Another Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Feb 13, 2012 8:09 am

Good Morning all,

The restaurant is open this morning although the menu is a bit limited. I have eggs, bacon, cereal, milk, water and tea. Sorry out of bread so can't make toast and no OJ or coffee here either. Hmmmm, I think I don't want to do business with this place.

It's a beautiful but chilly morning here this morning. Going into the 30's though. Another week of mild temps tempered with some snow as well. They are watching a potential storm for Thursday, but right now it looks like it's going to stay south of us up here.

Was a busy weekend with some spring cleaning accomplished, church, a little snowblowing, a couple of dog walks etc.. Now it's time to start another week. Gym class this morning, a quick trip to store while I am in town, then over to Otsego to talk to the boss and tell him that I am coming back rather than taking the other job farther north. One must do what one must do, when the expenses get too tight. By that time it will be time to take the girls for a walk.

Sounds like everybody's getting a little cold weather these past couple of days. But for those down south, it wll warm up way faster than here. It always amazes me how 40 degrees here can be so balmy this time of year when in fall we have to bundle up against it. Angle of the sun.

Well, time to be off and checking other posts. Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Cold here in south Georgia too! Woke up to 23 degrees and I am not enjoying this at all. I had hoped to maybe see the low 40's at most. Good news is no snow. Been listening to WSM online and back home they are in the teens and looking at some snow. OK, this is better. It's my day off so I may just stay inside and drink tea all day. Stay safe and WARM ladies!

I stayed in all day yesterday.. massive feeding frenzy with mind numbing movie watching. I enjoyed it quite a bit even though a few brain cells may of been lost in the process. Today, I need to force myself outside.. on the bike. i have an errand to run.. can't put it off no matter how much I want to.

I'd rather just repeat yesterday's day of "nothing" and stay warm. I know once I get out there.. I'll be glad I did. Its just the getting out there part.. getting the bike out of the shed...getting on the bike.. pedaling the bike.. you get the picture. Within the next hour, it should get up into the 40's.. oh happy joy joy.

Good Morning everyone... I believe the cold spell is behind us... it got down to 22 here last night... tonight it will be in the 30s so up we go... love my fire place... had a rough night so know it got into my bones... but now warm coffee and a trike ride this afternoon will help... Alice I think it is not joy joy even in the 40s... needs to be in the high 60s or 70s for me...
Irmi and Steve have been to the store already... they got me some corn chips to use with dip! mmm mmm good
I have been trying to break Shadow of barking all of the time when people come, using the water bottle... it does not help much... but maybe after a bit of time it will help some...
It seems that the spot to my west has become a transient site... but when it is empty I can see more grass...
Oh Sarah it won't be long and you will be driving your new RV... can't wait to see it...
I trust everyone will have a good day

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Another cold night last night down here in FL, but our two-day winter is over for now as temperatures are to again rise into the 70s and 80s! It's tough to take! The sun is warm this morning already, and I will soon be turning my house furnace off again.

Nothing in the plans for today other than returning the cable I got at Staples the other day to hook my computer to the TV, as it doesn't work with this antiquated laptop. That will be good to get a big chunk of money back. Later in the day I wlll take the dogs for a walk and then perhaps go for a bike ride. This retirement life is a tough one all righty!

Off I go to do some dishes, make my bed, and head out to Staples after I catch up on other posts. Happy Monday to you all!

Good morning all from a chilly rainy south TX. Rain will clear by noon they say with temps rising to the high 60s. Tomorrow is our Mexico foray and supposed to be near 80 and sunny. It will also be a big test for Simba, as I plan to leave him here in his crate with his vibrating bark collar that has a new battery. If he's still alive and well and no one asks me to leave the park, we'll pass the test.

Kathleen, are you planning a GTG there when Sarah comes to pick up her RV? You and Irmi, Nan and Sarah could find some fun I'm sure, and help Sarah get it all figured out too. Hope your weather warms up too.

Alice, when it's cold I tend to go into feeding frenzy too...my mind/body thinks the food calories will turn into heat calories I guess. Good thing we're on a warming trend here.

Hunkering down until the rain & chill pass, then plans for a good walk this afternoon.

My poor little plants I put in are dead, or they sure look dead. Think they were frozen last night. But I dutifully watered them in hopes they will survive. We will see.

I am in hopes the weather will warm up..

The rain may be clearing out of Texas but it's headed this way. Our 3 days of winter will be over tomorrow and it will be back into the 70's. It's 54 but looks colder and I can hear the wind. No plans for today other than more office cleaning. Any thing to keep from working on my taxes.

A new cat showed up here Friday. He's a cute little long haired black and white half grown kitten. I was hoping my DH wouldn't notice him since we have other black and white cats but he did. I told him I thought he was the neighbors cat but I don't have a clue where he came from. He is someone's pet, I can carry him around. As tame as most of our cats are they don't like to be carried. He was covered with spider webs so he might have been hiding in one of the barns until he got hungry and came out. At least he is lying low in my rose bed and only comes out when I call him.

Well it is afternoon but I'm still in my PJs so think that counts for longer morning.
Still winter her - has been since Saturday - and will continue another 30 or hours. In fact we are under a winter weather advisory for sleet later today. Thankfully forecast for next weekend looks good - mld temps and dry for the start of my journey south.

Half the plan for getting RV is in place - the half for actually picking it up; jello plan for return trip at this point. True to her screen name, Readytogo (Wendy) will spend the night at my house next Saturday. We will leave Sunday morning and drive at least half way to Nan's. On to Nan's for Monday night. Think Wendy is planning to visit with Kathleen & Irmi on Tuesday while Nan and I head on down to Dustys in Bartow to take delivery of RV. Nan is taking her motor home and will camp with me a few days while I see if all is working and I know enough about how it works to attempt drive home. Just realized that other than the few short test drives I made, this will be my first time to ride in a MH. What an awesome group of women we have here. So many seem to always be ready to help out in so many ways.

Sure hope all your new little plants survived, Nan.

Like Alice I semi hibernated all weekend and am still doing almost anything to avoid hitting taxes. My "dump it in a big box" filing system has come back to haunt me once again. What a pain and I have no one to blame but myself.

Guess I'd better try to go do something productive before day is totally shot.
