Thanks, Ava! I took him to Niki's Place http://www.nikisplace.com/Prices.html It wasn't much more there and I thought I would go on the recommendation. They did his surgery first so I could pick him up by 11:00, since I have to be to work at noon. They were so nice and spent time to make sure all of my questions were answered, etc. Brutus is doing well. He was eating by evening and is doing even better today. I have pain meds to give him for a few more mornings. I asked them if I could use a baby onesy instead of the cone of shame and they said they had them, too, if I preferred. I thought it was an original idea I stopped and bought more at Babies R Us and they fit better than the one they had. He did manage to slip out of it, somehow, when he fell off my bed early this morning Thinking I should have named him Houdini He tries to be all tough around some of the other dogs and some people, so he has some socializing to do. I'm hoping he stops having the urge to pee on everything soon! He even lifts his leg on me when I stop to visit with people He was whining constantly his first night here, but that is getting better. I have been correcting him when he does that. He does cry very loud when I leave and then again when I come home. The neighbors heard him and thought it was strange to hear since Rags doesn't do that. He didn't like Ken the first night, but he likes him now...I knew he would. He likes chewing on Rag's rawhide bone and Rags shares nicely. The two of them get along nicely. They look so cute walking side by side

He is marking (peeing on everything and you) as a sign of his territory. I don't know if neutering will change that. Little males seem to be worse for that than big dogs. You might have to establish the fact that YOU are the alpha of the pack.

It's fun when I take my 2 for a walk - Jazz marks as bad as Oscar, only she has to squat. But they get so busy marking over each other, we don't always get far on the walks

When Solo squats to pee Dugie used to back up to her and lift his leg on her. I don't allow that anymore, but it sure was a funny statement the first time he did it.

You can get a "belly band" to keep on him in the house...if it comes to that.

Crud! Just had a big post all typed up and lost it I will post pics later. It's been awhile so it will take some time and I need to get to bed. Brutus cried too much in the kennel so I left him loose in the mh today and I think he did better just loose with Rags. I came home mid afternoon and took them out for a short potty walk. I think I will take Brutus to work with me tomorrow since Ken is going on a hike and he is my sitter. Brutus could use more socializing anyway. What is a belly band? Does it cover his wee wee? The onesy is doing that for now, though he did pee in it this morning when he tried to pee on Ken's leg I shouldn't laugh. I have learned to push Brutus away with my foot when he gets too close to me when we stop on our walk to talk. It seems to be working. He is also already learning to sit and wait until I tell him he can eat his food. I taught Rags and Gizmo that right away, too. I think it helps show I'm the boss. Brutus is already learning the "cht" sound I use when I correct him...like Ceasar does on "The Dog Whisperer". He is a cuddler and loves his mommy already He doesn't wear out my lap, though, and gets down when he's had enough loving. He sleeps right next to me and didn't get under the covers last night. His onesy today says "MY MOMMY ROCKS" so I better not pee on him, Ava, so I can protect my image

Barbie...I will email you one. I haven't had time to fiddle with uploading photos on here lately. He has finally shed the onesies, but think he needs a little sweatshirt, or something. He does get cold and shivers sometimes. I just stuffed him in my hoodie while I'm typing He is so lovey dovey!

I LOVE BRUTUS He is doing so well!!! He has now learned a couple of things his brother, Rags, already knows. He sits and waits for the command to eat his meals, sits and stays for me to get out the door and down the stairs and say OK, and sits for treats. He is so lovable He loves to sleep under the covers with me (has fallen out of bed twice ) and likes to sit on my lap or next to me, sometimes. He is doing pretty well with a Gentle Lead...not bucking as much now My only complaint is that he is aggressive towards a lot of the other dogs. I'm not at all used to that! I think he needs to go to a dog park and be off leash and let the big dogs show him who's boss. He got his first bath the other day and he did pretty well. Doesn't take long to bathe a 5.7 lb dog He has finally pretty much stopped that backward sneezing thing that I was so worried about. Wonder if it has something to do with the anesthesia for his surgery? All in all, I'm pretty happy
