What have we done?!?

Come on in and say hello.

What have we done?!?

Postby SueW » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:31 am

Hi everyone!

I'm Sue and I'm new to the forum. I live in Greater Vancouver on the west (wet) coast of Canada. My husband and I have just purchased a 1977 Boler travel trailer. Oh my, what have we done?!? Of course lots of renovations need to be done, so I'm sure I'll be jumping in with lots of questions. The trailer's so small (13'), maybe I don't even qualify as an RVer?!? We've done lots and lots of tent camping, but we're all new to the trailer adventure. We're excited, but I'm secretly nervous about the work involved in getting the trailer camp'able. I'm not afraid to get my fingernails dirty, though, so hopefully everything will be... well... a learning experience!

Thank you all in advance for your support!

Welcome, Sue! Sounds like you've got some work cut out for you but you seem to be ready for it - and for the results you'll get. And I'll be one of those here rooting you on! Of course, pictures along the way would be wonderful (yes, we love pictures).

Hope to see you here often. Join in anywhere and everywhere.

I have a 16' trailer and at the least consider myself a camper, if not an RVer. One thing when I'm camping, I like to live outside and with my trailer, that's pretty much a given

Well, CONGRATULATIONS, Sue. What a great project. Yes, we would certainly love to watch the make-over via pictures!!

I, too, have a tiny little trailer and for the most part, I was very welcomed here when I jointed...except for VickieP, but you'll find out about her as time goes on. She's really, really mean and picks on me all the time. I'll protect you from her. (okay, so she's really nice, but don't you ever tell her I said that...I'll deny it.)

I can't wait for the pictures.
Do you have any 4-legged children? We like pics of those, too! :)

We'll look forward getting to know you better.

Hi and welcome, Sue!

Congratulations on your purchase! I just checked out some 1977 Bolers for sale and they are cute, cute, cute! It may be some work to refurbish, but it will be fun, too!

Welcome to this group! I just joined yesterday and I can tell you it's a great group of ladies! Do you have any photos of the Boler yet?

Cheers!

Welcome aboard....."size does not matter" It is the truth here! In fact we welcome those that are still in the dreaming and looking phase or the I did that and need to park myself in a house again phase...... It is the spirit of adventure and dreams that matter most. Have fun with making the rig yours. :)

Hi Sue. I have a brother that lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A few years ago when my brother and sister-in-law were coming for a visit their friends followed them with their Boler trailer. A cute little trailer kind of like what we call a Casita. They stayed a week on my car port and we toured South Louisiana. I'm sure you will be able to get it road ready.

OK, well, phew, I feel so much better already! With you all behind me, how can I possibly screw-up?!? (LOL... I'm sure it's just a matter of time.)

I will post the "Yes, I'm small and very ugly" pictures in due course. (I did say that some remodeling was in order, didn't I?!) I'll also track down some "I'm 4-legged and adorable" pictures, as obviously that's important too... :)

Welcome Sue, from another Sue. Read about your getting that trailer and having a nice project ahead of you. Actually all you have done, is get something that you will make you own and after the hard work is over, you will have a lifetime of fun and adventures awaiting you. Looking forward to pics of your project.

I too have a small TT. Just a 16 footer, but it's all I need.

And we absolutely :D do not promise to help you from "not screwing up" :? but if and when you do....we promise to listen to you rant about it here or laugh or cry or laugh or pull your hair out......and we promise to help celebrate and do "happy dances" in recognition of all the great and wonderful stuff, too!

And if it is opinions from our experience you ask for...you get them but don't expect all of if to match up......we have traveled some diverse journeys and drive/have driven many different rigs....and that is just the beginning..... :D

Hi Sue, from yet another Sue! I think we have more Sues in this group now than Carols or Carolyns, although those names are very popular. We reign!

Can't wait to see some pics of your Boler! Maybe your work will encourage me to begin to work on my 1977 trailer back at home in the Adirondacks when I get there. I love that thing, but it sure does need some work, too!

Welcome, Sue!!! Starting out small is good... ;) We started our Full-time life style in a 17' hybrid... :D So dig in there and make your "new home" as beautiful as you wish for.....We'll be here for you all the way.....and yes, before and after photos are a must....we're also nosy and will give a multitude of opinions, if asked.... but we love "home improvement" projects..... ;) Can't wait for the "re-model" to begin.... :D
