw into the guts of the computer, and I cannot find it or hear it anywhere! I shook and shook and looked and looked with a flashlight----nothing. I wonder how long before that puppy shorts something out!

We had some much-needed rain late yesterday afternoon and into the early evening. It brought lightning and heavy winds with it, but it was moving so fast the dogs and I barely had time to flinch and hide! It's warm and breezy today, and very comfy. The lawn trimmers and mowers did their thing this morning, and now all we have to do is await the growth of some green grass. I have an exercise class to go to at the club at 2:00, if I so choose, and I might swim afterwards again, if the temperature stays warm enough.

I downloaded a map and all the info I could get about Kath's and Irmi's Wandering Oaks RV resort---in case I might change my mind and try to go there this weekend. But I see no prices on sites, and I will have to call if I want to actually camp for a few nights, I guess. I was thinking I could even camp in the back of my truck, using my special tent I got to fit over the tailgate and the topper door. But, somehow, the price of gas to get there and back is discouraging me. Their website leaves a lot to be desired as far as info, pics, and anything else goes. I don't see any place to swim.

Guess I need to get ready for the exercise class----hope you all are having a fun day wherever you may be.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Afternoon everyone... my daughter got in and we have been chatting all morning...
Soos the rate is $32 a night and no pool... you would need to call and make a reservation as they get full fast when there is a space... I believe Sarah has a reservation for 5 nights starting Sat...
It would be great to see you again...
We have rain off and on and some wind not like Sunday though...
Take care everyone and be careful on the roads...

I talked to Sarah briefly by phone yesterday. She thought that she was going to be able to get near a computer today or soon. She hasn't forgotten about us. Nan is there keeping her sane while she goes through the first days of "what isn't working on this new rig!" :o Many of us have been there which is a good reason to stay near the dealer those first nights. She will have her own story to tell soon.

It is about 75, gray and very windy. Bet the winds are about 25. We have a cold front coming through tonight with a chance of more rain. Grrrrrrrrrr It will be in the 60's for a few days. Can't whine about 60's very much, it could well be in the 40's.

I made Slow Cooker Enchiladas for lunch from a recipe I printed from the allrecipes web site. I figured it would be a big mess but it is actually pretty good. I sent a big container to my son's GF. We would never get through it all.

All of Sue's spring cleaning inspired me to find the book that goes with my son's carpet cleaner. I borrowed it a month ago and have never used it. My carpet in the living room needs cleaning very much. If I can get it put together I might try running it. I wouldn't have any carpet but my DH wanted it.

I'm glad Nan is there for Sarah. They tell you so much and most of it doesn't mean a thing if you have never done it before.

Martha,

Do you have a link for the Slow Cooker Enchiladas? Being a Texan gal, I sure do like my Mexican or Tex-Mex food! Thanks a bunch if it's not too much bother.

Cheers!

I'm not Martha - but going to that website and doing a search, I'm going to guess this is the link:

If not, Martha will have to chime back in.
