Happy Valentine's Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Valentine's Day

Postby Colliemom » Tue Feb 14, 2012 8:51 am

Good Morning everyone and a Very Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.

Breakfast of bacon and eggs finished here, topped off by a bowl of sliced peaches. So now I guess it's time to get busy around here. Want to get back to the spring cleaning today since it's a bit snowy out there. Nothing big, just a light dusting kind of stuff. Not expected to last long or amount to anything. Just a weak disturbance going through.

Stopped by Otsego yesterday and talked with the boss, so I am officially going back over there this summer. He was very happy to have me want to come back. And is it stands right now, we may actually be going back to work earlier than I may have been up at the other park. So all in all, it was the better move. Now I am working on a plan to get rid of my current truck and also my TT. Will keep my eye out for a lighter weight TT to pull behind the new vehicle I am considering buying, A Chevrolet Traverse.

Hope the cold weather that has you folks in the south a bit chilled is on it's way out and warmer weather is coming back. Even here, our highs are going to be above average this week and even into the first part of next week, it looks mild. As February winds down toward March, these temps become more the norm.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi. Off to do the cleaning of walls etc, in my hallway, laundry room, spare bathroom and my ocmputer room here and then all I will have left is my living room, kitchen and breezeway. They won't take long as far as washing the walls are concerned. Once that project is done, then I will turn to windows, cupboards and closets. Want to finish this before work calls. With gym three days a week and other things to do too, time will go by fast.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day all. Remember, this is Chocoholic day, so even if you don't have a sweetie to buy you some, buy yourself some and enjoy! Let's see now, I think I will have a chocolate covered carmel pecan cluster.........

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, I'm so glad you are looking forward to going back to Otsego Park for the summer. You certainly seemed to enjoy your work there, so I hope everything works out for you.

It started out at 48 degrees here in Ocala this morning but that's a lot better than the 25 degrees we had yesterday. It will warm up to about 76 later on and it is supposed to get into the high 70's tomorrow. I'm looking forward to spending more time outside again now that it is going to be warmer out. I just finished the last of the chocolate chip cookies that Kathleen made, which were delicious.

The campground is having a Valentine's Day potluck later today, so I'm going to get a crockpot of meatballs going for that.

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY BACK TO YOU AND TO ALL, SUE!

Congrats on your job decision! You can still visit your other friends at the more distant campground on your days off, and traveling so many fewer miles just makes so much more sense in this age of tight money and high prices. Step two, your truck and TT, can be made at any time, and perhaps, as you say, you will have more equity in your truck with each month, making a trade that much more lucrative. Somebody will be excited to have a practically new truck and TT as a combo package, perhaps. I'll have to check out the Chevy Traverse to see what that looks like.

Just got news that a long-time friend and classmate of my daughter's from Kindergarten through high school and her family of hubby and two kids will be coming to stay with me for a week (with my invitation) in March! I am so excited to have company here! They will be going to Sea World and Disney and probably Universal, so this house, being right in the hub of all, will be perfect for them! Will have to tell Melissa and Weldon now, to see if they would be interested in some company on the final weekend they will be here, for a campfire and some reminiscing of old times back in the Adirondacks.

Today will be much warmer than yesterday, already is, actually, The pups and I will take a good long walk and then I will go for a bike ride. Swimming might be just the jacouzzi today, as I'm sure the pool will need to warm up quite a bit after the cold nights we have just had. (Am I becoming a wimpy Floridian already?!!)

I managed to get my computer hooked to my TV last night, after returning the cable I got from Staples and getting a different one from WalMart. I also did more work on how to configure my laptop so that I can have two monitors, one being the TV. It's wonderful to watch the live bear cams on there where the bear cubs can really be seen! Also great to see my pics in huge sizes! It pays to read the manuals, sometimes!

Have a great chocolate day everybody! The sun is bright and warm, and the sky is a brilliant, cloudless blue!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Happy Valentine's Day all, My DH made a really cute watercolor painting for me, it's a wooded rowboat with him and the three dogs sailing it and the sail is red heart shaped. Winnie is up front hanging over the edge, Charley has on a sailors hat and Andy is sitting in DH's lap.

Sue, glad your work situation is fixed. Have you read any blogs/reviews about the Traverse? I saw many comments saying don't believe the gas mileage for the 2011 & '12 that it is more like 14 in town and 18 highway. I get 19 in town in my '05 Sienna van and it will tow a light trailer in fact that is the model Mitch tows with. Toyota Sienna and Honda Odessay's are in about the same price range as the Traverse, you might want to check them out, lots of interior room and easy access for dogs. Sienna's used to have and may still have the highest number of American made parts than any other vehicle.

I'll bet most of us would love to see a photograph of your honey's painting!

And as an FYI - the Sienna no longer has the "tow package" as standard. It's now an option.

Happy Valentine's Day to all
Looks like it will be a soggy one around here - wet most of the week. Sneaky weatherman changed our forecast. At least it is warming up.
Sue - So glad your plans are beginning to fall into place.
We do need a photo, BJ.
My dog sitter exchange friend just called. Last minute trip plan and needs me to keep Lizzie thru Sat. evening. When she returns, she will pick up both dogs and keep them while I go back to FL. Looks like I will have 2 dirty, wet dogs to greet Wendy when she arrives.
Have a great day and don't eat too many sweets.

BJ, that watercolor card is really cool! You should frame that!

Herschel looks as handsome as ever! Such a ham! ...(oops, didn't see Remi's pic right away, he is a ladykiller too!)

Chocolate sounds like a great idea today! In fact, I made brownies last night so I think I will go get one (or two) right now! Then off to work...

Been cool and rainy here the past couple days, like everywhere else. Had a lot of wind and heavy rain overnight. There was a 5.5 earthquake up near Eureka, CA yesterday. Anyone up that way right now?

Have a Great VDay!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
